To any person who has ever taken a biology class has probably heard of or made an analogy to the Cell Organelles. I will be making an analogy about how the cell organelles are just like the imaginary movie land called “Whoville”. In the cell the one organelle that keeps everything in order in the cell is the Nucleus. For the analogy of the Nucleus I will be using the mayor of Whoville. The mayor keeps order and everyone will follow what he says, just like the Nucleus. Another organelle that has an analogy is the “Mitochondria”. The Mitochondria is what makes or produces energy for the cell. For this I will be using the people that made fudge for the Grinch, It provided him with energy. The “Golgi Apparatus” also has the analogy of the post
Nucleus – The nucleus is the largest organelle in the cell. It acts as the control system for almost all the activities of the cell. It stores the cell 's hereditary material, or DNA
A vesicle is bubble like membranous structure that stores and transports cellular products and digests metabolic waste in a cell. (Biology Online, 2008)
For a plant cell, the nucleus, without a doubt, is the most important organelle; but in the animal cell, the most vital structure is the mitochondria.
Analyze the anatomical structure of ten different organelles in the cell and their respective functions.
According to Mattias Schleiden and Theodor Schwann the cell is the basic unit of life(Cell Theory- OI). Two common types of cells are the plant and animal cells. Although both kinds of cells share many similar, abundant structures, they also have varying descrepancies from cell to cell. Without a doubt, the nucleus is the most important organelle in the plant cell, even though, the lysosome is the most important structure in the animal cell.
The nucleus is like the the coach since the coach is basically the brains of the team and overall controls the team. The assistant coach which is like the cytoplasm because he makes sure everyone and everything is in order and in place. The endoplasmic reticulum is like the baseball storage since most things are kept there for later use. The
These parts are all paired to parts of cells. A quarterback is compared to a ER because it throws the whole game when he throws the ball. A cell wall is compared to the center because it protects the quarterback to throw the ball. A football field is compared to the cytoplasm because it is where all the players are at. A coach is like the nucleus because it controls the plays and tells the play. A golgi apparatus is compared to the running back because it sends the
The chloroplast uses sun light to make sugar for energy for the cell using photosynthesis. And the mascots of amusement parks use their suits to make their own silly antics, like dancing, into excitement for the people at the amusement park! Did you know that the security is almost like the cell membrane? The cell membrane lets nutrients in and out of the of the cell. Security lets people pass and lets them out.
Merriam Webster defines an abstraction as “a general idea or quality rather than an actual person.” Humans are immensely complex creatures who cannot be confined to stereotypes, classifications or labels. Each person is equipped with their own set of traits, talents and capabilities that make them who they are. Viewing a person as simply an abstraction restricts them to a category stating who and what they are allowed to be effectively taking away the uniqueness each and every person has a right to. Both the scientific community and the media are guilty of viewing Henrietta in this way, these individuals exploited her cells without expressed consent for their own personal gain, told her story only when it was convenient for them, and never
This is the story of a cell, a young cell. This cell’s goal was to have the most powerful mitochondria of any other cell she knew. The mitochondria gave energy. She knew if she had a strong mitochondria, her being would be powerful and strong.
A cell organelle is a group or room in the school. To begin with, the cell wall is like the school wall, because they give the plant and school it’s shape. Peroxisomes and mitochondria are like gyms, since they both give energy. The security is the cell membrane, they perform very similarly as they control what goes in or out. The custodial and cafeteria staff are the vacuole, storing waste and food for the school. The green roof of the school makes food for the school. Just like chloroplast
Organelles are the internal structures of the cell that are important for the cell to survive. Each organelle has a specific function for the cell. The types of organelles in the cell can be different from each other depending on the type of cell. Plant cells and animal cells both have a cytoskeleton, endoplasmic reticulum (smooth and rough), golgi apparatus, mitochondrion, nucleus, plasma membrane, and ribosomes. Animal and plant cells also have vacuoles, but they are rarely found in animal cells. Vacuoles in animal cells are very small compared to the vacuoles in plant cells. Lysosomes are also rarely found in plant cells but mostly found in animal cells.
Many cells are filled with a complex network of tube like things known as the endoplasmic reticulum. The endoplasmic
In order for cells and organisms to “live” they need to perform certain tasks such as produce energy through respiration, send messages, maintenance and reproduction. To enable the cell to do so, it contains within small structures called organelles, each organelle is different and carries out a specific function.
