Michael Jackson in his early years of the Jackson Five
There are many major popular music figures in America, but one that stands out
would be Michael Jackson. He had a long successful career starting out as a young boy.
Through out his career one era that stood out was his family band called The Jackson
Five. The members that where also in this band were family members such as Jackie,
Tito, Jermaine and Marlon Jackson. Michael Jackson was a member of the Jackson Five
at age four, and then eventually he was the lead singer and front man of the family band.
Michael Jackson was the most important person in the whole band, he was the only
one who became a successful solo artist after the Jackson five band

Then after said and done they were officially signed and moved out to California and
lived with Berry Gordy and many other famous artists such as the Supremes. Jackson five
reached many songs on top of the billboard chart. The Jackson Fives first single as a
band was " I Want You Back " and " Who's Loving You". As the family group
proceeded on in the music industry they made history by having four of their songs
become number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. the three songs were " I Want You
Back", "ABC" and "I'll Be There". Jackson five won many wonderful and amazing
accomplishments and awards such as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 and in 1999
they received an achievement at the Grammy Hall of Fame. They had many number one
hits and number one albums. Their success as a band was endless. Even when Michael
left the Jackson five group he still Continued to achieve awards and number one hits. The
band went on making music, eventually Michael left the group including Marlon Jackson,
because Motown was not giving them the freedom of their music and how they wanted to
come across to their fans, they wanted creative freedom and the record label was not

Michael went on with a solo career and the remaining four family members recorded
touring her song hit number one on the radio. From their she was famous and

According to Billboard he sold more than 1 billion copies and also no other artist has sold more copies than Michael. Now let us talk about Mr. Jackson. With just few albums i.e. 6 he is the second solo artist to sell most No.1 of albums all around the world. Michael Jackson released albums with almost a 5 years gap and wrote most of his songs. At that time competition was so much and Michael was a black artist so the struggles were different. Elvis reached his heyday at a different time than Michael Jackson. He was the biggest phenomenon ever to hit the music scene in his era. With the colossal success and impact of another cultural presence, Michael Jackson, succeeding and somewhat occluding him.
