It was a beautiful day in Miami. The skies were blue and the sun was shining. Marisa was walking down the street with her best friend, about to enter a party. While walking there, her best friend, Nora, saw an antique shop and wanted to enter. Marisa didn’t have a good feeling about it. Nora begged and begged, but instead of listening to her gut, Marisa gave in. When they walked in there were lots of old, antique items, clothes, and jewlery. A little old lady walked out, from the back, and asked the girls if the needed anything, but the girls were fine. After about 5 min, Marisa was getting mad, because they were missing the party. But Nora wanted to look around and finally found something she liked. It was a little clock. Around the same time,
Jacksonville and Miami while both in Florida are still very different. Having vacationed in Miami a lot while living in Jacksonville the difference between the two are abundant. The cities are only a 5-hour drive apart from each other but with all their differences they seem like a different world. Some of the main difference I noticed while visiting Miami was the night life, the beaches, and the amount of Spanish spoken in the two cities.
Jeannette Walls was in a taxi wondering if she had been overdressed for the evening. She was stuck in traffic when she saw her mother Rose 15 feet away. Her mother had tied rags around her shoulder while a black and white terrier mix was beside her. When Rose looked up, Jeannette panicked and thought her mother would see her and shout her name and that someone from the party would spot them together. Jeannette immediately turned her taxi around and went home. She felt ashamed of herself because she was living this nice life, living in Park Avenue and wearing pearls. While her parents were probably huddled on a sidewalk keeping warm and finding something to eat. Jeannette called her mother's friend and left a message, this was the way she would
The final planned section of the Little Miami Scenic Trail opens May 1 for walking, jogging or running, biking, and in-line skating. The Little Miami rail trail is a paved trail that follows the abandoned railroad route of the Little Miami Railroad from Milford (east of Cincinnati) to Springfield. For most of the trail’s length, a grassy strip runs beside it for horseback riding and runners and walkers who want to feel ground below their feet!. The trail is crossed by a number of roads, but only a few blocks of the trail in Xena share the road with cars. Ample parking is provided at each end of the trail, with numerous access locations along its route. Restrooms, restaurants, and picnic facilities are also available at intervals along the trail.
The story of Miami begins more than 10,000 years ago with a settlement of Paleo-Indians along the edge of south Biscayne Bay near today’s Charles Deering Estate. Many millennia later, Tequesta Indians entered the lush, subtropical area and built settlements stretching from the Florida Keys to Broward County, with the largest concentrations along the north bank of the Miami River and on Key Biscayne.
Miami starts with Paleo-Indians settling then numerous years later, Tequesta Indians came and settled all the way from the Keys to Broward County with the largest population density along the part of the Miami River and Key Biscayne. After the Spanish arrived in 1513, the lifestyle of the Tequesta Indians deteriorated. The Spanish introduced disease and war which wreaked havoc on the Tequesta Indians. After a mere 250 years of the arrival of the Spanish, the Tequestas and other native populations in Florida were nearly gone. In 1821, Florida was sold to the United States of America for five million dollars in Spanish damage claims against the American government. After a year Florida became a territory which signified the beginning of its journey
During the year of 1845 a modern day marvel was completed. This feat of modern engineering allowed people and goods alike to travel from the Great Lakes to the Ohio River on a moderately quick and cost effective route. To be completely specific the name of this route would later be known as the Miami Erie Canal. Notably, the canal is known for being the driving force behind the economy and growth in the majority of small towns along the canal. For this reason the canal should be celebrated for its contributions to the development of northwest Ohio.
Although the pay is not good Better Way of Miami has given me a great opportunity to work with individuals who are homeless, substance abuse issues, and HIV positive. I really love working with this population mainly because the clients have taught me some much about appreciating life and how to effectively interact with people in a mindful and empathic
As Anna is watching her sister and her friends, she steams up a crazy idea that she is going to the party too. The time comes for all the girls to leave, so they all hop in the car and head to the party. What they do not know is little Anna secretly followed them on her bike. Anna, pedaling as fast as she can, she finally arrives at the party. She begins to walk around, and she is mesmerized. Everyone is dancing and having the time of their life. While keeping an eye out for her older sister Alice, she gets a little thirsty. She grabbed a drink off of a table and realized it tasted a little funny, but that didn’t bother Anna. As she’s walking around looking at everyone she starts to feel a little light-headed, and she passes out under a tree. When she wakes up, she sees that everything was different, even her. She was a big girl now, just like she wanted. She takes off walking home, as she sees many homeless people on the streets she gets confused. Anna walks past a store and sees a calendar, it’s the year 1932, twenty years later. Anna arrives home feeling very disarranged. She sees that her family is now poor, and
One day in Lindley Middle School there were two girls in Mr. Foreman’s classroom and their names were Anazia Maisonet-Snell and Lanecia Hayward. So as they were just sitting in class doing their work Lanecia decided she was going to take Anazia’s pencil case because her pencil broke and when Anazia saw Lanecia took her pencil case Anazia said, “Give me back my pencil case” and Lanecia didn’t which made Anazia very upset. Then Anazia got louder because she knew that that would make Lanecia give back her pencil case. Since Lanecia gave Anazia back her pencil case Lanecia didn’t bother trying to take it again.
Do you know why many people like to live in Miami? Miami is a popular city in the United States, so a lot of people like to live there. Miami became popular because manyof causes and there are many reason to live in Miami, public transportation, weather and restaurants.
Before coming to Miami, I used to live in a small city in Colombia called Barranquilla, where the weather is really hot like in Florida, but very humid. When the rain season comes, is when people usually get sick with the flu. As you see people sneezing, coughing, with high fever and headaches there is a pretty good chance to get infected too. September 2007 is a time that I will never forget because it changed my life forever. I have always worked as an esthetician, where to be in contact with people is part of my job. During that month the weather was really bad, there was a lot of rain and it was very windy. People were getting really sick with all kinds of symptoms related to the flu virus and I started feeling the same way too. Usually
That day, when I applied to South Dade was a choice that I didn't really care for at all. To me, it really didn't matter what school I go to, one bit but to finish high school. Until all my year's of being in South Dade. Not knowing what I will become in the future or what to do with my life at all one bit. So, I just started at the base and tried out for clubs and tried new things that I can take in. To give me a sign of what I want to be in life. So, after going to several clubs and noticing I have no interest in them. And just gave up. Till I heard about one club from a friend of mines in the hallway. As I was really interested because it was part of a hobby I like to do and that was cooking.
When Kristina and Brandon got married they decided to open a CrossFit Prevail Gym in McHenry Illinois. Brandon dressed and went downstairs to eat breakfast then headed out the door to get to the gym to coach the 5am WOD class at the gym then head to his job afterward. When Brandon left it was 4:45am Kristina lied back down and fell back to sleep. When the second alarm went off at 6:45am Kristina found a little munchkin in bed with her it was Chase. He had snuck into her room to give her morning cuddles. After morning snuggles both Kristina and Chase got up and went to wake the girls for school. Running in and jumping on his sisters Chase finally awoke them and they all headed down stairs for breakfast. While all three children ate their cereal and watch cartoons. Kristina went up to take a quick shower and dress herself to take the kiddos to school. After finishing their cereal, the three children all went upstairs to get dressed. Madison the oldest dressed herself, made herself a lunch and packed her bag for school. As Madison was finishing packing her bag Makenna came down the stairs to pack her bag. After dressing Chase Kristina came down stairs to help her children. Kristina made Makenna a lunch and packed Chase a snack for preschool. “Get your shoes on” Kristina yelled as she turned off the lights and television. By the time that everyone got out of the house and into the car
Ms. Stephanie saw Miranda walking around squatting and crossing her legs and said “Miranda do you need to use the restroom I will hold your babies.” Miranda walked towards me and ignored Ms. Stephanie. I said “Miranda why don’t you go to the restroom and I will watch over your babies for you until you get back. I promise I will take really good care of them.” Miranda gave me her baby dolls and ran to the restroom where Ms. Alyssa helped her use the restroom. After Miranda came out of the restroom she washed her hands and then ran over to me to get her babies. I said “Here they are Miranda I kept them nice and safe.” Miranda said “Thank you!” I played with Siba and baby for a while longer. I put baby on an airplane and pretended to fly the puppy around Siba giggled. Ms. Alyssa told the children that it was time to get back on the circle time carpet so that they could read a book and pick the line leader for that day. Ms. Alyssa asked me if I would read the children a story before going outside. I read two books to the children both were about insects and the last book was called Mr. Bumble. After reading the two books Chase got picked as line leader for the
One night a young girl named Lily Foster is left alone for the night in her very large country house, while her parents drove out of town for a party. This was fine with Lily especially since she had her faithful dog, Scout, and her cell phone. Finally, her parents said, ‘’Be safe and don’t go outside.’’ Lily gave them a hug and said, ‘’Of course and have fun!’’ Once her parents drove off in their car, she made herself something to eat and sat down at the kitchen table.
