Methodology Approach (combination):
1. Case Study: This study will utilize a methodology more commonly called the mixed-method approach and will include the application of the “Case Study” technique. Planning and design fields heavily rely on the knowledge developed through individual case studies being cumulatively converted into prescriptive theories and paradigms. This technique is appropriate in that the process provides the means for quantitative comparative analysis with other airport sites, while also employing the qualitative collection from data instruments, which will gather firsthand knowledge of airport development, socio-demographic data, and land-use / spatial distribution growth. The focus on case studies or “best practices” is to understand the development process, including various planning, design and implementation stages involved in creating airport aerotropolis development. With that, some case study literature comes from sources other than peer–reviewed literature such as from projects, developers, city, or organizational websites / documents / news and although this is normal, this material will be researched thoroughly to assure data reliability and accuracy. Airport aerotropolis development(s) at national and global airports will be analyzed in respect to the economic clustering impact on-site and on the spatial layout in the urban proximity areas.
2. Qualitative Research / Interviews: Qualitative data / questionnaires / interviews with
Writing is a powerful tool for communication and connection. As an extension and expression of the mind, writing is as much about the mental processes of the author as it is about the final marks laid to paper. As we write, we hold in mind our own thoughts on the work, anticipate the reader’s thoughts, and think both in concrete and abstract ways in order to accomplish the task at hand. Whether an academic research paper, a novel, or text message to friends, writing seeks to engage, persuade, or impress concepts upon an audience. Like language and other art forms in general, the practice of writing is ever-evolving and is subject to cultural and contextual influence, expectations, and conventions. Each writer holds a theory
Denver’s geographic location and the growing size of its population and commerce made it an attractive location for airline hubbing operations. There was a growth on the determination of the “ pro New Airport”.
Following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, airport security has received considerable attention from the government as well expect in the aviation industry. The damages that transpired following the attack have remained fresh in the minds of peace loving citizens. In fact, security has become everybody’s business because a security lapse in the aviation industry paralyzes various sector of the economy. Today, the government has encouraged redesigning of the airport with much consideration given to security. The new concerns in the wake of 9/11 terrorist attack propose integration of security into airport design and planning. Although the airports may not accommodate redesigning of the general layout, critics agree that an
Writing a paper on the writing process is pretty hard. The writing process is different from one person to another. You come across questions like, 'What exactly is the writing process?'; and 'Must you follow one persons writing process if yours is different?'; This is where I came across the answer to my questions, write however you wish to write. If one person likes free write first and another person likes to write a draft first, let them do how they please.
The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS) forever changed the way airports were classified when it was unveiled in 1982 (Wells, 2011). The aviation industry had grown significantly since deregulation went into effect, and a new system needed to be put in place that would distinguish airports with incredible growth and expansion from those that served niche markets or flight training (Wells). Under the NPIAS, airports were broken down into three major categories: commercial services airports, reliever airports, and general aviation airports (Wells). The following paragraphs describe the three categories of airports that were created by the NPIAS, and conclude with an airport that fits into that particular category today.
Part of the challenge is getting buy in from old-time teachers that struggle with technology. It?s a matter of providing the necessary professional development so that teachers are confident. Our professional learning communities? school wide is helping. Last year the district technology director instituted district wide professional learning communities in all 1:1 classrooms. This gave teachers from other schools in the district opportunities to share what has worked in their classroom. We now have a new Technology Director and those same district wide professional learning communities are not in place for 1:1 teachers yet. Bringing back district wide PLC?s specifically for 1:1 classrooms would help improve processes in those educational
In this heavily pretreated patient population, pemetrexed, a 2nd generation antifolate agent produced an objective response of 26% (4/15) in patients with thymoma. 2 complete responses and 2 partial responses were documented, whereas there was only one partial response in patients with thymic carcinoma. The response rate of 9% in patients with thymic carcinoma suggests that pemetrexed is not active in this more aggressive phenotype. This is the first study to prospectively demonstrate the clinical activity of pemetrexed in thymic malignancies and solidifies the role of pemetrexed in the second line, and beyond in advanced thymoma. Prior to this, a Phase I trial of pemetrexed conducted in Japan demonstrated a partial response in one patient
Discuss the appropriateness of using Q methodology for the purposes of conducting social sciences research with children and adolescents, including limitations and delimitations, as well as potential risks and benefits to participating in a Q-sort process.
The high/scope method is to help children in poverty to develop their knowledge. A high/scope classroom setting provides pretend area, dramatic play, math, reading, art, and writing. The key is for educators to expose materials and activities to help with their motor skills. The classroom is also setup for children to explore sizes of materials. The book mentions “different sizes in pots and pans in the pretend area,” which helps children discover sizes.
As the research data was collected, especially with the case study comparative analysis’ between the Texas airports, the statistical occurrences began to detail flight/economic improvements, not only at Love Field, but also at Austin, DFW, Houston, and San Antonio. As seen by the data below all the major airports saw an increase in airline ridership, flights and overall operations.
Woody Holton reveals the motives of the Founding Fathers depend widely on individual judgment of the terms under the Articles of Confederation. Holton claims that historians excessively rely on sources by the Federalist which reveals a prejudiced Federalist view (Hollitz, 110). Woody Holton uses the writings of James Madison and Alexander Hamilton to expose the Founding Fathers deeper motives in writing the Constitution. The Founding Fathers were frustrated because state legislatures had been given in to popular demands to reduce taxes and increase the money supply (for relief from the recession). While citizens were behind on their taxes; states were unable to pay interest on bonds, which crippled the government operations
For this written assignment, I will imagine that I am on a team in my workplace and have identified a new best practice to implement. I will describe the steps of implementing this practice and research about how change comes about in the workplace. I will check policies and procedures in my workplace and may need to speak to a supervisor who has experience in this area. I will provide literature and support on why this change needs to occur. I will provide references on this material and a conclusion.
Miami International Airport (MIA) is one of the largest airports in the US. This case study gives the information on the airport, its history and some background. A report provides the information on the ownership type of the airport and its owner. I tried to enlist specific issues and certain facts about the operations and financial information.
1. David’s primary purpose in sending a message is to inform the reader that the car company will not honour the customer’s claim. The writer’s priority is to inform the reader that the company would like to honour the claim, but point out that it could not happen because the warranty is expired.
"With the development and perceived legitimacy of both qualitative and quantitative research in social and human sciences, mixed methods research, employing the combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches, has gained popularity." (Creswell, p. 203). Describe the development of mixed methodology in educational research. Discuss the steps that need to be taken to develop a viable mixed methods research study.
