The MLA and APA are two styles that have many similarities but the two styles also have many differences in format and in the way the sources are citied. Both styles very are similar in many ways, but are used for different subjects for example APA is predominately used in the social sciences studies ,while MLA is predominately used for liberal arts and humanities Both MLA and APA keep to twofold divided pages, have a 12-point textual style, and 1-inch margins on all sides. An APA format paper comprises of four sections: cover sheet, unique, principle body and references. The left over pages have a right side header that includes the last name of the author’s name and page number. MLA and APA papers have slightly different methods for using in-text citations for example author-page format is in the mla format style and APA follows the author-date format. An APA-formatted paper consist of the author's last name and year of publication in parenthesis after the cited text. An MLA-formatted paper consist of the author's last name and page number in parenthesis after the text. APA-formatted papers include a separate page at the end of the paper entitled "References," and MLA-formatted papers include a page entitled "Works Cited."
