My phone helps with reminding me to stay on schedule while I have a weekly calendar on my desk that reminds me of everything I have to do during said week. For my classwork, I look at what I have to accomplish in advance so I can adjust my schedule to the amount of work that week. I take the most urgent stuff and make that my priority before estimating how long each assignment will take. Most days, I give myself extra time so I do not feel rushed in completing an assignment. Before beginning my assignments, I read (or in some cases reread) the necessary material. Occasionally, I will research certain topics in order to a more comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the material. Instead of procrastinating, I space my projects into smaller
Michaela answered after 2 rings with the standard greeting and identified herself. I jumped in and said that I have a CD coming due with a large bank but am disappointed with the interest it is earning. She asked me what term the CD was and I told her 6 months. She then gave me the rates and I told her that was also low. She then told me about the 9 and 12 month CD, which has higher interest rates. I told her that the 12 month was a little better. I told her it would be hard for my wife and I to get to the back, to which she told me that they are open until 6:00 on Thursdays and on Saturday. I told her my wife and I were busy this Saturday but might come in the following Saturday. She then told me that we would first have to open a main
I inferred from the data that my topic is one that nobody in the audience knew anything
We are all very busy with work and school so sometimes we forget what needs to be done in time, so the daily planner is a very useful tool that helps you remember important events. Every day I update something new on my planner that would keep me updated for the upcoming week or month. For example, when it comes to my studies I have a special section for it and I always put a writing “study an hour in am and pm for English” to look over the materials on the given chapter. It is a great way not to fall behind on your studies and you are much better prepared when it comes on taking the chapter exam. When it comes to work I put the days and hours that I work a head of time so I can be able to figure out the time I have left to spend with my family and time for studying. As I mention before, family time is very important to me so I mostly put on my planer simple family stuff such us having dinner in a certain time, days of going out, or doing different chores, enrolling my son into daily or weekly activities, shopping, or family trips.
I shared my research journal with my writing group. The provided me with some wonderful feedback. The feedback was specific in nature and helped me move forward in my work. We spent most of our time working together looking at my coding system. I went through each of my interviews and the coding system I utilized. Some of the feedback I received at first was that I had “too many codes”. Together we went through each interview and tried to decide if we could use less codes. The group found we really couldn’t use less codes because patterns were starting to emerge and we needed the keep the codes I had already worked on. The codes brought important information to light and we could see how the patterns highlighted in the process. For
Pattern recognition helps to develop the skills necessary to develop a differential diagnosis. When seeing patients in the clinical setting, practitioners begin to recognize associated symptoms, health history details, and assessment findings that are related to specific system alterations. By acknowledging these repetitive patterned-like affiliations from clinical scenarios, we as learners can begin to transform our foundational knowledge to critical thinking, diagnostic reasoning, and differential development. According to work by Flott and Linden (2015), a positive learning environment can be supported by understanding "attributes" that support learning (p. 501). Hence, pattern recognition is an example of an attribute that will contribute to learning in the clinical setting for nurse practitioner students. Consequently, being able to mentally sort a group of symptoms, findings, and diagnostics that are related to a particular problem can help build an intellectual database of reference. As a result, these steps help students develop a diagnosis, differential, and plan of care. A reflection of pattern recognition, problem-based learning, and clinical experiences will be examined further to help substantiate the contributions to the learning experience.
When I was taking the Marketing course in the High School Program at Columbia University this summer, my professor often broke us into small group to accomplish some activities. The experience I had in the final project was really impressive. Back then, I was in a group with two American boys and a Canadian girl. The professor required us to develop a novel product or service and create a marketing campaign on our own. Recalling my experience of being unable to find my glasses in a morning, I had the idea of developing a tracking device. However, at the very beginning, the other members of the group didn’t feel the same way, because they didn’t wear glasses at all. Then I supposed we extend the function of the product to make it capable of
This week has been a good one so far. I can say I feel really good about my progress and work completed. I am half way done with my curriculum map and I am starting to list resources and strategies that I am using which will add an extra component to my curriculum map. I think I started to piece together my PowerPoint presentation as well.
You also could use a planner to help you remember when things are due and what you have going on that you need to plan around. Say you play a sport and you have to attend a game on Thursday and you have an essay due on Friday. You could plan ahead and get the essay done on Wednesday so all you have to do Thursday is look over it and then Friday you can turn it in. And if it’s already Thursday, you can work on it before the game, on the way to the game, on the way home from the game, and when you get home. You can turn in your work on Friday and not feel stressed and you can have a good time at the Friday night game.
My gender (Abel 2017) is a female. I can describe my race (Abel 2017) by my physical characteristics such as I am white, I have long black hair, I have brown eyes. I can represent my ethnicity (Abel 2017) with my nationality that I am Egyptian, Christian, and I know how to speak 3 languages (Arabic, French, and English). These things have affected my life positively. For example, when I came to the United States, there were many friends who were interested to know about me and my country. Also, it affects negatively because at a time that I was trying to find a job that I like and it was on a factory, they someone came and told me that they didn’t accept me because they needed a boy to work in this position of a job, because you might carry stuff and boys are stronger than girls. Moreover, the Muslim brotherhood force Christian women to wear the hijab. That’s what the Muslim women wear around their
In college, I was involved with an immigration-related club, named Brandeis Immigration Education Initiative (BIEI) for two years (between September 2015 to September 2017). I leaded discussion sections on US immigration policy, I have discussed and mulled with others over the multi-faceted experience of being an immigrant. I helped creating different campaigns and events to change the perception of the student body as well as to challenge the stereotypes that exists about US immigrants. Some of the highlights, was an ethnographic campaign displaying the different stories about immigrants in our student body. Another important event was hosted immigration awareness week, wherein we hosted events for a whole week, such as movie screenings, talks
The next time I have a big assignment I want to finish it 3-4 days before it is due. I will write it down on a board in my room so I am reminded to do it. This will help me be less stressed out when it is almost due.
Primarily, before I was able to use my time management skill to benefit my academic success as a student at Miami this term, I had to follow certain procedures. The first thing I did in the beginning of this semester was that I created a, To Do, list to help me identify a few items and the reasons for doing them. I create these lists every Sunday to guide me through my weeks of school. The first thing in the list is to make sure I go to sleep on time, so I can wake up on time and arrive on time in class every day. Another method I follow is the daily and weekly planner which helps me writing down my appointments, classes’ times, and meetings’ times on a
ADHD and Dyslexia have made me great at time management. I try to get assignments handed in on time, and complete tests with the limit allotted. Not to mention, I would use a timer when doing assignments, this would help me in setting a goal for myself to get my assignments done as efficiently as possible.

Staying organized is essential for success. I suggest you use a calendar to keep track of when assignments are due. Use a planner to keep track of your activities and stay organized. Don’t wait until the last minute to complete assignments since that would only add more pressure to your life. It may also affect the quality of your work. Do you think I’m talking from experience?
