The quote by Henry Ford had the profound influence on my life when I learned it from my school history book. “When everything seems to be going against you, remember that an airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” I have the instinct to overcome challenges using my experience of failures. Throughout my years at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology(BUET), I have used this instinct of learning from failures and keep on trying until success to expand my boundary of understanding. I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering to continue pushing my boundaries to become a top researcher, contributing to the understanding of Fluid Mechanics. With the quality of education and research conducted at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, my ambition to challenge the hurdles becomes attainable.
After a setback at my School Certificate Exam, I came to learn about my shortcomings and strengths that guided me to attain successes later. From my schooling times, I have shown very keen interest in the subjects of Mathematics and Physics which have enhanced my analytical and quantitative skills that enabled my skill in thinking critically. I was top scorer in Mathematics in High School. This aptitude for Mathematics and Physics encouraged me to choose Mechanical Engineering as my undergraduate major as I believed it has tremendous potential and also challenges.
During the undergraduate program, I was widely and comprehensively exposed to numerous courses
Why would you like to attend the Governor's School of Engineering &Technology? What do you hope to gain from and contribute to the program? Be sure to tell us about your interests in engineering and technology, how they've developed, and any steps you have taken to explore these disciplines. Though I’ve always picked engineering as my top career choice, I developed interests in software engineering when I started learning programming in middle school through MOOCs.
My undergraduate experience has been a very exciting journey. I was amazed to learn how the principles of mechanical engineering touch the lives of every human being. It made me clear that mechanical sciences simplifies the lives of people involved in industry and also the masses through ceaseless development in design and manufacturing areas, making it efficient, safe, cost effective and most importantly environment friendly. Holding a
I take this opportunity to describe my educational background and career objectives that motivated me to pursue a master in Mechanical engineering.
Humans naturally tend to perceive large-scale mechanisms as a complex mess, but they are merely a combination of simple mechanical movements. Decomposition of a product architecture into its elementary building blocks has always fascinated me and the constant desire to work in the manufacturing and design field of leading industries was my driving potential to pursue mechanical engineering. Even though globalization and industrialization have changed today’s world drastically, the need for an efficient mechanical engineer is of utmost importance. I feel strengthening my knowledge and skills as a mechanical engineer is essential to become a part of this community and contribute towards the growing world, thus I have decided to undertake graduate studies.
Engineering must be one of the most difficult majors and studies to define as a whole, probably due to the fact that it encompases so much. Not only does the major involve mathematics, but it also contains both science and technology; though the profession has many goals, the main one is probably to advance and help not only the human race, but also to help the world that we live in. However, anyone with the desire to to change the world, must have some way to do it and some choose to study the engineering profession and in my case it is computer science. The engineering program is known to be not only trying but requires dedication, and there are good reasons for that, however it is far from impossible if one is willing to put forth the effort.
This theory is intriguing and I believe that with a finger in every pie around the world, Mechanical Engineering is an obligatory study for the visionaries. My quest for knowledge ended in Chennai where SRM University’s unparalleled curriculum provides a detailed introduction of the elaborateness of the subject, exposing us to a variety of fields such as Fluid Dynamics, Gas Dynamics and Space Propulsion, Materials Technology and Computer Aided Manufacturing. Laboratory assignments and presentations intensified schoolroom education, implementing conceptual learning and putting to practice founding principles, thus enhancing my understanding. Active and energetic, I was always in the driver’s seat for any exercise our group produced. In fact, in the first year, a faculty member recognized my academic competence and encouraged me to keep advancing ahead towards
Engineering is the creative application of scientific principles to design/develop a product or a process. Thus the vast majority of products we commonly use in day to day living have been designed by an engineer, probably even the seat you are sat in right now. The field of engineering is near limitless and this is why I feel engineering is the subject for me, as there is always a tougher challenge.
A simple bridge truss was the first structure I ever analyzed. The simple combination of beams that could hold cars, trains, and trucks over long spans of water fascinated me. Having the tools to analyze the loads on the truss further increased my interest in structures. I encountered the bridge in a textbook for my first engineering class.
After graduating from high school in the year 2012, I set out doing numerous odd jobs as I tried to establish a firm footing for my future studies since it has always been my dream to obtain professional training in Mechanical Engineering, I made sure I submitted my application to every call for scholarship opportunities and made several applications to world acclaimed universities that would be able to give me the training I so desired.
My rendezvous with Mechanical Engineering began during my school days, when we visited a toy manufacturing facility as part of our educational tour. I remember watching in amazement, an array of complex machines working in unison to transform plastic and metal into intricately contoured toys. Even at that age, my mind was able to comprehend the sheer genius of the wizards who engineered those magnificent machines. It was then that I aspired to enter this intriguing branch of mechanical engineering.
My choose of _______________________ to accomplish my ambition, as it has distinguished faculty and research prospects which are used as resources for maximizing exposure offered to students and enable them to gain a border perspective. The Graduate Program in Mechanical Engineering provides students with an educational experience grounded in the engineering sciences and focused on producing a professional person. Further, dynamic and ever evolving concepts in Mechanical stream cemented my interest
Mechanical Engineering has not only given us inventions such as the car that have improved our lives but also captured the imagination of the world through space travel and the Apollo missions. To achieve breakthrough in technology, we will always need great mentors, state-of-art infrastructure and real motivation and Michigan Technological University is one of them. My four year academic curriculum in Mechanical Engineering at Pune University has offered me the perfect blend of theoretical subjects and laboratory work. These academic years help to build solid foundation in the field and made me keen to learn Applied Mechanics, Finite Element method, Design and manufacturing as part of my graduate syllabi. This career planning would help me to achieve my goal to be a part of Mechanical Engineering fraternity. Thus, after intensive personal exploration, I have decided to be a part of Michigan technological University as a first step towards my goal.
Thus, Mechanical engineering was a direct consequence of my convictions. Subjects like Manufacturing Process, CAD/CAM, Metal cutting & Machine Tool Engineering, Machine Design, Kinematics & Dynamics of Machines, Automotive Engineering, Applied Thermodynamics, Control Systems Engineering etc., revealed to me limitless horizons in the field of Mechanical Engineering. My undergraduate study was a richly rewarding experience, during which I have participated various Industrial training
To study the program, I had to overcome many a hurdle- such as the common entrance examination which I had to take alongside thousands of students. I passed the examination with flying colors. I took up Mechanical Engineering in Babaria institute of technology which is affiliated to the prestigious Gujarat Technological University. I chose Mechanical Engineering as my undergraduate major as I believed it had tremendous potential. Throughout my undergraduate program, I have maintained an excellent academic record.
