Congratulations to Clevette!! She has accepted the director position as the CBC/Peds department. With stating that she is stepping out of the position of Chair the NQC. Marsha Helton as current Co-chair has accepted the position of the Chair position. Clevette received a couple of nominations for the open positions. Nominations were for Kris Dodson for Co-chair and Tracey Feltner as secretary. Kris graciously accepted the Co-Chair position fulfilling the NQC charter and guidelines of having a direct care nurse as either Chair or Co-chair position. Secretary position was not voted on at this time.

There were regular supervised contacts between Joanne and Kain whilst he was in the Milliken’s care. These contacts initially lasted for an hour and a half and would occur weekly. Overall, these contacts were reported to be positive with Joanne greeting Kain with warm hello’s followed by hugs and kisses. Lyons is known for a town of 3,500 residents. Lyons is like stepping back in time 50 years, it is very old-fashioned. Women stayed at home while cleaning and cooking all day long. That was one thing famous for Lyon the smell of bread could be found miles away. Children spent their time playing outside with each other, not in front of a television or gaming devices. When not playing outside they would attend school. Since Lyons was so small the school building was about 75 years old and it housed all the students under one roof, from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Thank you for responding to my post. I understand your feelings on not hugging clients. I too may not’s hug any of my clients, as well. However, I have realized that a hug is sometimes all a person needs. So I guess it depends on the situation and the client. I would do anything to help my client without violating any ethical standards even if I had to stand on my head. I am quite the opposite, self-disclosure will be hard for me to avoid because I know firsthand how a problem can be solved.

Leslie expressed Lemuel just have to clean up behind himself and that’s is about it. Lemuel stated there are no expectations in place with him within the home. He explained he does have a curfew but nothing else. MSTT asked if Lemuel did not have expectations placed on him because of his age. I would not want to take a genetic test to identify which diseases I am likely to suffer from in life. There are several reasons why I do not want to be tested. I lost my mother six years ago from congestion heart failure due to her diabetes. She also had kidney disease, which put her on dialysis. I am a diabetic, so I do not want to know if there is a likelihood, I will have kidney disease or any other disease in the future. I want to live my life without knowing that one day I can end up with a disease. It will make me have psychological problems and make me end up sick. I do not believe a test can determine my future in life only God.
