At 54 years of age Mike Bitter competed with a 24 year old to earn his 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo. According to Mike when his life is out of balance he turns to the gym and practices the art he loves, Taekwondo. Mike recently became a part owner in Theresa’s Taekwondo in LaVista, NE where he has been a student for many years. He will now be sharing his passion and love with others seeking to find harmony and balance in their own life. Owning a business is nothing new to Bitter, he has always been an entrepreneur and no matter where in the world he was living he found a way to create an extra income and acquire new business skills. He watched some businesses struggle while others flourished and the only variable was the owner’s ability to market his products or services. Mike has the heart of a true marketer and nine years ago when he decided to attend a workshop on social media marketing he quickly knew that social media would be the way marketing would go in the future. He took an online course and joined several networking groups to learn how others were utilizing social media to market their business. He quickly learned that while everyone seemed curious no one was really doing it and the general consciences was they didn’t know how or they didn’t have time. Again, Mike saw this as an opportunity and began studying everything he could about social media and email marketing. He began to attract the attention of several business owners who wanted to hire him to help with their social media marketing. From this seed, Affordable Social Media, Inc. was born. Today, Mike Bitter teaches classes all over Omaha and the United States to small business owners who realize they need to be engaged on the web but are not quite sure how to do it. Mike earned his first black belt when he was 16 and now, 38 years later he is still learning and improving his skill. He is a born teacher and loves sharing what he knows with others whether it is on the mat or in the board room. Mike’s military career has also come full circle from being the student to being the teacher. Today he teaches classes to military families getting ready to transition through the Transition Assistance Program (TAP). He also works with the Boots to Business Program teaching military personnel who want to own a business how to market themselves through a program he developed called Marketing Yourself Through Social Media which has a beginning and advanced
