Throughout centuries scientists, philosophers, and theologians have tried to discover a way to explain the creation of the world and the creation of man. Micro evolution and macro evolution are two different types of evolutions that scientists believe to be the causes of the flourishment of the world. Macro evolution is an evolutionary change that applies to the evolution of whole taxonomic groups over long periods of time. This type of evolution applies to an evolution of a species such as a monkey to a man. Micro evolution is an evolutionary change within a species or small group of organisms, or particles especially over a short period of time. Micro evolution applies to natural selection, and organisms adapting to climate change and resistance …show more content…
The theory of contingency is about actuality, and everything relies on something. An organism or particle cannot begin to evolve on their own, they need a mover and a cause to the evolution. We truly don’t know how old the earth is. For in the Bible it says “In the beginning God created the heaven and earth,” and there is a period of time were we are not sure how much time elapsed. The unmoved mover of God could have a created a world that already was a billion years old, and could have propelled an evolution of particles to evolve the development of the planet. The transcendental soul represents that humans have evolved throughout generations to adapt to their environment. However, the soul is more than just a biological substance, for our soul lives on. The transcendental soul leads into macroevolution. I personally do not believe in macroevolution. I find the idea that I came from a monkey to be incredibly insulting, I do not like to think I came from a being that eats insects found on their back. I believe that God created human beings apart from animals. Animals do not have souls like humans do, they do not discern over instinct, they do not have the concept of …show more content…
Therefore, if we are made in the image of Christ, if we are created to be the exact picture of Christ, we are claiming as a society that Christ is in an essence of a monkey. For if we evolved from apes, then Christ must have too. However, Anselm of Canterbury states that God is different, meaning he would not have evolved from monkeys, and that as humans would not have been created in the image and likeness of Christ. Permitting to what Avery Dulles stated on evolution that is evolution is most reasonable and responsible. The soul is an intentional act of God, however, God did not just decide to put a soul into a random evolved monkey, and this would contradict the nothing comes from nothing argument. If there was no soul in the beginning of the evolution process, then no soul would randomly appear in a being. God purposely created human beings to be the extension of himself, to have human learn about him, love him, serve him, and remain happy for eternity with him. I am not a biologist but I know for a fact that an ape has no concept of serving or remaining in communication with Christ for eternity. The reason macroevolution evolved is due to the similarities that one sees in the
According to Darwin, man is a product of a mindless, chance algorithmic process. He believed that humans and nature evolved through a process of chance mutations that have thus far resulted in us and the rest of the natural world. He believes there is no soul, that humans are tantamount to nature, and that the world is a machine. I agree with Darwin on a few levels; yes, species change over time. Yes, usually the stronger survive more often than the weaker. Yes, nature does follow a series of governing laws that makes it much like a machine. However, Darwin made a lofty assumption in claiming that because of these things, species were not independently created. This tossing away the idea of a creator and intelligent design disposes the possibility of the existence of a soul independent of the body. Existence is about surviving. If life really is about “the survival of the fittest,” then what’s so great about life if it’s
a. Microevolution: evolutionary change below the species level; change in the genetic makeup of a population from generation to generation. It is evolutionary change on its smallest scale
Charles Darwin proposed the theory of evolution to explain the origin, diversity and complexity of life. I will will disprove evolution by showing that natural selection only explains small evolutionary changes, collectively known as microevolution. Natural selection cannot drive large evolutionary changes, macroevolution. I will also show that the primordial soup, in which life supposedly evolved, did not exist.
This is incorrect because the theory of evolution is that men evolved from monkey. This means that men took the basics from the monkey, but altogether became more advanced than the animal. So no, if we did evolve from the monkey that does not mean that we need to act exactly like them. I believe that God put man onto this earth, but that does not mean that I act exactly like God. I am a person who has sinned, but God has never sinned therefore I do not act completely like him. Someone in the movie also stated, “man did not evolve from ape, but ape devolved from man.” I don’t know what theory this comes from, or if it even comes from a theory, but I do not agree with it. Does it mean that man came before the monkey and the monkey became less advance than the man? I don’t know how that works.
Microevolution: evolutionary change within a species or small group of organisms, especially over a short period. Basically, microevolution studies small changes in alleles that occur within a population. Over time, these small
The literature on Intelligent Design and Macroevolution suggests that Intelligent Design is a viable alternative to Macroevolution. Charles Darwin in his book On The Origin of Species wrote the greatest flaw in his theory was the lack of intermediate forms in the fossil record, but he thought more would be discovered as time went on. Contrary to Darwin’s belief Paleontologist Stephen Jay Gould found that most species exhibit no change in the fossil record and appear in the
In contrast to the humanist’s worldview that everything happened by chance, Christians believe that from the beginning, everything that exists, including humans was the result of God. Now Christians do believe in micro-evolution, also known as adaption, where an animal can endure some changes to help itself adapt to a different condition, but will never form into a different species. There is still no scientific evidence that can prove otherwise. God made sure of this when he was creating all living things that he kept all species “according to its kind” (Genesis 1:21-25).
1. Evolutionary theory describes how populations change over time due to changes in the gene pool. There are several mechanisms that can change a gene pool and allow evolution to occur. Natural selection, mutation, gene flow and genetic drift are some of the driving forces behind evolutionary change. Natural selection and genetic drift are the mechanisms that decrease genetic variation, whereas gene flow and mutation are the driving mechanism to increase genetic variation. Natural selection is basically the understanding that the environment can not support unlimited population growth, and not all organisms are able to reproduce to their full potential due to trait variation. For example, a black fly may
Define evolution? A slow change of something into better form. The word evolution means change, and the process of evolution reflects this definition as it applies to populations of organisms. Biological populations are groups of individuals of the same species that are sub-divided from other populations by geography and are somewhat independent of other groups. Biological evolution, then, is a change in the characteristics of a biological population that occurs over the course of generations. The changes in populations that are considered evolutionary are those that are inherited via genes. Changes that may take place in populations due only to short-term changes in their environment are not
Evolution is the change in the inherited characteristic of biological populations over successive generations (Wikipedia). The most notable theory of evolution was Charles Darwin’s speculation about natural selection. Natural selection is the process by which nature rewards those individuals better adapted to their environments with survival and reproductive success, defined by Ker Than, a Senior Editor in TechNewsDaily on livescience.com. Darwin published the first edition of “The Origin of Species” in 1859, in which Darwin theorized how a bear can turn in to a whale by natural selection. "I can see no difficulty in a race of bears being rendered, by natural selection, more aquatic in their structure and habits, with larger and larger mouths, till a creature was produced as monstrous as a whale," Darwin speculated (Than).
The word evolution means the process of change over a period of time. For example: plants and animals evolve over time by their genetic system allowing them to adapt to different changes in the world. The theory of evolution states animals, insects, plants, humans, and etc are all from a one-celled ancestor. A bad example of evolution is having a bad diet, which does not pass on to your next generation.
"New standards pointed out about that discrepancies in a molecular evidence has challenged the evolutionary theory of common ancestry of all living things and that whether microevolution can be extrapolated to explain macro evolutionary changes is controversial".(LeBeau, 2007)
An example of microevolution is the evolution of mosquitoes that cannot be killed by pesticides, called pesticide-resistant mosquitoes. Imagine that you have a pesticide that kills most of the mosquitoes in your state. Through a random mutation, some of the mosquitoes have resistance to the pesticide. As a result of the widespread use of this pesticide, most of the remaining mosquitoes are the pesticide-resistant mosquitoes. When these mosquitoes reproduce the next year, they produce more mosquitoes with the pesticide-resistant trait. Soon, most of the mosquitoes in your state are resistant to the pesticide.
This is apparent in their misapplication of micro and macro evolution. Microevolution is observable quantitative variation in pre-existing organs and structures while macroevolution is the inception of new genetic material in increasingly complex organisms. Microevolution is an observable process that Charles Darwin observed in the finches on the Galapagos Islands. Naturalists took the concept of microevolution and applied it to the entire genesis of life itself with unobserved macroevolution. Furthermore, it does not make rational sense for non-living matter to spontaneously create DNA and life from within itself.
Evolution refers to change over time as species modifies and separate to produce several offspring species.
