After graduating from high school, I will be attending Indiana University and majoring in biology. I will be majoring in biology because the courses I will take will help me prepare for the Medical College Admission Test. The MCAT is required to be accepted into Indiana University School of Medicine. I know IU will prepare me for medical school. Going through college and medical school will require full commitment of my time and I am all in for it. I have always known that I am meant to be in the medical field ever since I was a child. I want to be an impact on people’s lives and give out support because that is one of the many skills I am good at. The more science courses I took in high school, the more I found an interest in dermatology.
Currently, I am in the process of earning my Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a pre-medical emphasis from Grand Canyon University. Upon graduation, I hope to attend either a medical or physician assistant school. My specific goal in the medical field is still up in the air, however, I am avidly exploring the fields of pathology, oncology, emergency medicine, and surgery. My interest in the medical field was sparked by my human anatomy and physiology class during my senior year of high school. Put simply, my life in high school was rough, and I was completely lost, as far as my career decisions were concerned. I enrolled in a human anatomy course, to fill a hole in my schedule during my senior
By the time I entered college, all I wanted was to be a doctor. My pre-medical classes were everything that I could have hoped: engaging, relevant, and exciting. A far cry from the banal boxes to be checked I had been warned about by my high school guidance counselor. My major, Neuroscience, brought me even deeper into the human body, and my Public Health minor gave me a macroscopic view of health to round out my educational experience. I was excited about
After I graduate Urbana High School with a 4.0 GPA, I plan on attending John Hopkins University and majoring in pre-medical. I would like to go to John Hopkins University because it is one of the best medical schools in the world. It is very important to me to go to a top college because I would like the chance to challenge myself mentally and physically. Also I feel as if a top school will lead to better job opportunities and a better learning experience. After Pre-medical school I plan to apply for medical school at John Hopkins University, to become an obstetrician or an anesthesiologist. I have a strong interest in the these two particular medical fields because for both medical fields you are making a huge impact on somebodys life. As
The population I chose to focus on is college graduates deciding on what graduate program to apply to. Though some students already have a program in mind, many of us go through a myriad of emotions during undergraduate studies that we change our major two or three times. Many post grad programs now require an assessment exam before considering admission. Some of these exams include the GRE, MCAT, LSAT, and PCAT for medical school, law school and pharmacy school.
I know the aspect of medicine I find most interesting: academic medicine. Stanford is one of the few schools that immediately facilitates my career goals by providing knowledge, tools, and access to world class faculty.
Going to a medical school in Cairo, Egypt, shaped my mindset and helped me see things from a different prospective. During my clinical training I served a poor and uninsured population. I saw people who were suffering and dying every day from preventable diseases due to lack of resources and health services. This made me understand the humanitarian nature of our profession. I knew that I had a responsibility to fulfill.
This coming fall, I have plans to attend University of California Santa Barbara where I will major in biology. While there I plan to attain a 4.0. During my time at this university I have intent to receive my CNA license and work an entry level position in medicine to help pay for college as well as giving me experience and appreciation for those who make doctors and nurses lives much easier. Upon graduation I will go to medical school to become an Emergency Room Physician. During my life as a doctor I would like to dedicate approximately a month of every year participating in the Doctors Without Borders program. I believe that it is important to help not only your own, but those around you.
My passion to enter Michigan State University is my lifelong dream since I was in high school 3 years ago. Throughout my childhood and undergraduate experience, I realized that I wanted to develop a more meaningful role in patient care. I found my passion in volunteering, which then developed, into my career as a patient care associate. Although I cannot give medicine I can positively influence a patient’s experience in the hospital while working on skills of compassion and empathy. My current occupation lays a great educational foundation in the operations of a hospital while learning how to work with the medical team beneficially. This is only a stepping-stone as I aspire to continue my education and develop a more meaningful role in patient wellbeing that I believe can be furthered by The Ohio State University.
The medical specialty I'm most interested in pursuing is immunology. For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to work in medicine. When I was thirteen, I was introduced to the field of immunology and autoimmune disorders by way of my stepmother, who has an autoimmune disorder called Polymyalgia Rheumatica. I often accompanied her to her immunologist appointments and these visits piqued my interest in this specialty.
After the car accident and my experience in the emergency room, my passion for medicine flourished. In my senior year of high school I enrolled in an Anatomy & Physiology course. I was enthralled by the curriculum and our visit to a cadaver lab. I chose Health Sciences when selecting a
One day there was a guy called Jacob, Jacob was the star basket baller at his high school, everyone loved him, the students, the teachers and even the principal. They only loved him because he represented the school in a way others couldn't. He was the best basketball player the school had ever seen, he was already representing his country and he was so successful but, he had a secret that no one else knew about.
In the end, I am driven to become a pediatrician because I know that by helping children grow and reach their full potential, I will be satisfied by knowing that I did all I could for them to reach that point. By completing a pre-med program at MCPHS I will be able to enrich myself both academically and socially due to the immense opportunities that the university offers. Being admitted into MCPHS will lay the foundation of my future
I have an interest in the medical career since I was young. My grandma was a village doctor who use natural herb to cure sickness. I used to stick around her when she was traveling around the mountain to see her patients. It amazed me how the world of medicine could improve one's life. That's why I want to be part of the group that use knowledge to make other 's life better. For me, undergrad is all about finding what you want to do with your life. I believe that there is no straight road that lead to a career in medicine.I hope that by majoring in biomedical engineering I will become a critical thinker and problem solver which is very important in the world of medicine. Doctor has to think critically and find a way to cure a patient. Also
Attending medical school has always been my dream and after the few experiences, this seems like the right career path for me. After making medical school my final career goal, I researched many areas, but one specialty caught my eye: neonatology, medical care of newborn infants. Children diagnosed with illnesses have always inspired me to be thankful for what I have and therefore, it seemed appropriate for me to give back. To get a better picture of what I will experience, I started to volunteer at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio as an information desk volunteer. The information desk gave me an insight of the “behind the scenes” that made the hospital run smoothly. During one of my shifts, I had to deliver mail to the families
