For many, the quaint town of Point Clear, Alabama represents the Old South rooted in tradition, charm, and grace. Halfway down the bay and nearly hidden among oaks adorned with Spanish moss, Point Clear was founded in the early 1800s. Today, the city continues to honor its role in the Civil War, perpetuates the memories of its residents, and evolves as a greater and better place.
What was the Battle of Fort Sumter? Fort Sumter was an island battle in the civil war (1861-1865). The fort was built in 1829. It’s located in Charleston Harbor, South Carolina. Fort Sumter was unfinished until U.S. Major Robert Anderson moved his men into the fort in 1860.
On the 24th of December, 1864, Union ships have started engaging the Confederate forces of Fort Fisher, North Carolina, just south of Wilmington. Thus far the Confederate fort’s large guns have kept the Union ships at a distance and nullified the attack.
On March 9, 1862, the battle between the Union’s USS Monitor and the Confederate’s USS Merrimack was history’s first duel between ironclad warships. The cannons bounced effortlessly off the iron armor of the boats. This battle was known as the Battle of Hampton Roads and was part of the Confederate effort to break the Union blockade of Southern ports. This battle ended in a draw where neither side could declare victory, but it started the era of naval warfare. The use of ironclads marked the end of thousands of years of wooden warships.

The autobiography Coming of Age in Mississippi by Anne Moody is the story of her life as a poor black girl growing into adulthood. Moody chose to start at the beginning - when she was four-years-old, the child of poor sharecroppers working for a white farmer. She overcomes obstacles such as discrimination and hunger as she struggles to survive childhood in one of the most racially discriminated states in America. In telling the story of her life, Moody shows why the civil rights movement was such a necessity and the depth of the injustices it had to correct. Moody's autobiography depicts the battle all southern African Americans faced. She had a personal mission throughout the entire
Most of the civil war took place in the states of Virginia and Tennessee but two major battles of and several smaller altercations took place in the state of Florida. On February 20, 1864 the largest civil war battle in Florida took place near Lake City. This battle occurred a year after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed and it was
After all of these preparation, the Union Navy reached the port of New Orleans and on April 18th, 1862, the battle had finally begun. At the start of the battle, the Union kept bombing the two forts relentlessly. At around 10 A.M, the first mortar shells reached the forts as well. The Confederates inside the forts, faced losses in equipment, structural damages of the fort, and many of their 1400 Confederate soldiers. Even after all of this bombing, the forts, somehow, were able to withstand it and stand.
In the year 1863, the Civil War was 2 years in. At the beginning of the year the war seemed to be in the hands of the Confederacy, but throughout the year the tables turned and it was apparent that the Union was gonna win the war. In January, “Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation [went] into effect” and there were 6-8 significant battles that transpired between then and May of 1863. At the end of May was the first assault on Port Hudson in Louisiana. This assault was a turning point for the Union and their goal of winning the war. Commodore Palmer expresses this by stating, “It is to be hoped that Port Hudson will fall some day.” But just a days walk away was Simmesport where an enemy(Confederate) crossing started a skirmish.
In the year of 1861, the United States of America was officially divided. The southern Confederate states, having seceded from the Union, attacked Fort Sumter. This was the beginning of a great and terrible Civil War, in which many lives would be taken in many hard-fought battles. One such battle would to take place in the bay of Hampton Roads, where we find the USS Congress and her men at rest near the Virginia Coast.

Jackson, Mississippi is a diverse place. A dwelling of lost potential and jagged roads. The sweet smell of borderline segregation and fearful crime rates have become a smudge charcoal drawing that depicts Jackson. While some of these allegations are honest, the city is more complex than one central setting. As well as the residents within and near its city limits. Jacksonians convey a feeling of strong patriotism towards their sector, either complimenting the specific stereotypes or continuously trying to disprove it. The city can be organized by three locales: North Jackson, South Jackson, and small towns surrounding

The Battle of New Orleans was significant because it was the biggest part of the American Revolution for the United States. Andrew Jackson and his untrained army outsmarted the British, causing them to retreat and in result stopping the British from capturing New Orleans. The Battle of New Orleans was also important because it was the last major battle of the War of 1812. Andrew Jackson, America’s General who led the war, would be known as an American hero after this war. General Jackson heard about the British advancing towards New Orleans and he felt like he needed to save New Orleans. On January 8, 1815, American forces, under Major General Jackson, defeated the British forces trying to capture New Orleans. The battle, which takes place after the treaty of Ghent has been signed, was the most successful American victory of the war.
In the process of going from a non-project driven firm to a project-driven one, the greatest resistance might come from the executives including the board members, company owners and the vice president. The strong and rigid culture has been instilled in the company since 50 years and as a result, the president's preaching fell on deaf ears. Authoritative support is necessary to execute such strategies and it seems that for Macon Inc., that will be the most difficult one.
