The economy of the province of Ontario is the largest in Canada and is rich and diversified. Ontario’s main international export is from the automotive sector with more than 30 % of all its exports. Even though we rarely hear about it in the news; Ontario, of all Canadian provinces, also has the largest base of Office Furniture Manufacturers. Ontario also hosts many generic pharmaceutical companies and defense related industries.
Many of these industries are already customers of Micom for material testing or could use our services. Indeed, being the largest office furniture test laboratory in Canada, Micom already works with many of the large and small players in that industry offering them a one stop shopping solution for additional test
Its total export or import is rising which is improving the economy of Toronto as a whole and all other neighbor districts.
Titans of industry The Titans of Industry, like Carnegie, Rockefeller, and J.P Morgan, were big players during the Gilded Age in the late 19th century. They were crucial for America's economic growth: They drove industrialization, making America a strong economic force. Their businesses created jobs and made things more efficient, boosting the economy. They invested in projects like railroads, making it easier to move goods and people across the country. This laid the groundwork for more economic growth.
Currently, Canada is economically heavily dependent on larger economic countries for research and development and new technologies. Canada also has always been dependent on the extraction of its primary products for export to other countries. "As far back as 1963 as much as sixty percent of the manufacturing industry was owned by firms whose head office lay outside the region or in foreign countries" (www.Statisticscanada/local/stateprov/ont.html. October 5, 2001).
At Prairie Provinces there has three province Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. The capital city of Manitoba is Winnipeg , the capital of Saskatchewan is Regina and the capital city of Alberta is Edmonton. The Prairie Provinces has the mostly dry with cold winters and hot summers. Agriculture, mining and hydro-electric power generation is economy of Manitoba's. the most famous street intersection in Canada, Portage and Main is Winnipeg city. Getting chosen to work in the Lowell Mills was a gift many young girls in the New England States initially aspired to achieve. The Lowell Mills was a group of factories built in the 1820’s for the manufacture of textiles (GilderLehrman.org, 2015). Increasing population numbers in the United States required more goods made from cotton that required milling and weaving into useable products. Expanding on roles women performed during the War of 1812 and wanting additional compensation and recognition for their work, young girls left their families and went to work in one of these mills. Enticing the girls with promises of tolerable working conditions, a formal education, and comfortable living quarters, the owners of the factories were able to recruit the girls at a lesser wage than what was paid to men (Tindall & Shi, 2013). Eventually rapid growth and unfavorable working conditions led others to question whether factory work was the proper work environment for young girls.
It is situated in western region of Canada and has the fastest expanding economy which is entirely based upon its natural resources. Alberta not only consist Canada’s two huge cities, named as Calgary and Edmonton but also is the most populated province within the nation’s three famous 'Prairie provinces'.
These two regions offer unique opportunities for more innovative and creative forms of economic development. North-eastern Ontario has a larger population than the North-western Ontario since it’s closely tied to mining. Whereas, North-western Ontario is closely tied to forestry therefore experiencing a lesser population. The economy in the North-western Ontario faced a downturn during the forest sector crisis with the region outside of Thunder Bay bearing the brunt of the employment and population adjustment. The North-eastern has been sustained by its mining sector , however there is a redistribution of population towards the five largest urban centres including Greater Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie , North Bay (53,966),
Economies: Ontario is one of the biggest economies in Canada. Ontario has the biggest GDP and there’s is as much
The province of Quebec does possess the power and resources to be an independent country. Quebec has an abundance of natural resources, including its forests, mines and renewable energy. Quebec is home to many lakes and rivers, such as the Rupert River, which provide clean, contaminant free water and hydroelectric power for its residents. Quebec has approximately thirty mines, resulting in being a major producer of metal and jewels such as: iron, zinc, nickel, copper, diamonds, gold, and many others. These mines are a positive influence on the economy, for it provides a multitude of jobs for the unemployed. Quebec is also the focal point of all economic activities in Canada.
The manufacturing industry was once a very large part of Ontario’s economy. We are seeing more and more manufacturing businesses disappearing and moving elsewhere. Ontario has a great potential to be a manufacturing powerhouse but the current situation is not attractive for many companies: “If a particular country has a lower price, the other countries will buy” (DPE 134). Because of the current value of the Canadian Dollar, manufacturing companies in Ontario could potentially export to the United States and make a greater profit because of the dollar. This is not the case as Ontario has seen a drastic drop in its GDP in the past ten years because of many manufacturing companies setting up elsewhere3. There are many reasons why this is but a large factor is the minimum wage on Ontario. Ontario, like many other countries has a minimum wage that employers must pay to its employees. Many countries in Asia or Latin America do not have a minimum wage so employers can pay their employees significantly less4. As the government continues to raise concerns about raising the minimum wage once again many manufacturing businesses are becoming anxious about if they too should move to an off shore location as this could be a potential cost savings for their company. The government and its economists will need to continue to analyze to see if raising the minimum wage
The province substantial natural resources have long been the mainstay of its economy such as a aerospace. Information and communication technologies, biotechnologies, and the pharmaceutical industry play leading roles. All of these industries have helped quebec become an economically dominant province within canada, second only to ontario, in economic output.
Other countries have high unemployment rates whereas Canada has strong economic freedom with a score of 79.1. This means that Canada provides freedom to its citizens to work in any aspect they wish to work as long as they qualify. Canada does not discriminate against people when it comes to job opportunities. All citizens have an equal opportunity towards employment. Throughout many years since World War 2, agriculture production was more efficient, and manufacturing and services grew rapidly. This is a pull factor because when you live in an area without these things, you grow into not loving where you are and feel like you should live in an area provided with a better sense of economy. Living in a country where the growth of agriculture and manufacturing industries is growing so rapidly, allows for many job opportunities for those living in the country. Canada has a numerous amount of job opportunities leaving almost every citizen with a job when they require one. Recently, the minimum wage for employment also has gone up to $11.00 an hour. This shows that Canada is willing to make those changes to their employment rates according to the economy in order to allow everyone to live a stable

“There is no real clear provincial leader in the healthcare field. Some provinces who receive top rankings in one area could be dead last in another.” (http://www.seiuhealthcare.ca/comparing_provincial_healthcare_plans). Ontario ranges from being the best to somewhere in the high-middle for all of these areas, the only thing really lacking is nursing homes – “Ontario only beds 45 beds per 1,000 seniors over the age of 65.” The leading provinces in senior care are Manitoba with 60% and Saskatchewan with 50%, the lowest being Quebec, who only have 31 beds for 1000 senior citizens. Ontario is one of the best in dental care, while Quebec offers the least coverage. Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta are the best for keeping prescription drug prices low. Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Ontario have the most
