In mostly everything people say that physical strength is more important that mental strength. The thing that they don’t see is that using mental and physical strength is as important in sports. Without one of these strengths you won’t be successful in sports. You would need mental and physical strength in sports since both of them are important in sports. The applications can vary, support to achieve a specific project, helping an individual to do better what they already do well, or developing a skill they don't yet possess.
When someone is first introduced to coaching it is important that the coach gives an overview of the coaching process and the role of a coach within this. It is important to set the ground rules and all both parties to meet expectations set.

The main problems with mental toughness are the inconsistency of its definition, and a lack of research into clearly defining mental toughness and what attributes are required to be mentally tough (Jones et al, 2002). The earliest definition of mental toughness was provided by Cattell (1957), suggesting mental toughness was an important personality trait, supported by Kroll (1967). Loehr (1982, 1986, 1994) attempted to define mental toughness, suggesting “mental toughness is the ability to use energy positively during crises and the possession of positive attitudes towards challenging and demanding situations”, although this definition lacked scientific definition regarding positive attitudes (Crust, 2007).
Any athlete who has an understanding of the game they are playing could easily sort out any issues that occur on the field. At my age, a player could learn the game simply by trial and error, and by now they would have a very wide understanding of their game. While coaches could be considered important, a coach does not account for fifty percent of an athletes’ success. A great coach could make a better team, but a bad coach could ruin the game for many. Without a doubt, coaches can be very useful, but they are nowhere near fifty percent of any athletes’ success. If an athlete does not have a positive mindset or motivation to succeed, a coach’s effort is pointless. An athlete could train themselves and make their own decisions and be very successful.
