The Dred Scott Decision of 1857 ruled that African-Americans, even ones who were not enslaved, were not protected under The Constitution and could never be citizens. This brings up questions that will be answered in this paper. Should slaves be American citizens? Is it morally correct for one to own another human? Does the Dred Scott decision contradict The Declaration of Independence which states that every man is created equal?
Christopher Johnson Mccandless, an intelligent young man, dies while trying to live in Alaska; by choice. The death of Mccandless was a controversial matter: people argued their thoughts on Mccandless’ story, and who's to blame for Mccandless' death. Some say it’s Mccandless’ own stupidity, or his honorable seek for thrill. Others say it’s his parents’ horrible way of raising him, or nature’s unforeseen acts. However, it is a mixture of all these, with Mccandless being the most at fault. Mccandless might have had choices, but there were things he couldn’t control, neither can anyone else.
On July 4, 1954, Sheppard’s family invited Ahern’s family for dinner. Don and Nancy Ahern and their two children joined Sheppard family for casual dinner. Ahern family is a neighbour of Sheppard’s family. After the dinner, Nancy’s two children fallen to sleep and Don dropped those kid in his house and he came back to Sheppard’s house. Meanwhile, Marilyn Sheppard drop off his child to upstair to the bed, Samuel Reese Sheppard. Sheppard’s family and Nancy’s family watched a film together. As Marilyn tried to sleep on Sam’s lap, he felt tired from working all day, so he got up and went to his couch to take a nap. Later on that night, Marilyn was beaten to death. News finally reached Texas about slaves being freed on June 19th, 1865, also called Juneteenth. Starting with t-ball when he was six, the next year he joined the club team run by WYCO, while it was coach pitch and machine pitch, it was a big step up from hitting off a tee.Their team was one of the youngest at WYCO.
Matthew Beck, 35, (top picture) worked as an accountant at Connecticut's lottery headquarters. During the time Beck worked there, he took five months off of work due to stress, but he later returned. On the morning of March 6, 1998, Beck arrived at work and hung up his coat as usual. Beck walked to the office of Michael Logan, 33, where Beck shot and stabbed Logan. Beck then proceeded to walk to a room close by where a meeting was being held and raised his gun at Linda Mlynarczyk, 38. Witnesses reportedly heard Beck say, “Bye, bye,” before shooting Linda three times. Frederick Rubelmann, 40, was also killed in this room. Beck chased after Otho Brown, 54, who had ran into the parking lot outside. Brown was on his back, pleading for his life.

He was voted the most dominant pitcher in the history of baseball and is ranked in the top ten in many key pitching groups, including wins, shutouts, and ERA, if taking 19th century pitchers statistics into account. Otherwise Matthewson and Walter Johnson would hold the distinction of being the only two pitchers placed in the top ten in both career wins and ERA. The story of Sam Ferris, an eleven year old boy who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is “a life threatening cancer that affects the nervous system (Make-A-Wish 2012).” Sam always has this passion for baseball and his wish was for a baseball field to be built in his backyard, which would allow him to play with his friends whenever he wanted. Make-A-Wish knew that this was his one true wish, so they asked help from volunteers and donors to make his wish come true. The University of Mississippi and Itawamba Community College’s ground crew decided that they would contribute to building the baseball field.
