What is WeChat?
WeChat is a mobile text and voice messaging communication service developed by Tencent in China. It allows users to easily connect with family and friends because it provides text messaging, hold-to-talk voice messaging, broadcast messaging, video conferencing, sharing of photographs and videos, and location sharing. This app is free and is available on many phones and they require user to have the app installed on a phone in order to use it.

How to use?
Warnings: According to the WeChat Terms of Service, you need to be at least 13 years old or have your parents’ permission to use WeChat.

Materials and/or equipment needed:
• A phone, can be iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Nokia S40, Symbian, and Blackberry
• Your mobile phone number
• Wi-Fi network

Setting up an Account:
This will give you a simple start of downloading WeChat and set up an account.

STEP 1: Download and Install WeChat to your smart phone.
EXPLANATION: WeChat is available on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Nokia S40, Symbian, and Blackberry phones. Go to the App Store or Google Play to download WeChat.

STEP 2: Registering an account.
EXPLANATION: Open WeChat. Touch the Sign Up button. On the Sign Up screen, choose the region you live in. Then, in the Mobile number field, type your mobile phone number. Touch Sign Up. When it asks you to confirm your number, check your number, and then touch Confirm.
