Martin Luther was known for many great things. He was a German monk who began the Protestant Reformation and was later known as the Father of Protestantism. He had managed to change people’s perspective on things with his vision. Luther was born during the fifteenth and sixteenth century, also known as the Middle Ages. In this time of the world, many great and life changing events occurred including Columbus discovering a new piece of land. His parents longed for Martin to become the perfect son, meaning he would be the top in his class and hoped for him to be well rounded. Gratefully, Martin achieved his parent’s hopes by being excellent in school and attending at the most prestigious university in Germany. He was later noted for his strict discipline and academic vigor. In almost a full year, he accepted the vows, was ordained, and participated in his own Mass. As time passed, we learned that Luther was no ordinary monk. He seemed to stand out, because he was a deeply troubled man. The church taught him many things, which included loving and serving God on his own. However, Martin had a hard time accepting that he was at peace with God no matter how hard he worked for it.
