Successful leaders, good and bad, are or were great communicators. Our founding fathers created some of our country’s most important documents - the Declaration of Independence for example. The message it delivered was communicated in such a fashion that there was no mistaking what the intent was. The idea was freedom; the Declaration of Independence was the means to make it known, the result, the United States of America (in a nut shell). In today’s world of email, texting, blogging and computer generated forms; being able to articulate a clear and concise message has become almost extinct and replaced by emoji-cons and abbreviated speech. As pointed out during orientation, text speak will not be tolerated (Bethel Orientation, 2015.).
