Micro Evolution: The Unmoved Mover Of God

Decent Essays

Throughout centuries scientists, philosophers, and theologians have tried to discover a way to explain the creation of the world and the creation of man. Micro evolution and macro evolution are two different types of evolutions that scientists believe to be the causes of the flourishment of the world. Macro evolution is an evolutionary change that applies to the evolution of whole taxonomic groups over long periods of time. This type of evolution applies to an evolution of a species such as a monkey to a man. Micro evolution is an evolutionary change within a species or small group of organisms, or particles especially over a short period of time. Micro evolution applies to natural selection, and organisms adapting to climate change and resistance …show more content…

The theory of contingency is about actuality, and everything relies on something. An organism or particle cannot begin to evolve on their own, they need a mover and a cause to the evolution. We truly don’t know how old the earth is. For in the Bible it says “In the beginning God created the heaven and earth,” and there is a period of time were we are not sure how much time elapsed. The unmoved mover of God could have a created a world that already was a billion years old, and could have propelled an evolution of particles to evolve the development of the planet. The transcendental soul represents that humans have evolved throughout generations to adapt to their environment. However, the soul is more than just a biological substance, for our soul lives on. The transcendental soul leads into macroevolution. I personally do not believe in macroevolution. I find the idea that I came from a monkey to be incredibly insulting, I do not like to think I came from a being that eats insects found on their back. I believe that God created human beings apart from animals. Animals do not have souls like humans do, they do not discern over instinct, they do not have the concept of …show more content…

Therefore, if we are made in the image of Christ, if we are created to be the exact picture of Christ, we are claiming as a society that Christ is in an essence of a monkey. For if we evolved from apes, then Christ must have too. However, Anselm of Canterbury states that God is different, meaning he would not have evolved from monkeys, and that as humans would not have been created in the image and likeness of Christ. Permitting to what Avery Dulles stated on evolution that is evolution is most reasonable and responsible. The soul is an intentional act of God, however, God did not just decide to put a soul into a random evolved monkey, and this would contradict the nothing comes from nothing argument. If there was no soul in the beginning of the evolution process, then no soul would randomly appear in a being. God purposely created human beings to be the extension of himself, to have human learn about him, love him, serve him, and remain happy for eternity with him. I am not a biologist but I know for a fact that an ape has no concept of serving or remaining in communication with Christ for eternity. The reason macroevolution evolved is due to the similarities that one sees in the
