There are professional teams that have several promotions throughout their calendar year. Most promotions are created for fans and non-fans to experience the professional sport atmosphere. Some promotions are successful for different organizations and some have no impact on ticket sales because people or fans are not interested. During a team’s bad season these promotions are essential for ticket sales. As a Military veteran I have had the opportunity to attend some events that are focused on Military Appreciation. The Military Appreciation events give soldiers, past or present, the opportunity to see and experience any event that they have not yet seen. The Texas Rangers have several promotion during their long 162 game season. The promotion
This set up, in theory benefits both the organization and the attendee as the attendee receives a surplus from attending the game now instead of a loss, and the organization has increased the revenue generated from the game at a small cost. However, this model only works so much as the demand for the promotional day is high, i.e. a Chipper Jones Bobblehead day is only once a season causing the demand to go to such an exclusive event at Turner Field, the former home of the Atlanta Braves, to be higher when compared to if this Chipper Jones Bobblehead promotion were every day. The cost of producing such a large amount of bobbleheads would cause the benefit of having a promotion to decrease in the long run as attendance would return to what would be considered a normal, nonpromotional night, negating the effects of having a promotional day all together. This is why clubs do not have promotional nights every night as it would have a negative effect on
Having the ability to foresee the future is having a visionary outlook. In the book “Medal of Honor, A Vietnam Warriors Story” by MSgt Roy Benavidez and John R. Craig. Master Sergeant Benavidez was a visionary leader in his career as an Army airborne ranger because he embodied idealized influence and to emergent leadership further his military career.
Veterans are people who have served in the military. They are an amazing part of society that deserve to be honored. The brave men and women who protected the U.S. are astounding.
For employees of the U.S Military including the air force, army, navy, marine and coastal guards, one can get tax advice and help from the free tax services provided by the Armed Forces Tax Council. These services are provided at different levels. If you are in the military or you are a veteran, you can find out more about these free services by enquiring from your local administrative office. Below is the structure of this free military tax service:
We aren’t going from having the least amount of fan attendance to a sold out stadium overnight. I suggest we continue down this path of giving away free tickets for a while to help fill more seats. Give them to different groups per game. Besides the veterans, some examples would be sponsors, nearby companies, little league teams, etc. Bringing these people in would give them a new experience that they could share with their friends. Think about it. If a kid comes home from baseball practice with free tickets, his parents won’t turn him down. That would bring a whole family into the stadium. Then at school the next day, that boy would be telling his friends what a great time he had. Word of mouth is the cheapest and best method of advertising.
I agree with his opinion, and that calling all military veterans heroes is a misuse of the word. I believe the military in general does deserve respect, they perform a very dangerous job on behalf of the country. It is however, just that; a job. Military veterans, joined willingly, and make a living for themselves. Do not mistake me, I think we should be doing so much more for veterans, providing health care, specifically within mental health, providing jobs and more. However, calling all veterans heroes is a mistake, and it does devalue the word. Hero, is a term, that once might have been exclusively for the people we see in the medal of honor recipients below, those that faced great trials, and disregarding their own safety, acted solely
Throughout different time periods and civilizations come many different types of art that would never be comparable to those of another time or place. There are also the pieces that come from a completely different time and place, but yet they can still be compared to one another. The Torso of a God (Egyptian, New Kingdom, Dynasty 18, last decade of the reign of Amenhotep III, Granodiorite, 1359-1349 B.C.) and the Statue of Asklepios (Greek, Hellenistic period, Pentelic Marble, 2nd century B.C.) are two sculptures made hundreds of years apart, yet they both display many similarities and show how art is constantly changing whilst keeping the same core ideas.
leader should be obvious. If a war or conflict were to break out, it would
According to FORSCOM G8, "Army leaders honor everyone’s individual worth by treating all people with dignity and respect. The leader who feels and gives the respect which is due to others cannot fail to inspire in them regard for himself. While he who feels, and hence manifests, disrespect toward others, especially his subordinates, cannot fail to inspire hatred against himself. Respect for the individual forms the basis for the rule of law, the very essence of what makes America. In the Army, respect means recognizing and appreciating the inherent dignity and worth of all people. This value reminds you that your people are your greatest resource."
Culture of a nation is manifested and influenced by a number of factors. National psyche and traits being the most pronounced ones. Military culture , to a certain extent , is in harmony with the national culture, however, it has its own impulses and dynamics. It incorporates obedience that curtails individual freedom or at times it may be at tangent with the socio-cultural values of a society ; Military culture of British – Indian Army ,as inherited by us is a case in point here. Philosophy of our present military outlets draws strength from history , organisational infrastructure , uniform , traditions social moorings and a host of other factors which , despite numerous changes , is still undergoing the process of evolution.
In the United States, soldiers are currently returning home from war broken and scarred. While some physical wounds are clearly visible others are often hidden/invisible to the naked eye, but men and women proudly wear these wounds as a badge of courage and honor for protecting our nation. These men and women come home rightfully expecting help, assistance and care and get hit with the reality of poor care from the Veteran Health Administration and Department of Defense.
In the US army we are taught to live by the 7 army values. They are broken down to us in the acronym ‘LDRSHIP’. Loyalty “Bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S. constitution, the Army, and other soldiers.” Duty “Fulfill your obligations.” Respect “Treat people as they should be treated.” Selfless Service “Put the welfare of the nation, the Army and your subordinates above your own.” Honor “Live up to the army values.”
Being a professional soldier goes a long way. It means a person take pride in everything they do throughout life. It takes a lot of energy and time to earn this title so upholding its standard is a must. A soldier abides by all his and her codes and creeds. Also, the soldier must follow the army set values. There are seven values and all have a significant importance to our nation; loyalty, duty, respect, selfless-service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. These seven values are all a soldier needs to be professional in the army. Following each of them and executing them will build your character and define you as a soldier and a person.
Respect, especially in the Army is a very important value to live by. It is much more than just talking kindly and listening to someone. It is the process of taking into consideration someone’s emotions, feelings and needs. You must also focus on their ideas, thoughts, and preferences. It is showing someone that you value their time; that you care what they have to say. Showing someone respect allows that person to know and acknowledge that you are tracking them and that you comprehend and believe in what they are saying, It is important to allow someone to feel your respect for them. It will ease the conversation and create trust. Behavior and attitude will allow the person demanding respect to feel that respect. When we
The month of November is one month out of the year that is known as Military Appreciate Month; a month where we show our appreciation and respect to the military families. We had five different families that we did mini projects for throughout the whole month of November. The sacrifices each and every person make while fighting for our freedom is extraordinary. In honor of all the things they do for us day in and day out, we decided to show our appreciation, respect, and gratitude to each of the soldiers and their families by doing multiple crafts for them.
