In conclusion, all the four assessments showed my leadership qualities and areas need to be enriched. Student leadership inventory showed the three areas I need to focus which are 'Inspire a Shared Vision, challenge the Process, and Encourage the Heart'. Success in enterprise and in life has been, is now, and will continue to be a function of how well people work and engage with each other. Success in leadership depends on our capacity to build and sustain collaborative human relationships. Emotional Quotient Survey exposed my emotional intelligence and I was surprised at my weaknesses. I need to really work hard on my emotional intelligence attributes in order to be an effective leader. Meyer-Briggs Personality Assessment revealed my personality
For my research, I have selected to review the Myers-Briggs type indicator personality test. The authors of the test are Katharine Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers. Katherine and Isabel are a mother and daughter team that worked on the test together. They were influenced by the Swiss psychologist, Carl Jung. In 1921, he published his ideas regarding different personality. Since Catherine and Isabel had many of the same ideas and agreed with his published work, they conducted research throughout the 40s, 50s and 60s in order to get additional information for their own test. (The Myers Briggs Personality Test Why Should I Use It?, 2011) The instrument was first finalized and published in 1943, but almost 37 years
Organizational behavior is the driving force that guides a company along its path in business. The individuals that make up the company all have different personalities and temperaments, each interprets the actions of coworkers, supervisors, and administration differently. The Myers-Briggs personality test breaks down the main drivers of personalities and places it in a four-letter series. This test describes each personality type, the strengths, the weaknesses, and how a personality type perceives the world. Learning about personality types helps a person relate with others in a personal and business relationship.
This past Friday the Myers-Briggs test determined my personality to be within the INFJ category. The character description helped me to identify different aspects of my personality, and I have reviewed the major ways I communicate with others and progress through various emotions. The career page encouraged me to consider possible careers matching the conditions under which I best thrive. The review also pinpointed my God-given gifts, showing my role in His will.
According to the Myers Briggs Personality test, I am a Logistician. The first letter in the corresponding acronym is I, meaning introverted. I enjoy being around people, but it is draining. A few days before school, a group of friends, I believe five, went to get ice cream. We had fun talking about ours summers and the upcoming school year.
After taking the Meyers-Briggs personality test under ther personal of Goneril, I learned that she has an ESFP personality type. This means she is 47% extravert, 69% sensing, 3% feeling, and 34% perceiving. All of this shows that she loves excitement and parties, as well as anything new, such as fashion or technology.
Do you know what personality type you are? There are eight personality types in the Myers- Briggs personality test. The eight personality types are Extravert, Introvert, Sensing, Intuition, Thinking, Feeling, Judging, and Perceiving. E is for Extravert which means to act before you think. I is for Introvert which means to think before you act. S is for Sensing which means using ones five senses to observe based on thoughts and actions on concrete things. Also, not trusting your gut feeling. N is for Intuition which relies more on abstract or theoretical information rather than previous thoughts and experiences from others. T is for Thinking which means making decisions on what seems logical and reasonable without using your feelings. F is for Feeling which means using your emotions and empathy of a decision based on people being affected on the outcome. J is for Judging which is a person that has a plan that is organized, prepared, and always on time. P is for Perceiving which means to plan as they go and are more flexible. This person is also adaptive and is up for new challenges as well as opportunities. The Myers-Briggs profile is based on Carl Jung the Neo-Freudian theorist. Which profile do you think you would fall under just by reading what each letter means? Now take The Jung Typology Test and see if the four letters you picked as being you are the same the test profiled you as being, you will be surprise of the outcome!
In order to demonstrate my leadership development, I will complete an assessment of my personal leadership styles and behaviours, as evidenced through a series of validated self assessment methodologies and tools. My self reflection will include a summary of leadership strengths and weaknesses, in
The personality assessment inventory tests provide results on my individual personality, values, motivation, decision making, communication, team skills, conflict skills, organizational structure preference, and stress. These results are broken down briefly in three parts and do not include any personal speculation or analysis as to their meaning. The application of these results are further applied and explains how the results noted from the tests and in the first step will make me a better employee, co-worker, and manager within my organization. These tests mentioned above are applied in conjunction with particular examples on how I can achieve becoming a better employee, co-worker, and manager. An explanation of how my personality and experiences were affected by the Holy Spirit is also discussed. Particularly, how potential weaknesses have become strengths with the guidance of the Lord.
During week one of the course, I completed a project that allowed me to identify my strongest and weakest leadership traits. The project required input from six individuals with whom I have a professional relationship. They rated me in different areas based on a scale, to determine the results. I also rated myself, and when I compiled the data I was able to identify the areas of leadership that I am strongest and weakest. The results are:
“Live life to the fullest, and focus on the positive.” - Matt Cameron. In my opinion, part of living life to the fullest is being outgoing. This is due to the fact that I am an Extrovert. As an extrovert, I both engage and initiate conversation, I prefer to lead, and I have high energy levels.
These questions always make me smile because it causes me to think about my life and what I have done with it in for the brief period I have lived. To truly portray my unique characteristics I would like to briefly mention my personality type. About a year ago I took a Myers Briggs Personality Test and from that I learned a lot about who I am. The results of that tests was not a surprise to me because it more or less confirmed who I am. I am classified as an ISTJ personality type, and to keep things brief the ISTJ personality type defines people as a more serious, quiet, shy natured individual. Keeping that in mind, imagine someone who is introverted in nature, but is willing go out of their comfort zone and take on new challenges each day
The term personality is used to describe a representative of a person’s patterns in behavior, ways of thinking and feeling, and social traits. The American Psychology Association states that the study of personality is to understand the individual differences in personality characteristics as well as understanding the different parts of one’s personality that contribute to their whole self (Kazdin, 2000). One form of personality assessment is categorized as structured, also known as objective assessment. Objective assessment is a standardized self- report measure that typically comes in a forced- answer format (Hays, p. 256). This type of personality assessments helps clinicians gather data that reveals a person’s specific personality traits
In the first week of class, we were asked to complete the Myers Briggs Personality test, and then to read up on our results. Once I had completed the typology “test”, I received my results in the form of four letters: INTJ, and afterwards, I decided to view what the four letters represented. Likewise, once I had begun to read the explanation provided by the website, I found that I was agreeing with several of the sentiments, as I felt it not only described my personality to near perfection, but also for the reason of how it was allowing me to come to better understand and accept myself. In other words, I felt that the results were self-fulfilling since they reflected upon who I am, and also, who I am not. For instance, I have found that
I also believe that an effective leader plays a significant role in promoting and molding individuals’ readiness as it relates to motivation and commitment. As such, I developed my leadership assessment with these points in mind. The assessment focuses on 14 attributes that I believe are important not only for a leader to be successful within the parameters of the SLT, but for most any leadership model adopted by a successful leader in the modern business environment. The assessment was completed by Bobby, my manager of nearly six years, and by Katrina, my highest-ranking direct report of nearly four years. Each was asked to assign a candid rating to each attribute using a one-to-ten (worst-to-best) scale as well as to make notes or offer any suggestions so that I may incorporate it into my leadership style in an effort to improve the areas of weakness and become a better leader. In addition, I did a self-assessment using the same criteria. It should be noted that while Bobby offered both a ranking and narrative feedback, Katrina completed the assessment using the numerical ranking only. The results were consistent in some areas and mixed in others, but revealed some valuable information that I can use not only within the context of this course, but also as my career is better defined over time.
For the Myers-Briggs Test, there are limited of words for describing personality. I believe there should be more words for personality description because people are different. Anyways, some of the descriptions are accurate to my self-description personality paper. However, some are less like my personality. The personality that most accurate with my self-description is introvert. There is no surprise that introvert has the highest percentage in this personality test. In the first assignment, I described myself as shy, secretive, and quiet, which all of them fit into the introvert category. In addition, I prefer to be by myself rather than at a place where there are many people and noises. As mention in my previous assignments that I tend
