Megan Rose attended Bloomsburg University. She was previously a teacher at Mount Carmel, where she taught Advanced Algebra I, Advanced Geometry I, and regular Geometry. The year before she started working full time, she was a substitute at Mount Carmel. She was also an advisor for the ski club, which was one of the many clubs she had joined when she was in high school.
Ms. Rose became a teacher because she enjoys helping children, and gets a fulfilling feeling when she does. She enjoys that teachers have summers and weekends off, unlike a job that’s all year round. Having time off will benefit her in the future when she has children, as she will be able to spend more time with them than someone with a different job. Before deciding to become
At first she is amazed by the knowledge of her students, but while she starts to know more about them, she realizes that their only goal is to find a man to marry and have children with instead of becoming career professionals. Gradually, she decides to try to make them see that they are worth much more and that being a woman doesn’t mean giving up their dreams and ambitions.
I asked Tessa what made her want to go into teaching and she responded with telling me that she was originally in the finance industry. It only took a year and a half of working in finance for Tessa to realize that she was not a fan. So she went back to school, while still working in finance, and got her masters in secondary education. Tessa says that her main reason for picking teaching was the teachers that she had in high school. She said that she remembers the business teachers specifically making the most impact on
“Why do you want to teach?” This infamous question is a pivotal one that I have been asked countless times during my collegiate years. Since youth, my parents’ way of life has inspired me to become a teacher. My father was never properly educated. Rather than going to school full-time, he decided to work to help my grandmother financially. Although he did attend school a few days a week, he never had the support of teachers or family to make education a priority. As a result, he grew up illiterate and lacking the essential skills of reading and writing. The fact that my father never received proper education and lacked a solid supportive learning environment has inspired me to pursue a career in education. I would like to help change the way students easily throw in the towel at school due to family burdens and social circumstances. My mom also inspired me to become a teacher because her career field exposed me to younger children and birthed a love for giving, helping, and motivating children to explore. My mother owned several preschools since I was seven years old. I grew up interacting with a variety of children that attended her
For me, the decision to become a teacher is more of a way of life than a career. I have always loved school, practicing at being school marm from a young age, and voraciously devouring every shred of education offered me in my career as a student. If it were possible, I would be a student for the rest of my life. And then I still would not have learned enough. As a teacher, I hope to instill this appetite for knowledge in secondary students. They are, after all, the future leaders of the world, and what better place to expand the minds of the generations to come than here in Appalachia where education programs, especially the sciences, which I plan to teach, are poorly funded and children’s dreams
Some negative parts about being a teacher is seeing the children you have bonded with move on in their growth in development. Being a teacher, you will see many kids come and go and she explains it as seeing your own kids move on in life and not being in their life the remainder of their development.
Why a Teacher? Mrs. Crawford has always wanted to be a teacher, in fact ever since she was a little girl. She adopted this career because of her love of learning. At one point she wanted to be a physical therapist, but it changed back to teacher.

For this reason she finished high school and decided to attend college to become a doctor, and a teacher. As a result of her commitments, she finished undergraduate college, and applied to graduate school to become a doctor, as a matter of fact; she thought it would be unique if she can become a Doctor and a teacher, that would take care of two things she wanted to be.
My decision to be a teacher did not come easily to me. This choice was dependent on a reflection about what I was passionate about and how I could make a difference. I have chosen to become a teacher, as I believe teachers have the ability to provide future generations the stimulation for one of the most significant roles in life; to become a lifelong learner. Many teachers that I have had during my education have had a positive impact on my decision to grow and develop the skills that are fundamental to pursue a successful teaching career. My aim is to be a part of an honorable profession with the optimism that one day I will become an efficacious teacher who can provide future teachers with inspiration, as my teachers have provided for me. Through personal educational experiences and peer-reviewed academic literature, I am able to shape my approach to my pre-service teaching, as it will influence my future practice. As a teacher, there is not just one singular approach to educating students; there is a need for flexibility, diversity, adaptation and reflection.
Luu was growing up, she did not have that many struggles, her parents were strict about her grades, but that was very easy going for her. Ms. Luu’s parents like the fact that the teaching career benefited their community.
First question was what made you a teacher? She started to explain that in Sophomore year of high school she was signed up as a peer helper tutor which means she help special needs children with their homework. According to Mrs. Gilbert that after two days in that environment she knew that was her calling and what she need to do for the rest of her life. As she kept sharing her story she told me that not only did she know it was he calling, but it was also a place in her life where she could make a difference in this world. We may not always see the change but, when others we have help achieve we can see the difference we have made in their live.

Mrs. Barrier was the teacher I chose to interview for this paper, and I found her last two answers very helpful and very true. My first question was “What do you do at RCC?” to which her answer was “I educate students a RECHS.” (Mrs. Barrier is the History teacher for the freshman). The next question was “Why did you decide to pursue this career?” and she replied, “I always wanted to be a teacher ever since I
