Hello McCombs MBA Admission staff! I’m Luke Marodi and I help bring energy to the world. I’ve decided the next significant milestone in my path, for professional and personal enrichment, is the opportunity to actively participate in your Texas Executive MBA program. For 31 years I’ve navigated life by thoughtfully determining how I can improve myself, my future, and my relationships, while positively impacting others. A common theme is identifying relationships and opportunities I’m passionate about, capturing, and making the most of them. Foundationally my parents have taught me the value of patience, humility, self-initiative, decision making, and communication. Rachel, Anna, and Leah are my three intelligent younger sisters who I’m close
This year's NBA rookies won't revolutionize the league like the class of 1984, which featured Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley and John Stockton. Chances are, it won't upset basketball's cultural applecart like Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant did in 1996. Nor can it be expected to usher in a new era of talent to an Association in transition, as LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh did in 2003.
Author and Princeton history professor Kevin Kruse once said, “Life isn’t about getting and having, it’s about giving and being.” These thoughtful words have continually kept me on the path of caring for others. Having this attitude has helped me to solidify my future goals, and being an active member and president of my school’s Key Club are largely to thank for this as well. Surrounding myself with like-minded students and faculty members has ultimately encouraged me to pursue a career in counseling.
As clique as it may be, my parents are my two biggest teachers. I won’t go to the extent to say that all I’ve learned is from them, but I will admit that they have heavily impacted my life with their teachings. I think that the best teachings that they have shown me, were ones that they unknowingly taught me. For example, my mother has taught me how to be strong and handle any situation that approaches and
When I began writing affirmations for this eBook back in January of 2017, my intentions were to create fifty two weekly love affirmation. Each week I allowed my Angels and guides to dictate the topic for the week. It became apparent during the course of the year that the love affirmations were truly about personal growth; however, this make sense for the more you reach your highest potential, the easier it is for a high level partnership that continues to grow…
Values are where my father had the most influence in my adolescent years. The one that he placed above all others were family values. He would tell me that having a happy family life was one of the most important things that a man could have. He was also a man that didn’t practice what he preached. He would always tell us to mind what our teachers said in school and never lie to anyone and not take something that didn’t belong to us. I remember one time I took a candy bar from a store when I went shopping with my mother. I felt so guilty that after we returned home I went to my father and gave him the candy bar and told him what I did. My dad would just look at me and said,” Son I’m disappointed in you, I have taught
The first and foremost lessons taught in my life began at home. My upbringing was, at times, unconventional and my family was, in a sense, not ideal to the standards of society. My mom was a single parent, becoming both the breadwinner, as well as, the caregiver. She came to this country on a student visa, and was able obtain an associate’s degree. Unfortunately, because she did not hold a higher degree, it was very hard, and sometimes impossible to find an adequate job. Yet, she made sure my siblings and I had decent schooling and reminded us constantly the importance of receiving an education.
As we grow, we are raised with many values. Parents, work with one another to

Back in Grand Yoff, Senegal I did not know or cared anything about music with the exception of dancing to the music because of the beat that the African singers would sing to. Instruments such as the piano, drum, guitar, and sabar were mostly known to me, especially the sabar, a carved dimb woods, with a goat skin head attached to it. The schools that i attended did not offer music classes for us. Kids would just play around with a can and stick and start beating it to make rhythms.
My parents encouraged me to learn on my own, which enabled me to develop into my own person. The only life lesson stated numerous times to me by my parents is, "respect is something that can take a lifetime to build, and can be lost in a second." The first time I heard this saying it went in one ear and right out the other, but after each repetition I began to understand the importance of respect. Now I feel respect it defines my character, and will define my legacy.
At the core of God is the want to offer and to excuse. Along these lines, he set into movement the whole redemptive process that finished on the cross and was affirmed in the revival. Admission is a troublesome Teach for us since we as a whole time and again see the trusting group as an association of holy people previously we consider it to be a cooperation of miscreants. We feel that every other person has propelled so far into heavenliness that we are disengaged and alone in our own transgression. We can't stand to uncover our disappointments and inadequacies to others. In our admission, we bring solid sins. In the train of admission, we request that God give us a longing for heavenly living, a contempt for unholy living. There is the reasonable matter of to whom we ought to go to admit. According to Foster, “It is quite correct theologically to say that every Christian believer can receive the confession of another, but not every Christian believer will have sufficient empathy and understating.” It is often helpful by prayer to set the cross between yourself and penitent. It protects them from receiving any human emotion and
This book represents decades of tasting, researching, studying personal development and transformation and implementing all into my own life. Over the past few years, I found the key to a delicious, fulfilling life is to fill it with luscious experiences, beauty, style and action taking in the areas that are most important.
I had learned these core values from my family, teachers/professors, peers and myself. While I was younger to the age I am now, I was shown how important it is to have strong characteristics that make you a person. Everything I had been through I had lost and gain some of the values along the way of my life. I will admit not all of these came at once; it took much time to see the importance of my life and progress what’s left in it. Most of the time, when I was stuck I’d ask for advice and see how others got
Throughout my life my parents have taught and guided me, and, like a sponge, I have absorbed their ideas and morals. For
I was taught to be caring and thoughtful; I wasn’t taught anything else from anyone other than not to trust people. I’m the odd ball of my family because I am nothing like anyone. I can say I was also taught to believe in myself and never down myself because I can accomplish anything. That is shown through my determination and hard work because if I didn’t believe in myself I wouldn’t try as hard.
