I myself want to act as a healing intermediary, offering massage clients improved mobility, increased flexibility, and new perspectives, in order to enable clients to be more successful in all aspects of their personal, professional, physical and mental lives. I plan to achieve this career vision by delivering highly customized care featuring innovative approaches to recovery based on knowledge of pain management, human anatomy and nutrition. Implementing one-on-one learning situations (educating and coaching) for clients. Also, harmoniously generating a team of motivated individuals, committed to treating and training clients at all levels. My motivation is because I like taking care of athletes. I’ve experienced the locker room atmosphere as an athlete myself I’ve been injured (many times) and I’ve been dropped from a team (once). I see professional athletes as clients not a celebrity. I understand the pressure of performance and the inability to perform due to injury. Throughout my athletic career I experienced three shoulder injuries. I …show more content…
Also, I have started my own companies, Passiflora Spa and Diamond Sweetness which cater to athletes in both physical well-being and nutrition during the season and post-season. Diamond Sweetness is a partnership with renowned chef Donathan Wallace. I teamed up with him earlier this year to work with the nutrition side of our program. Collectively chef Don and I assess and analyze dietary practices, body composition, and energy balance (intake and expenditure) of athletes in the context of athletic performance. We provide personalized meal and snack plans to promote achieving short-and- long- term goals for athletic performance and good health. Describe the food program promoted by the organization. Is this program flexible enough to allow people with different food ways and lifestyles to use it successfully? I was raised in a unique environment which would transform my views on delivering exceptional, dedicated care to patients. Although my father never imposed pursuing a career in medicine, he was strict in regards to extracurricular activities such as sports. As I grew older, the question of why sports were emphasized early in my life had finally been answered by my father. He explained that sports emphasized teamwork, taught the value of perseverance, and the importance of striving to break past barriers which once seemed impossible. After our conversation and further reflection, I realized the importance of the skills obtained from my previous involvement in sports.
What kind of career is Massage Therapy? A very interesting and productive career which I would enjoy pursuing. Some reasons that this would be a good career for me are that it pays well, education is not extensive, it helps others, and it is something I am good at and enjoy doing.
I am interested in the profession of athletic training because this profession would allow me to work with athletes and help them recover from injuries so they could continue their passion in sports. Encourage my disabled father to walk by executing some exercises that I learned including my knowledge of anatomy and physiology inspired me to seek a career that involves physical activity. I felt working with active individuals suited my personality. What motivated me the most to pursue a career in athletic training is the opportunity to help people in need, and working in a setting that I enjoy and that is sports. The athletic trainer is essential for the team success because without them most players would end their career after an injury.
