According to the world health organization(WHO) “ mental health state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community” However there are certain factors that can affect mental health and lead to poor mental health conditions.this factors can be biological,social and psychological.there are several mental health conditions like depression, bipolar affective disorder, schizophrenia and other psychoses, dementia, intellectual disabilities and developmental disorders including autism(WHO).but for the purpose of this essay I will be talking about a particular mental health condition which is schizophrenia.i will talk about possible symptoms,causes and its challenges effects on the role of social workers.
Schizophrenia is a group of mental disorder not referring to a particular condition.symptoms involve Disturbance of thought and perception in the way they speak,write and paranoids attitude
Dilutions believing that some external forces are controlling their thoughts and actions
Disturbance of perception that feeling that the world appears to be different,colors look brighter and noise seem to be louder and in some extreme cases patient might lose the power of self-recognition because everything appears different for example the see their hands appear larger than normal,sometimes forget their address where
