My commitment to volunteerism is important to me. I am not apart of Kiwanis, however, I am still involved throughout school and church. I am in 5 clubs, which include the Associated Student Body (ASB), Med Club, Kind Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and Chelan Project. Meanwhile at church, I help with worship band, tech support and children's ministries. Volunteerism is the chance to be a leader and show the type of person you are. Through ASB, we promote school spirit and have the opportunity to interact with the entire school. My position is the Executive Senior Treasurer. Therefore, I help balance and keep track of all accounts of the whole school. Med Club is a fun way to promote living a healthy lifestyle and share that
Ever since I can remember, I have had the intense desire to help people. In high school, I joined Kiwanis Key Club and National Honors Society; both organizations allowed me to gain hours of volunteer experience helping families in need within my own community. Both organizations have annual events to benefit our community. At Christmas, Key Club adopts a few families and we buy clothing and toys for the kids. Our efforts to make the holidays a more enjoyable time for the families removed the parents’ burden of having to worry about being able to pay bills after getting presents for their children. Also, National Honors Society holds a blood drive every year in coalition with the American Red Cross. Last year our blood drive was in honor of a little girl in our community with leukemia.
Volunteering to me didn’t seem very pleasing at first. My focus was simply getting the hours I needed to make my resume look good. However, my perspective changed when I began getting involved with the various activities of the community. I enjoyed helping and serving others, seeing the positive impact I made gave me a great satisfaction. Thankfully, I have volunteered in many areas, however there are a few organizations in which I have invested more time and effort.

In this regard, the most important part of service to me personally is giving back to the community. Volunteering is my way of providing service to others, it is not only effective, but it’s a good way to meet people, to learn, and to develop social skills. By helping or supporting others, I learned and used new skills in communicating with people and I have gained confidence in myself through different interactions. Providing aid to a family in need or helping out an elementary teacher is necessary, because as people it should be our natural tendencies to support one another, and bring aid when aid is due. For example, at Seven Lakes High school I created the Girls for Krause Club. It was given the name the Girls for Krause club after the Krause Center; a center in Katy that fosters girls who have been taken out of their homes due to sexual harassment, parental mistreatment or mental issues. My first visit to the Krause Center was with my youth group at church. I was so touched by all the girls at the center, and how open they were about their situation. I remember one of the girls telling me thank you, for treating her like “a regular person.” This interaction gave me the incentive to create the Krause club, because I wanted to allow other girls my age to interact with these girls and bring attention to a center that wasn’t well known in my community. Moreover, creating the Krause club has been rewarding and a way to showcase

In todays society there are many things that people can be involved in. One is volunteering. Local organizations around my community are always looking for people to come in and help volunteer with the young and the old. A local Boys and Girls club is one that I volunteer at when ever I get a chance to. Volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club has allowed me to help the boys and girls to have a safe place to come learn and grow while having fun. It is a place where young people can come and know someone cares about them. Volunteering makes a difference in the lives of boys and girls in the community. (Volunteer1) Volunteering with the Boys & Girls Club has taught me more about the organization, what a volunteer does, and what I can learn from volunteering.
Ever since I started school, I had always wanted to be involved in the community in some way whether it be at school, home, or in my town. To help the benefit of others and learn more about responsibility, I try to volunteer as much as I can. I volunteer throughout the year for The National Wild Turkey Federation (which I became a committee member of), and for Feed My Starving Children. Volunteering for the Archery Club and different volleyball clinics are also activities I enjoy. Volunteering is a passion of mine because it is a way that I can help others and give back to my community.
Journey’s intake unit completes all initial assessment to assess client for different level of care and accurately assign them to the most appropriate unit. The different level of care ranged from intensive inpatient care unit to medication only. As a practicum student, I worked in the outpatient services unit. The assessment was completed via an online program with an intake staff and the client, usually a week or two before the first scheduled appointment with a clinician. Therefore, once a client is assigned to me, I have access to review their file. The assessment are usually completed in a brief model format, and as the clinician assigned to work with a client, I am expected to use the first two sessions of therapy
I am very involved in volunteer work because working to make a better world is very dear to my heart. I was the Senior Class Representative of my high school service club and my job was to organize a lot of events. I was heavily involved in the committee for our Mini Dance Blue Marathon, and loved dancing the night away for the kids. I loved working with kids and helping to shape them so I have volunteered at day camps such as Winshape Camp Foundation and Camp Can-I-Go for a few years.
This paper will aim to apply my insights on motivational theory of individuals and teams by developing two initiatives to be put into action at the New Mexico Veteran Administration Medical Center (VA). It will discuss how I will implement these initiatives and what changes in an employee mindset may be required to overcome any resistance. It will discuss the positive outcomes I expect, and how I can avoid or minimize negative factors which may cause stress.
The interest group that I have chose is a group called the American Medical Association. American Medical Association main purpose is have better physicians and health facilities to help citizens achieve better health throughout the nation. The association tries to achieve these goals by creating medical schools to educate better physicians. Lastly the association is working hard to prevent the nations most common diseases, which are type 2 diabetes and heart disease. I have decided to choose this interest group because my goal in life is to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist. Going to the medical field makes myself interested with what the government is
The unhealthy chubby moveable image is possessed by those who merely eat, sleep, eat, and play games for a significant amount of time. It is consequently not surprising to predict that those images would soon not be moveable in the both the physical and mental sense. Those words may hurt them, may demolish their disposition, but at least may provoke their inner perception that they are the ones who hold their destiny not the ones who insult them by the cover. A number of obese children has increasingly grown up day by day whether the factors could the low standard quality of food, the unguarded security, or lack of exercise. New England Journal of Medicine has published an article that delivers the small-yet-significant change in percentage of severely obese children from 4% in 1999-2004 to 6% in 2011-2012. Two percent may sound simplistic and minimal; however, the change importantly indicates that this number has been growing in the past few years and will be growing gradually in the consecutive years if everyone merely and narrowly thinks that obesity is nothing but itself. Pediatric Gastroenterology and Director William Muinos and Pediatrics and Health Policy Management Professor at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Asheley Skinner together write an article called “Obese Kids at Higher Risk for Heart Disease, Diabetes” not only to educate the readers the correlation between obesity, heart disease, and diabetes, but also to instruct them and their children the
