Anthem and The Maze Runner are both dystopian society based books that teens like to read because they can relate to them and they like how twisted they are.
Katniss Everdeen, the protagonist in The Hunger Game series, is one of the survivors of the hunger game. Katniss comes from district 12, the poorest area in the whole countries. The character’s image is tough and strong because she wants to protect her family from any dangers. Therefore, she volunteers to replace her sister in the hunger game to protect her. She even become the symbol of resistance (the Mockingjay) of the war to the Capitol during the revolution. For people in the Panem, Katniss is the victor of the hunger game, the hope, who survives from the torture and poverty. The image of Katniss represents people who fight for survival in the real world. People sometimes need to give up something when they faced difficulty, like Katniss, she makes efforts to fight with the government.
The first similarity for these two books is there is a love story of some sort or the other.Which directly leads to the difference of the main characters in The Hunger Games the main character is a girl firstly and secondly the main character named Katniss Everdeen played by actor Jennifer Lawerence is in “love” with two people named Peeta and Gale.In The Maze Runner the main character named Thomas played by Dylan O’Brien is only in love with one character named Teresa.Another difference between the two books is in The Hunger Games the goverment controls the people in difference to The Maze Runner where scientist control the people.
In the movie The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen voluntarily takes her younger sister’s place in the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is a televised fight, where only one person lives. Two teenagers from each of the twelve Districts of Panem are selected at random to compete. The purpose of the movie The Hunger Games is to create a sense of urgency for freedom in young adults. The Hunger Games encourages young adults to rebel against society’s rule.
The Hunger Games, a novel by Suzanne Collins, is the story of 16 years old, Katniss Everdeen, who fights to death for her district. The Hunger Games is an event hosted every year by the Capitol of Panem, where a randomly chosen boy and girl both need to represent each of the twelve districts that the capitol is composed of. When Katniss little sister, Prim, is chosen to be the representative for District twelve, Katniss volunteers to take her place and fight along her male counterpart, Peeta. The reason I choose this book for my book report is because Katniss is not your typical 16 year old girl. Not only is she her family’s provider but she’s also skillful, strong, rebellious, and unsentimental heroine. These are characteristics that society would mostly link to a 16 year old boy rather than a girl.
In the novel, Lord of the Flies by William Golding and The Maze Runner by James Dashner are both about teenagers who are stranded and trying to stay alive. In Golding’s novel, the story is developed based on World War II, and how a group of boys are stranded on an island by a plane crash with no adults and no civilization and are trying to survive with only a limited amount of resources. As of Dashner novel, the story is based on a futuristic dystopian world, where kids are tested to see how they are able to survive a mysterious virus after a massive catastrophe happened. Which makes a conclusion of people behavior is influenced by a vulnerability, their beliefs, and their emotions.
Thomas is the narrator and protagonist of the story. He arrives in the maze with no knowledge of who he is or was. He only remembers his name and nothing else about his life. Thomas proves to be brave and clever even though he only has a very limited memory of previous knowledge of the Maze. Since arriving in the maze, Thomas makes both friends and enemies and proves to be a leader among the other boys with him in the maze.

In James Dashner “The maze runner” this book is filled with tons of action and adventure and can keep a reader attached for hours on end. I am typically not one to read or even like Reading, but this book was great and I know I will read the second book in the trilogy.
The Hunger Games, A book series by Suzanne Collins, differs in few ways from Veronica Roth’s Divergent. The Hunger Games lead role, Katniss Everdeen, lives in a world of few choices. The government controls the lives of everybody in the 12 districts. When Katniss’ little sister, Primrose, is chosen to fight in the annual Hunger Games, Katniss volunteers to take her place. Katniss becomes a symbol of rebellion against the
The Maze runner is a 2014 film directed by Wes Ball, in which the protagonist, Thomas, inexplicably arrives in ‘The Glade’, a small civilisation built up of the limited resources by the young men inhabiting it. Soon after his arrival, Thomas learns that the concrete walls surrounding the Glade are the walls of a maze, and he makes it his mission to find an escape from the walls resembling that of a prison. Throughout Thomas’s journey in his dystopic reality, director Wes Ball uses visual and audio techniques to exemplify the theme, why responding to fear with bravery is a necessary instinct. This theme can be broken down into different aspects which demonstrate both the negatives of fear and the positives of bravery.
The Maze Runner was by James Dashner. The Maze Runner was a non-fiction book,it had real people and real events that happened throughout the story and the story was based on a curious and intelligent boy named Thomas. After decades of involuntary violence and mistreatment of the Districts, a rebellion is undoubtedly going to occur. As citizens are too afraid to stand up alone, they have unknowingly chosen Katniss as their symbol of the rebellion, which began at the reaping when they all united in raising three fingers in her honour. Katniss wholeheartedly disagrees with all of the Capitol’s morals, and she is not one to hide her distaste. At the end of the Hunger Games, Katniss and Peeta are the remaining two competitors, although there can only be one victor. Katniss has a different idea of how the games will
One example is is the main character from each book, Ralph (Lord of the Flies), and Thomas (Maze Runner). They both share the same traits: bold, ambitious, brave, and makes a good leader. In both books, the main protagonist strives towards a goal, and undergoes missions and challenges to reach it. In the Maze Runner, the aim is to escape a lethal maze. In the lord of the flies, the aim is to escape an isolated jungle island.
To begin with, The Hunger Games is the first book in the Hunger Games Trilogy, and is written by Suzanne Collins. First off, the novel takes place in Penem, a make-believe future where the Capital is surrounded by districts. The Districts are like slaves to the Capital, give away resources to the Capital and only keep some resources to themselves; so you can imagine that the districts are very poor. The Capital also forces the districts to give up one boy and girl to go to annual Hunger Games, so to prevent War. Katniss, the main character in the book, ends up being part of the hunger games alongside with Peeta. Katniss then has to fight for her life because there may only be one victor. Lastly, throughout this book you’ll see conformity and civil disobedience play a huge role in the Hunger Games.
