Part 1 For my analysis of mission and vision statements and company’s strategic direction paper, I decided to use Netflix. Netflix mission statement is "Our core strategy is to grow our streaming subscription business domestically and globally. We are continuously improving the customer experience, with a focus on expanding our streaming content, enhancing our user interface and extending our streaming service to even more Internet-connected devices, while staying within the parameters of our consolidated net income and operating segment contribution profit targets" (Netflix, 10-K Item 1). Netflix faces challenges from competitors like Hulu, Verizon, Redbox, Amazon, and Apple TV. Netflix’s reputation as having a more extensive and comprehensive library than any other company is depleting. Netflix also offers DVD mailing services. Obtaining physical copies of DVD’s and watching them that way is a distribution system that is becoming obsolete. This is another challenge that Netflix faces.

After evaluating Netflix’s mission and vision statement, I believe that they are aligned with the company’s objectives. Netflix describes the desire to grow and expand their organization. Netflix is currently being offered in 50 different nations. By 2016, Netflix intends to have their services available everywhere in the world. Netflix’s objective is to expand internationally as fast as possible while staying profitable. This objective is aligned with the mission and vision statement.

Netflix Mission Statement:

"Our core strategy is to grow our streaming subscription business domestically and globally.
