Masculine and feminine principles are found in every living human being. The presence of both principles makes a person complete. Some of the prinipals may be stronger in one person than another. The feminine principles are usually associated with the moon because of the moon's cycle with the reproductive cycle of the female and with the fertility of the land. The sun is a masculine principle because in many cultures it symbolizes heroism and courage and is thought of as the light of conscious knowledge. Through time a society’s view of masuline and feminine principals are altered. In the four decades between Walt Disney’s Cinderella (1955) and Michael Eisner’s Beauty and the Beast (1991) society’s veiw of men and women can be seen. …show more content…

Cinderella is a weak female in the story and is portrayed as a stereotypical character of a weak female. Doing what she is told to do for others first then if she has time, do things for herself. Throughout the story, the Stepmother is very evil towards her and her only goal is to have one of her girls to marry Prince Charming. Prince Charming’s father, the King, feels that it is time that his son marries and invites all of the available maidens in the kingdom to the castle hoping that one of them will catch his eye and they will want to be married. When the stepsisters get their invitation to the ball they order Cinderella in addition to her regular duties to help them get ready for the ball. Cinderella asked her stepmother if she could go and her stepmother said she could go if she got all of her chores done and could find a suitable dress to wear. Cinderella worked all day doing her chores and while she was doing them the mice that Cinderella took care of, made Cinderella a beaurtiful ball gown out of materials they found laying around the house. When Cinderella put the dress on and went downstairs to leave for the ball in the carraige with her stepsisters and stepmother,
