With a mission devoted to providing an unparalleled medical education to students, focused upon continuous learning, holistic care and promotion of service to disadvantaged and underserved groups, I believe Meharry Medical College School of Medicine can provide me with a rich medical experience that will lend itself well to my development as both a medical student and aspiring physician.
Just as the institution is eager to continue embracing the ever-changing world of healthcare and medicine, I too embody this same distinguishing characteristic. Throughout my undergraduate experiences I have learned in order to be a steward and servant of the medical profession one must exercise teamwork, service, empathy, accountability, and optimism; all of which coincide with the tenets that are declared by the Meharry Medical College, School of Medicine culture. Attending this medical school would be one of the greatest rewards for my motivation and persistence. I know for certain there would be no greater experience than to be a part of the Meharry Medical College
I chose to attend Xavier University for many reasons. Some reasons include: continuing my education route, receiving a unique education, and strengthening my Christian beliefs. Since a second grader, I’ve always wanted to become a pediatric dentist and attend Xavier. Although my journey became rough, and seemed impossible, I can finally say, “I am a freshman at Xavier University of Louisiana, and I know for a fact that attending Xavier will allow me to become the best pediatric dentist I can be!”
Mature, Ethical, and Empathetic for everything in life; service-oriented and well-rounded in all subjects; and academically curious and understanding of the dental profession is what’s important to become a successful dentist. I am well-qualified for the Seven Year Dental program at University of Detroit Mercy because I encompass all of these qualities and have applied them throughout all my life.
To start, I have always had an interest in the health field and knew it was where I saw my future. I came across dental hygiene and quickly became fascinated. I learned just how important it can be and how many tend to overlook it. Given the opportunity, I would like to make sure my patients understand the importance of dental hygiene and share my knowledge. I feel because I have been given an opportunity that others weren’t so fortunate to receive; it is my responsibility to give back. I come from a small community in Northern New Mexico in which I plan to return and offer my knowledge and skills. I also have plans of doing missionary work for those who are unable to afford dental care. To be accepted into the prestigious Division of Dental
My past dental experiences have caused me to be certain of one thing: the path to my dental aspirations stretch far and this journey must continue. From becoming acquainted with my first dental instrument and exercising four-handed dentistry as a dental assistant, to promoting good oral health and preventing oral diseases as a pediatric registered dental hygienist, along the way I have conquered many challenges which have helped to shape the dental health professional that I am. One must always strive to continue to learn, practice and explore. In dentistry there is so much to be desired and it is in dental school that I will find the upcoming challenge I have been yearning for.
Deciding what you want to do for the rest of your life is never easy; in part because you never know what the future has in store. Furthermore, there are endless possibilities to take into consideration. A desire to help others has always been a passion of mine and I envision myself in a service oriented career path. With a great deal of time, soul searching, research and careful consideration, I have come to realize that pursuing a degree in dental hygiene will help me reach my goals and fulfill my dreams. Dental Hygienists are patient, understanding, detail-oriented and passionate about oral hygiene. They possess leadership skills and enjoy daily interaction with patients. I embody these character traits and look forward to educating
Allison Krausz is a senior in the Health Education program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Allison is from Swansea, Illinois and graduated from Belleville East High School in 2012. When Allison came to SIUe her first semester, she was set on becoming a dentist. Throughout her first semester, Allison mom would always tell her, ‘there is more to a career than money. You are such a caring person Allie, you were meant to do great things.’ At the end of Allison’s first year of college, her mom passed away. Listening to her mom’s words in her, Allison decided to change her major to Health Education. The Health Education program at SIUe has offered Allison the proper education to use her caring heart for good by educating others
During my time there I pursued a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology. Both of these social sciences provided me a comprehensive understanding of individuals behavior, as well as societal influences. Although, these majors share their differences, their collective goal is to improve people’s lives and work towards the betterment of society. Since a career in dental hygienist involves working directly with patients, the skills I learned through my major are transferable to this environment. Therefore making this career a fulfilling and rewarding opportunity to
However, the first step necessary for me to join the dental hygiene field is to become a part of a university. I am choosing to apply for Augusta University because I believe the education will help me succeed in following my dreams to be the best dental hygienist I am able to be. I also have done a large amount of research and over time found I want to further my education beyond the standard associates in dental hygiene program offered in my state. Based on my research, I have decided my objective is to not only to obtain a bachelors in dental hygiene but in the future to obtain a masters as well. I would love nothing more than to be able to spread the importance of dental care by teaching dental hygiene and expanding my education as much as
Their aspirations of being dentist, veterinarians, nutritious, etc. were being hindered by financial obligations outside of school. Some of the students are parents while others had to care for siblings causing them to have to work to offset the expense. This huge hurdle of funding for these students has now lessened with the help of the Cheyney Foundation.
Growing up in Nepal, I had to face the adversity of being a female in a community where women are expected to get an arranged marriage at the age of 19, surrender any dreams of education and dedicate their lives to bearing children, preferably boys. However, my family was progressive and fostered in me that scholastic pursuits should always be a priority. So, I immigrated to America by myself with a profound tenacity, in hopes to achieve a college degree in public health. Overcoming all financial hurdles, I was finally able to pursue a college degree successfully. I aspire to be that healthcare professional who yearns to live in the service of others, which for me would be a public health dentist. I am now on my path to achieving a master’s
In 2014, I received the honor of obtaining the opportunity to enroll in a university level dental course at Virginia Commonwealth University. I procured the privilege to work and shadow alongside the fourth-year dental students that were practicing their newly established techniques on patients of various socioeconomic backgrounds. This marked the beginning of two of my current aspirations: becoming an orthodontist with my own practice and becoming a certified sign language interpreter to incorporate Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals into our society. By 2021, I plan to complete my undergraduate career by whatever means necessary; graduating with my requirements for dental school completed and with a minor in American Sign Language.
The mission and vision statements that I produced before “ME Inc.” are good step in the right direction. The mission statement states what the company’s purpose is for the retail industry by offering a service for innovative technology. The mission statement needs to be concrete than its vision statement which is a little bit broad. The vision statement needs to relate to the ultimate achievement that the company wants to accomplish. The vision statement for “ME Inc.” clearly states that it wants to create a more customer-centric retail environment with the use of technology to streamline the convenience of settle at local retails across the United States. How get there is the use of technology and server retails across the US.
