Texas Health has shown why they are the top performers in the country. Texas Health has received honors and awards for clinical quality, including the 2007 Quality Award from Premier and the 2007 Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Award. There are numerous lessons from Texas Health experiences that other hospitals should look at to achieve high performance. According to the text, for an organization to reach the ideal state of continuous adaptation and improvement, the organization must be designed to achieve their goals and able to change direction when things don’t work out (Frates, J. 2009). Being in a health system gives you the opportunity to turn to each other as partners in quality improvement efforts and resources to help solve problems.

There are various considerations that may affect hospital scores, it involves satisfaction and eduction in which are a very important aspect of nursing care. As a nurse, it is important to have positive outcomes. There is currently one hospital within a 5-mile radius of my current facility. The two hospitals that are in this comparison are Kingwood Medical Center and Memorial Hermann NE. My place of employment is MHNE. So, when compared to Kingwood Medical Center, Memorial Hermann NE scores slightly better in both categories. Kingwood Medical Center patient satisfaction was 70%, while Memorial Hermann was at 73% with state and the national average of 76% and 73%. Even though my facility MHNE is at the national average, it is still lower than

I believe one the major strengths of Memorial Hermann Northeast is to be part of a big system and when my facility is unable to provide the care need it we can transfer our patients to specialist using life flight emergency services, for example, I recall one patient came from the airport because she felt and hit her head, in less than twenty minutes of her arrival she was transferred to our trauma center by life flight. Months later she came back to thank us for saving her life and now she recommends our hospital to everyone she knows. Another strength is the excellent care we offer in the thirty years the facility has on the community, the majority of our patients are residents in our area, and they know our names. For example, one patient
Trinity Community is challenged with two current healthcare trends. The first trend is related to Medicare and how doctors are paid on Medicare claims. Medicare’s primary coverage group is for people older than 65 years of age. Medicare also covers some people under 65 that have certain disabilities as well as people of any age that have End-Stage Renal Disease. Year after year, lawmakers have been trying to fix a part of the Medicare law that would cut payments to doctors. Since the late 1980’s, the cuts would continue to grow annually and eventually exceed a 20% pay cut.
Columbus, Ohio Memorial Hospital (COMH) has implemented an electronic medical record (EMR) since 2010, which has clearly demonstrated great improvement in patient care. During my work experiences, one of the concerns the physicians voiced were they were unable to communicate patient information to other providers or staff without having access to electronic medical records (EMR) in front of them, at that given time. The concerns expressed were that there was countless times that a physician had to wait on lab results to base their decision on patient care, while located at another facility. Physicians have experienced the frustration of inconvenient, slow or missing communication in their facilities when caring for their patients. In addition,
