Before taking this class, I had planned on continuing my education and starting my Master’s degree in the fall of 2016. I was going to pursue a degree in Healthcare Administration. However, after taking this class I am unsure if I want to pursue my Master’s. I am very grateful that next quarter is my last leg of my undergraduate career. It has taken me a very long time to get here. As for my future, I will be indulging in a little bit of self-evaluation and determining if my future is what I planned on it being when I started this journey years ago. I felt that I struggled with the terms of this class immensely. I have taken other online classes and have never felt this much pressure or frustration. Unfortunately, I have never been a
This class has offered me so much more than I could have ever fathomed. I have a minor issue with
Libby Faffler, LNHA, became interested in health care administration during her undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Originally, when she began her college education she wanted to become a nurse. That plan changed during her sophomore year after she transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. It was during this time that she realized nursing was not the path she wanted to take. However, Libby was still interested in the health care field and wanted to pursue a career in that direction. When she looked at the health care administration major, she noticed that most of her pre-nursing courses coincided with the courses needed for the health care administrator major. Libby then decided to pursue a degree in health care
When I first started this class, I did not expect to learn as much as I did. My sister took the online version of this class and she told me that she barely put an effort in the class to get a good grade. I feel like that is the opposite reaction in my own experience. I think I put lot of effort into this class, but at the same time I did learn a lot from it. I even use the material from this class to do a whole new research paper on the different class because I feel like this class content is very interesting.
I believe I have become more cynical over the years of being in health care and going through this course has not helped that very much. I often think to myself “Why am I in a customer service oriented job?” The entitlement people expect is mind blowing. However, I also think that my perception of health care is growing positively because of the different class and subjects that have been touched on throughout this course. I have a better understanding of the process it takes to get a law passed in our government, how to outcomes, and how to design a facility floor plan. Health care is changing quickly with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the amount of patients with the ability to get medical care. The amount of providers was not increased to help handle to large increase in patients. Patients are struggling to make appointments in a timely fashion because of the increased volume of calls on the call centers or front office staff. Patients are waiting longer periods of time to get an appointment because of the increased volume of patients. Doctors have the ability to not be enrolled as a provider in health care plans and that limits the availability of doctors that are able to treat patients on Medicare and Medicaid.
Beyond the immediate exposure of healthcare best practices and how to address each situation with its own urgency; it has molded me to develop the skills necessary to balance a busy schedule to meet deadlines. Keck Medicine of USC has taught me to only accept the highest standards while being forthcoming and endearing with research for any project. Entering into healthcare from a completely different career path has been nothing short of challenging. This change of career required me to refocus my efforts and abilities to become a team player within an office setting and learn a new dialect only known within the health care community. All the skills and knowledge I have obtained required a great amount of perseverance and dedication outside the workspace to become a successful employee. I have no doubt that the dedication my career has bestowed me with, can also be applied to my education and will help me succeed within the USC environment. With this is mind, I have come to the conclusion that I am prepared to commence my graduate education at USC in pursuit of a Master’s Degree.
I can't imagine myself going through that, I asked Melissa, "were the classes difficult?" She replied, "in all honesty, yes, it was extremely
When this semester started I felt sure that this class would be an easy one for me and that I would not have any problem passing this class, after all I was an experienced mom and worked in a daycare setting for more than three years. That is a very arrogant position for me to take. As I look back over this semester the one thing I wish more than anything is that I should have taken the time to add this class to my schedule first thing. This class would have given the background I needed to not feel so lost in some of my classes. I have learned a great deal and have grown professionally in many ways.
I also now know that I need additional time to devote to this class. Where in other classes, I do not seem to struggle on assignments and clarification. I am a hands-on learner, so with on-line courses it is sometimes difficult to understand what is expected of the assignment, having the rubric helps though.
Did you know that patriotic ads or notions influence how we think? It can also positively influence the way we make a purchase or make us think of a product in a different light. It can also persuade us in making decisions based on what we feel is the best patriotic decision. It is usually at its peak during election time when everyone is watching and waiting to see who will lead our country for the next 4 years. When the country is divided by who they feel will be our best patriotic leader and what they stand for. It also peaks at times of historical tragedies, such as 9/11 or the ongoing war in Afghanistan.
There was such a variety of topics covered in this course and I wish that I had taken it in a classroom instead of online. With this online course, I feel like the material went a little too quickly. If I were in a classroom setting, I feel that

I Really had a hard time trying to understand the process of using my learning patterns but with guidance from my instructor and peers I definitely have a clear understanding of what I need to do to not only succeed in a class but to receive information and use it accordingly. At first, I really thought of this class as somewhat of a tutorial and after going through the entire process I now know that it is in fact a tutorial. A tutorial that will help me process information in different ways for fit a situation. I really wish, however, there was a skype type class setup so that I could see emotion with the information being shared amongst peers and the

The course was set up in a way that was really beneficial to me, as an awkward freshman with not a lot of background in sexuality. We started from the ground (I still remember the first day, when we yelled out slang for penis for a good ten minutes), and we worked our way up, step by step, in a way that we could all keep up with. I never felt overwhelmed by the information given to me, but I was thoughtful, and I was given plenty of time to chew on what I’d learned, whether that was with homework
I've been thinking about all the changes taking place in our department and across campus that may or may not affect some of the things we currently doing. However, to stay a head of the changes I would like for us to start working as a cohesive group to address issues we have within our team and the office so we can best serve our students. We are doing great work but I want to continue to improve on the things we are doing. When I start two years ago I made serve changes after observing for a few months that enhanced our students experience as a Cornerstone student and helped to hold them accountable for their learning. Those changes worked well for old Cornerstone. Now with a new crew finally in place and the increase in students
