I am writing to express my interest in your opening intern position at Migrant Education. Becoming a teacher has been a lifelong dream of mine, and I have taken the first step toward fulfilling this dream. Klay tells me that this program will help grow my knowledge on student behavior. I am confident that my experiences will contribute to the quality education Migrant Education provides. I have worked very hard to know that interning at Migration Education is the best place for me to launch my future career.
I'm currently a junior at Central High School with a 3.99 GPA. I am a very organized, creative, patient, and committed person. I have a very high tolerance level. I will withstand anything that comes in my way. I have the ability to multitask
Upon review of your website, I was delighted to see the success you have had in preparing students to attend college. I was also impressed with the progress you’ve made in closing the achievement gap. I wish to help you to continue to achieve amazing results and see no better way to do so than through employment with you. My commitment to urban education is evident though my educational decisions (pursued a B.A. in Mathematics and M.S.Ed in secondary education) and experience working as a math teacher at La Granja School, a math tutor at Roberts Wesleyan College and as a student teacher at La Salle School.
I have always succeeded in all of my courses with high marks, earning a place in the National Honor Society. I have been in accelerated English, math, and science since eighth grade and took my first Advanced Placement course in tenth grade. Midway through tenth grade, I made the decision to graduate early considering my senior year would be very minimal in course work. To graduate early, I took economics independently last spring and challenged the U.S History and Government course. I am currently taking thirteen credits in college courses and going on clinical rotations three times a week in the hospital through the New Vision Medical Program.
This letter is in regards to my interest in applying for the District Training Specialist position with Buckeye Partners, L.P. I know my experience in education, health care, and information technology would be a valuable addition to your organization in this role. I believe I would excel in this position because I possess a natural passion for educating, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance.
Allowing for immigrants to be able to obtain a higher education would benefit not only themselves, but the people of America as well. There are many students who wish to obtain a more desirable education, but are not able to succeed because they are not a natural born citizen. When asked “Who is my neighbor?” Jesus responded with the parable of the Good Samaritan, a foreigner who treated a badly beaten man as the foreigner would have wished to be treated (Luke 10:25-37)” (Wellman). Our nation is filled with an extensive amount of immigrants who are devoted to make it in life and without them being able to speak English in this country, they are being blocked from following their dreams. The “American Dream” is the ideal that every U.S citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity

An issue that has become very important to me is that of fair education, specifically, in regards to ELL programs (English language learners) . This issue is very important to me because I’ve seen the struggles that immigrant students/the children of immigrants face when it come to the education system. During my early school years, I grew up in a predominantly hispanic neighborhood in East Harlem, therefore the schools in the surrounding neighborhoods had many native Spanish speakers. I didn’t encounter any problems in school with language, since English was my first language, but many of my classmates has trouble. I would often see teachers get frustrated with students when they could not communicate effectively with them. Instead of
Studies show that youth who do not perform well in school or do not like school, are more likely to be involved in delinquent behaviour. Many gang members have reported that going to school felt like a form of incarceration. Many children who don’t like school often correlate their dislike with the teachers. Also, some school environments just do not suit some children, therefore they feel trapped. Likewise, tests are set up in a way that do not acknowledge the different ways of learning, hence, scoring lower on tests and giving a negative mental image for teens that are not visual learners or auditory learners. Education is especially hard on immigrant children, since they do not speak English at home, grasping the education and understanding
Three characteristics separate me from average High School students. First of all, I have an exceedingly high work ethic. Whether it is a cross country workout, a study session for a test, or a concert band practice, I will never be outworked. In addition, I genuinely care about others. The community service I am a part of is not merely for an application, but rather for helping others and improving today’s society. Lastly, I possess the ability to deal with adversity. Even after I became sick with E-Coli for two weeks, I maintained my 4.0 GPA and worked my way back to good physical
Thank you for contacting me last Monday. At the end of our conversation, the internet signal was weak and I could not hear some parts of what you were saying to me. Therefore, I would like to restate that I am interested in applying for the Spanish Instructor position at Leidos. With a track of record of success in teaching Spanish language in The United States and managing projects in South America, I believe my experience would contribute greatly toward the continued success of your company.
I am a senior at McKeel Academy of Technology, where I am a part of National Honors Society (NHS) and two sports teams. I will graduate in May, 2018 with a 4.118 weighted grade point average, 33 dual enrollment credit hours from Polk State College and over 300 community service hours. My SAT score is 1090 and my ACT score is 23. During these last 4 years of high school I have pushed myself to work harder and harder every year.
Migrant worker refers to anyone working outside of their country of origin (Wikepia, 2016). As of 2014, the International Labor Organization (ILO), estimated that there were 232 million international migrants in the world, of which half were economically active (Wikipedia, 2016). “Immigration is often viewed as a potentially promising way of maintaining population growth (or slowing the rate of population decline) as well as helping to offset anticipated skills and labor shortages associated with the looming retirement of large numbers of skilled and experienced workers. (Ferrer. etal, 2012) Immigration is used to ameliorate the demographic challenges facing the Canadian society-ageing populations and slowly growing labor forces. (Ferrer.
Thank you so much for responding so promptly to my email. It is good to hear that Cherryland families are having access to several resources in the community. Migrant Education can be another additional service to Cherryland families that do qualify.
A migrant worker as defined by Dictionary.com as “a person who moves from place to place to get work, especially a farm laborer who harvests crops seasonally.” Why people migrate? Is it for the family? Or is it for a personal advancement? Perhaps, you wanted to build your family a big house, buy a new car and save enough money before you retire from working. It might be your dream is to work in a place surrounded by tall buildings, busy streets, cafes, theaters, and different shops. Whatever your reasons for migrating, it has something to do with the future. A better future is what you want for yourself and family. This future is something you need to ponder because there are key factors you need to consider such as mental state, emotional state, laws, cultural and social including long-term plans (if you plan to migrate permanently or temporarily) before you migrate.
I am presently seventeen years old and entering my senior year of high school. I live in a suburb of Houston, Texas. My graduating class is over four hundred strong. Although this may be considered a small high school, the population is very diverse.
The displacement of people and jobs is a negative consequence of globalization. In the cases of migrant workers, the conditions in their home countries are so poor that they think that their lives would be better if they moved to a different country to work. This often includes leaving their families and friends behind. In the country that these people are going to work, the jobs available are often unskilled labor such as harvesting crops. The reason why these jobs are available could be because few people are willing to preform these kinds of tasks for minimum wage. Per reports by National Farm Worker Ministry (2011), there have been instances when the receiving government allows the employers to pay these migrant laborers less than the standard minimum wage. The living and working conditions of these people can resemble slavery-like conditions. For instance, some migrant workers have no other choice other than to live in cramped shared housing with other workers. Even if a worker has consented to preform the work, they are receiving wages, and they have permission to leave at any time, if this worker does not have the capacity to get a better job because they are uneducated, then they are indirectly being forced to work.
