The old testament prophet Amos lived in Israel in 800 B.C. The problem in Israel at the time was that the rich people didn’t share with the poor people and didn’t care for the needs of others. Amos taught about how all people, whether king, peasant, or slave, should be treated the same. He taught that every human being has dignity and that they should all be treated with that same kind of respect and dignity they deserve. Amos prophesied that if people didn’t change this soon there would be grave consequences. He caused so much trouble that he was banned from the temple. Amos wasn’t seen as a prophet until what he said came true.
My modern day prophet is Malala Yousafzai, who is an advocate on girls’ education. She was born on July 12, 1997

Malala Visits the girls who are imprisoned in their homes, not allowed to go to school or learn anything. She Instructs the ignorant Taliban to let girls learn and have their basic rights of freedom. And she feeds the girls who are hungry for knowledge. Malala is a true modern day prophet and lives a life that reflects the works of mercy. As Malala says when talking about standing up for herself, “I said to myself, Malala you must be brave. You must not be afraid of anyone. You are only trying to get an education. You are not committing a crime.”.
Amos and Malala both stand for the message that everyone deserves their rights, whether rich, poor, girl, or boy. I can be a prophet of the future by speaking out about people deserving equal rights and getting an education. I can also donate to the Malala Fund to support and help the girls who don’t have their rights. I can also prophecise Amos and Malala’s messages to everyone. I can help out at a food bank for those who don’t have enough food and provide for them. In all I can and will be the “light in a dark world” for those people who don’t have the education they
Malala Youafzai is now a inspiring activist for women's education. Malala has a strong passion for education and loved school as a child. She lived in terriable circumstances in which a radical terrorist group, the Taliban, was terrorizing her city. Enforcing cruel strict Islamic law Malala bravly spoke out against the Taliban. Through many courages and tragic events Malala was globaly noticed, bringing attention to the issues of childrens and womens education and influencing millions of people.
A prophet speaks exquisitely encouraged words to others. Prophets are willing to give up their life for what they believe in. They bring new ideas to situations, and don’t follow other’s work. They are gifted with the ways of God, and have spiritual insight on certain problems. To be a prophet takes hard work. If you do something so immense, and it helps people around you, doesn’t mean you automatically fall under prophecy. You have to have the full criteria. That is why it’s hard to find a modern day prophet today. Many people in the world today have done something big, but are not viewed as prophetic, because of their power, or personality.
Malala Yousafzai was a talented and brave young woman who had one goal in life: to get an education and encourage others to do the same. Born in Pakistan, Malala did not grow up with many resources, but she was lucky enough to have a father that shared the same goal as her. At the young age of fifteen, she was shot in the face by the Taliban for standing up for girls’ rights to an education. Although the recovery time was long and hard, the Taliban did not silence her as she continued her campaign. This eventually led her to opening her own school in Yemen and writing the novel I Am Malala. As someone who highly values education and bravery, her story made me interested in learning more about her culture, family, and experiences.
After reading the book ‘’I Am Malala’’ I noticed that she was one of the bravest strong young girls in the world. Malala Yousafzai is a young girl born on July 12, 1997, in the city, Mingora in Pakistan. She fought for something that is she is passionate about. Heroes are people who stand up for something, they are courageous, they are noble and they are loyal to something they stand for. Malala is known as the fifteen-year-old girl who got shot because she fought for women’s rights and education. This young girl named Malala is brave, persistent, and influential.
Malala was only 10 and as she already understood the major issue of her home country, Pakistan, as regards to their position on women’s rights. She realized in Pakistan women did not have as many rights as men such as the right of education. From that moment, she knew that she would fight for peace and democracy for the Pakistan women in her future.
Malala is a great activist for our world. For example, she has a big part of the inspiration for education. In her homeland, Taliban told girls they weren’t allowed to go to school or dance, play outside, sing etc. She believed girls had much of a right to go to school as boys do. Malala started to go to the boys school as one of her own rights. At this point, the Malala become a target to the Taliban. She was fourteen and the Taliban struck her on the bus with a shot in the head. She was hit in the head but missed a little bit by her skull. She came back strong at sixteen years and showed she will never give up for girls rights. “ I speak with my voice” she would say in an interview. Just because we have feet and hands, knees do not
Across the world people think of Malala Yousafzai as one of the most revolutionary women in the world for her stance against heresy and gender discrimination. She has showed through example that she is willing to give her life in the defense of her beliefs regarding women’s rights to education. Malala is an equal rights activist; she continually fights for women to have the same rights as all other people. Malala has endured a long and dangerous path to make people aware of the discrimination and dangers that women are facing in Pakistan and all over the world. Her famous journey and non-violent methods has had a profound effect and has resulted in the world taking a more active part in her fight for equal rights and women 's education.
For example, an activist named Iqbal believed in education for kids. He gave speeches all over the world to show his beliefs on education rights. Many people got inspired to help his belief that everyone should have education rights. Another activist who gave speeches is Malala Yousafzai, to tell people that everybody(especially girls), should have education no matter his or her circumstances of life, genes, or religion. Her speeches inspired many people to help kids get education. “One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world.”, she
Born on July 12, 1997, Malala Yousafzai took a stand for the rights of girls in her village first, by giving a speech during a school event, and then eventually, talking about and representing the rights of all females across the world. She courageously stood up against the Taliban and their strict rules of the boundaries of women in the village, and even after an assassination attempt, she continued giving speeches and speaking her mind despite the immense danger she was placing herself in. “The blog was anonymous, but Malala was also unafraid to speak out in public about the right to
Sharing her father’s passion for learning, Malala Yousafzai is a young, children’s and women’s rights activist in the Middle East. As a young girl, Malala Yousafzai defied the Taliban in Pakistan and demanded that girls be allowed to receive an education. After being targeted, Malala was shot in the head, however, she survived. Even with a target on her head, Malala stood up for her rights and continued to defy the Taliban.
When I first saw “He Named Me Malala”, I recieved a deeper insight into who Malala was, and how she lived. I had presumptions of her being serious and prudish, but after viewing the movie, I saw she was just an average girl. She showed me that you can be anyone, anywhere, and make a difference in the world. Malala has also opened my eyes to the importance of education. After watching the movie, I felt motivated to go make a difference in the world, and to better pursue my education and put more effort into it. Malala has become one of my best role models in my life for activism and education since watching “He Named Me Malala.” I highly recommend others to watch the movie so they can see Malala’s amazing story, so they too can realize the importance of education and that you can make a difference, wherever and whoever you
Prophets played such an important role in the time of the Old testament. It is because of these prophets, that we have so much of our prophetic literature through the Old Testament today. They played an integral role throughout the life and history of Israel. We can see through numerous situations throughout the Old Testament that the prophets were a catalyst for change occurring in the land/people of Israel. According to David L. Peterson in his book, "The Prophetic Literature", a reason as to why there were prophets that arose in the time and land of Israel, is because its said that the prophets were fundamentally important in understanding the history and value of Israel, and that the activeness of the prophets showed God 's concern for His people . We see that the word 'prophet ', in the Greek language actually means "to foresee" . This in time brought about issues in regards to whether or not the prophets weren 't just prophets, but could be providing some sort of witchcraft. But in actual fact, the prophets within the Old testament tended to not only speak about the future, but noted circumstances that occurred in the past and that reeled on into their present time. As we move forward in time from the times of the prophets, we can see the necessity of having the prophets in the land, life and people of Israel. Prophets at times came under four different titles or labels in the Old Testament. "Seer", "diviner", "man of God", and "prophet" . Throughout different
Malala Yousafzai’s is a women’s activist for youth education, but primarily for girls. On July 12th, 2013, she delivered an address at the Youth Takeover of the United Nation. This speech is powerful, eye opening and deserves to be heard. She is addressing two audiences, one being the people that follow her same belief for education, some of those people would be at this convention and the other being the people that disagree with her purpose, like the Taliban. Yousafzai was in 1997, in Mingora, Pakistan, which used to be a popular tourist destination. As of now the region has been taken into control of the Taliban. Her father is also an anti- Taliban activist and educator. She, her father and tons of others just want thing to be like they used to. Where they had a safe neighborhood and didn't have to worry about violence. She delivered a speech riddled with excellent use of rhetoric to convey her argument. Malala’s whole purpose for her fight for education of the youth is so that it will stop future violence, She displays this purpose in her speech by using outward focus, compassion and personal experience to her audiences.
Ezekiel was a prophet and a priest Fifty years old (age when ministry of priests and Levites ended) Was called to be a prophet when he was thirty His calling shows he was a priestly prophet After call to be a prophet, he spoke to God freely Full access to God was a priest’s privilege Wasn’t able to speak for 7 years (593-587 BC) Actual prophetic work begins 7 days after he is called to be a prophet Gave much attention to spiritual purity The verb “sanctify” was also important to Ezekiel (occurs fifteen times)
The book of Amos strikes me as a very angry book in that it tells of a very angry God who is about to bring a severe form of justice on His people. Firstly, I immediately notice that the author lays a foundation of the typical Israel-is-bad-and-Judah-is-better kind of mindset when he says that the voice of the Lord “utters [from] Jerusalem.” To me, this can lead one to deduce that the author believes that God is on Judah’s side and not at all favoring Israel. This does not seem strange, given that many books before this one convey the same idea, except for a particular grievance against Judah. This transgression is described as being “led astray by the same lies” as Israel, one would assume. I cannot help but notice, however, that the list of iniquities of
