Globalization of McDonalds
Globalization is the interlocking of different countries in the world in a political, economic, social and technological sense. People around the globe are more connected to each other than ever before. Information and money is exchanged at an alarming rate. Goods and services produced in one part of the world are increasingly available in all parts of the world. International travel is more common compared to earlier times. International communication is commonplace. This phenomenon has been titled "globalization."

The graph gives an example of how Mcdonalds have opened branches in various locations in such a short span of five years.
Mcdonalds is a brand in itself and there hardly will be anyone who is not aware of their existence. The burger is an American food but Mcdonalds have gone to prove that it is accepted by 52 million people and is still going strong. For instance they incorporate the host nation’s selection of taste and individuality so as to be accepted as fast food retailer. For example when the Asian countries are observed (China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taipei, South Korea) McDonalds success around the world is due to its franchising way of business and hiring local management. McDonalds was founded in 1943, and 1967 British Colombia was its first international expansion, advertising to middle and upper class. McDonalds decided to expand internationally, due to the enormous success in America. There was heavy research involved in the expansion. Through globalization and internationalization, McDonalds were able to develop marketing strategies according to cultural needs, to serve specific target markets. McDonalds enter India’s foreign market and 1996 and is a tough foreign market to enter, but with McDonald’s success they were able to earn high revenue in India. The success strategy is researching and the development of food. McDonalds thoroughly analyzed the preferred taste, especially to not offend locals. Their key to success is to “think global, act local.”

The global segment of the general environment is that McDonald’s has Internationally and successfully expanded into foreign markets around the world. The first country that McDonald’s expanded to was Canada. Today, McDonald’s successfully operates in more than 100 countries and has over 34,400 locations. According to the McSpotlight.org, “on average, McDonald’s opens a new restaurant every three hours”. The world recognizes McDonald’s as a truly successful American company with tasty and affordable food items.
Globalization is the process by which different societies and cultures integrate through a worldwide network of political ideas through transportation, communication, and trade. Generally, globalization has affected many nations in various ways; economically, politically, and socially. It is a term that refers to the fast integration and interdependence of various nations, which shapes the world affairs on a global level. Simply put; globalization is the world coming together. In this essay I will discuss multiple perspectives on globalization through the analysis of these three sources.

McDonald’s as we know is the biggest multinational-corporation in fast-food industry. McDonald’s is a symbol of American power and hegemony just like Coca Cola and Nike which its operations is all around the world. And how McDonald’s could successfully entering global markets ? the key components is its standardization in all McDonald’s outlets in the world known as QSC&V (Quality, Service, Cleanliness, Value). Frequently, people are unclear of exactly what Globalization means. Globalization is the tendency of the world's economies to act as a single interdependent economy. It can be described as the increased movement of people, knowledge, ideas, goods and money across national borders to make the world more unified in a sense. Globalization is often thought of in economic terms but as we know there are other components with this idea like, economics, and cultures. There is a huge debate of whether or not globalization is positive or negative.
In general the coffeehouse industry in the United States was experiencing an increase in coffee consumption per capita due to the “Starbucks effect”. At this time Starbucks was operating approximately 20,000 stores in the United States and was living a fast expansion strategy worldwide.
Globalization is the increasing interdependence and connectedness of the world, its businesses and it markets, as well as flow of goods, ideas, technology, people etc. This phenomenon has increased vastly over the years due to technological advances, telecommunications and internet. As the world becomes a global economy, countries have the opportunity to advance more but with the catch that there is also increased competition. Thus as it becomes more common and powerful a feature, it also has some resistance as well. (InvestorWords, n.d.)
Since McDonald’s is the most well know fast food chain in the world with a market cap of 69.35 billion, brand recognition is their biggest strength. The secret of McDonald’s success is its willingness to innovate and maintain consistency in the operation of its many outlets. In recent years McDonald’s has introduced Premium Salads, Snack Wraps, fresh Apple Dippers in the United States, and Corn Cups in China. Also, McDonald 's products are priced so low that economic conditions are almost insignificant.
Globalization refers to the interconnection among countries, politically, economically and culturally. Globalization has come into existence due to the following factors: (i) betterment in transportation and communication, (ii) human and capital mobility, (iii) increasing formation and existence of NGOs and multinational corporations.
