Military Schools Vs Military School

According to the Office of Special Education Programs (2000) school discipline is defined “as the steps or actions teachers, administrators, parents, and students follow to enhance student academic and social success.” How discipline is administered in a school has a significant impact on the overall school climate and academic success. In schools where exclusionary or punishing discipline methods are used, the school climate is viewed by students as punitive. In schools where educational and supportive behavior interventions are used, the school climate is viewed by students as constructive and supportive (Mitchell & Bradshaw 2013).

The issue is when you have more police, security and metal detectors than counselors and teachers. This alone brings about a psychological effect to a kid. Eventually one will erupt with hate. It’s not a matter of when. It’s the consequences of whom this systemic designed hate will be unleashed upon. This creates a culture of fear. And I cannot or will not be anything attitude. The disappointing matter of a fact is the best don’t make it out. The best usually get caught in the pipeline. The aspect of discipline is based on the students and the systemic system they prey on students for future wealth of modern day slavery that is called prison.

Another positive that comes with parental discipline, is how the kid learns that actions have consequences. Learning that actions have consequences is an essential part of growing up. It’s a basic fact that everyone should know, yet some people have yet to learn it. The reason for this is because they weren’t taught it by the parents because they didn’t discipline the child. Every lesson in life is supposed to be taught by the parent, but when there is no need to teach them about consequences because the parent doesn’t give them, the child ends up never learning about this basic lesson. As part of their natural development, children sometimes challenge or test parental and adult expectations and authority. Sometimes children choose to misbehave in order to gain attention. To the child, the attention, whether good or bad, is worth whatever consequence they receive. This is significant in the growth process of children, yet it should not be without consequence. Discipline and consequences are how children learn right from wrong. Providing appropriate discipline to children is one of the most essential responsibilities as a parent, and providing consistent and positive discipline helps children grow into responsible adults.

a. Military discipline is founded upon self-discipline, respect for properly constituted authority, and the embracing of the professional Army ethic with its supporting individual values. Military discipline will be developed by individual and group training to create a mental attitude resulting in proper conduct and prompt obedience to lawful military authority.

First of all, in paragraph 3 it states,” According to Superintendent Michael Milkie, the policy teaches students to follow rules and creates a structured learning environment…while fights can be an almost daily occurrence in some urban high schools, Milkie says, there’s only about one a year on each Noble campus.” This means that schools have discipline policies to reduce violence on campus by showing students how to follow rules. This shows that rules are necessary to create a structured learning environment where it is very clear what is expected and what is not expected. Students who know what is expected and know the consequences follow the discipline policy. This proves the one of the main reasons schools have discipline policies is to reduce violence on campus.

By being taught discipline it can help students understand to respect authority more and respect those who are in power such as teachers, coaches, parents, etc (‘Thirteen Ed’)

This article details the good, the bad, and the ugly of strict-maybe too strict-discipline. Carr focuses specifically on Carver Collegiate Academy and she highlights certain aspects of the study such as race and income. Carver does not play around when it comes to discipline. In fact, students are written up for little things like not sitting up straight or laying their heads down (Carr 83). The school system expresses their reasoning behind these strict rules being that too many students are not given proper direction in school and thus, make mistakes in adulthood. Many teens that don’t get disciplined will just get rebellious about everything and would not care about. Anything, just what they believe. They can get crazy about some life experiences and not know how to handle life. The rebellious teens would fight about the problem and might not calm down about the problem and just keep on going with it. The teen with disciplined would handle it with clam and might get help from parents and friends.

Everyone knows the purpose of child discipline. Parents need to set boundaries for their children and punish them when they cross the line. Children who do not have these boundaries set for them grow up with no respect for authority, and likely little to no respect for God. That’s why discipline is important.

Finally, life lessons can be learned through discipline. These life lessons can possibly determine the child’s future. For example, disciplining a child to complete school work before engaging in leisure activities will teach the child the importance of education. Another example is disciplining a child for being very careless, to prevent serious future injuries. Therefore, an advantage of disciplining children is that children may learn very important life lessons through discipline.

Education is something that everyone considers a priority. A school is an institution where students acquire knowledge and skills that will be of use in their future, so choosing the best school for them is vital. One difficult situation that parents have to go through is deciding where to send their children to school: private or public. Everyone wants to get the quality education that he or she deserves because having a good quality of education leads to a productive learning process. It also enables students to create better output in their studies.
