Milton Moctezuma arrived here on May 9, 2001, at 8:30 AM in the Cedar Rapids Mercy Hospital. He has one brother, Jorge Jr. (21). His mother and father are Gaby (40) and Jorge (49) Moctezuma. He attends school at AHS currently as a sophomore. Some of his favorite classes are (in descending order): Lunch, Gym, Advisory, English, US. History, and his least favorite class is Algebra 2. He is presently involved in the sports Cross Country, Soccer, and Basketball, his favorite being soccer.

This is a story about Milton Hershey in his young years. Milton Hershey was born on September 13, 1857, in Derry Township Pennsylvania. When Hershey was 10 years old his family separated. Then at the age 14, Hershey dropped out of school. Four years later he borrowed $150 from his aunt and set his own candy shop in the heart of Philadelphia. So in 1883, he returned to Lancaster. Then in 1893 at the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, he got a close-up look at the art of chocolate making. In 1898 Hershey married Catherine. Then he ended up starting the Hershey chocolate company.

In 1867, Henry wanted to be out and left his wife and son to be alone. When Milton was about 14 years old he dropped out of school. Milton was in the 5th grade when he dropped out because his family had moved around so often. After Milton had made this decision in his education, He began to grow curiosity into candy producing. After acknowledging this interest he began working with an confectioner in Lancaster Pennsylvania.

His little sister Serina Hershey had died when she was just 4. Milton and her were not barely close at the time because he was away, but it very much impacted their parents. Milton Hershey was born on September 13, 1857, in an old stone farmhouse built by his great grandfather near the little town of Derry church, Pennsylvania. On his way to becoming a successful chocolatier. Milton endured many challenges and struggles. He experienced a lot of childhood changes. Milton Hershey made mistakes and had failures along the way, to keep going and learned to make candy and to build his own company.

His father, Henry, was a dreamer who was constantly starting new jobs and working on his next "get rich quick" scheme. Because Milton's family moved so much, he didn't get a very good education. By the time he turned thirteen he had attended six different schools. Even though he was smart, it was tough on Milton to always be changing schools.

This caused them to be one of the poorest families in their community, some could even recall Milton has a young boy walking the streets trying to sell things for pennies. When he was a child, his aunts and uncles would tell him tales. As a result, stories became a big part of his life. He began to read different kind of genre like history, science, and literature. He learned to enjoy life and everything that life offered. He embraced challenges and pursued a broad education. Because of his high intelligence, he tutored his football teammates. When he was in Stanford, he decided to quit football because it interfered with his academics.

Milton had one younger sister named Serina Hershey, had died of Scarlet Fever when she was nine. Veronica had been a housekeeper for many people in her town and Henry was a business man. Milton’s childhood was spent trailing his father, when Henry did anything Milton was by his side learning and experiencing new materials. When Milton was thirteen Henry decided to leave his family and follow his dream. Veronica became a single mother, living in the street of Pennsylvania with her son Milton. Although Henry made this decision, Milton never lost contact with his dad and still respected him as a person.
