I was walking when suddenly I heard a voice behind me shout, “Hi! Wait a minute!” Before I continue… I should probably tell you about where I am. I believe I’m on an island. I’m not sure though? Oh I’m Ralph though. I am from Britain. I wrote this with my blood and some leaves well stranded on this island. Anyways I got side tracked where did I leave off. Ohh yeah this boy was following me. He was shorter than an average boy, very fat, glasses, and asthma. He kept following me which was ANNOYING. The boy has this crazy idea that we are trapped here. Frankly I don’t believe him. I kept walking toward nowhere well the boy trugs along behind me slowly. I still have yet to know the annoying boy’s name. I notice in front of me water. I started to run foreword excited to get in the water. …show more content…
I broke out laughing. As I was sitting gin the water I looked down and say a pretty white shell. The boy “Piggy” shouted, “It’s a conch!” I respond, “A conch what is that…?” The boy “Piggy” goes on this long boring story about it I mainly tuned him out. Then he yells, “We need to call an assembly. Get everyone on the island together in one place. You need to blow into he conch to get everyone her. I would do it but I have asthma.” I looked at him and said, “I just blow into it…?” He nods. I start to blow, blow, blow, and blow. Boys, boys, and more boys start to come and come. I blow one last time and notice a group of boys walking in all black. The guy leading seems to be the leader. I can tell this by the way he is carrying himself, and the way the other guys look to compared to him. Once he comes he is very cocky and I find his name to be Jack. He and his boys are a group of choir
Humans have a monster inside of them that is subdued by society, and if society is taken away, then that “monster” will consume them. This is true for most people, but not all humans are like that. One of the most notable humans to over come the “monster” is Simon, a character from the book “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding. The story is set on an island in the Pacific Ocean. A plane full of British schoolboys crash lands on an island and they’re stranded there with no adults, no society, and no rules. Simon is one of the few characters that stay sensible and good throughout the story. He has a sixth sense about things happening around him, he is kindhearted, and he faints a lot which give the appearance of him being weak.
I kept writing. It was hard, but I could get everything off of my chest. I could explain to people what had happened to me. I could tell my English teacher. It was a little hard, but I didn’t cry. I couldn’t cry. Greasers didn’t cry.
Lord of the Flies is a novel written in 1954 by William Golding. A plane carrying a group of British citizens trying to escape the nuclear war gets shot down and lands on a deserted tropical island. The only survivors are children ranging from the age of six to twelve-year-olds. The younger children are nick named “littluns” and the older children are nick named “biguns”. At first, they celebrate their freedom from the war but then they begin to realize there aren't any adults to supervise them, they don't have food, they don't have shelter, and they are stranded on a deserted tropical island. One of the characters Piggy is classified as smart but is fat chubby and has asthma so he isn't capable of much things. “ “My auntie told me not to
The power-hungry will often feel the need for absolute control, hardly ever getting what they desire, they will often be portrayed as crazy and vicious. The same can be said for Jack; all he wants is to be the leader and make the decisions, but Ralph is the one in control. Jack’s desire for power is ruining his own image, and the well being of the other boys. Without the supervision of adults his morals and values took a turn for the worst.
Throughout chapter 6, Ralph becomes a more forceful leader as a result of his people become less civilized. Ralph seems desperate for his people to listen to him and as if he can’t get everyone together. For example, when everyone is saying they want to stay near the rock fort, Golding writes, “I say we’ll go on!’ shouted Ralph furiously,” (108). By Ralph “shouting furiously”, we see the weight of authority taking a toll on Ralph through the desperation in his tone. In this chapter, it becomes clear Ralph is getting tired of his responsibility as chief. When walking in a line, he let’s Jack lead the way. Golding says, “Ralph walked in the rear, thankful to have escaped responsibility for a time,” (103). Allegorically, if Ralph symbolizes civility and Jack symbolizes savagery, Ralph surrendering temporary leadership
The boys’ beginning on the island starts with a very positive and playful atmosphere. To begin, Ralph and Piggy find a conch shell that they think will help call
The rain had just stopped pouring, and we had all gathered in a park nearby, as a makeshift memorial for Johnny. It wasn’t really a funeral, we didn’t have the budget for that, and it wasn’t like his parents cared enough to give him a proper goodbye.
In the story “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding, he shows how the boys lost all innocence and civilization. The boys went from having innocent child minds to taking lives of other people, acting savage, and losing all civilization due to problems on the island. The boys had forgotten where they came from and became savage in order to survive; it was the need of survival that caused the loss of innocence among the boys.
wanted to be leader and thought he was the best for the job. Already he had
People today believe that to be powerful you have to be known and rich. While that may be partly true, an individual is powerful if they possess the ability to show responsibility, courage, determination, and initiative.
Finally, I am finished with middle school. Anxiously thinking about the first day of high school, I knew that it would be hectic and wild, but I was ecstatic. Of course, the night before I could not sleep. I lay awake dreaming about how my first day at John Paul II will go. How will it be meeting new people and seeing old friends from last year? Will high school be hard? Will I get lost? I kept thinking about the unknown and worst possible outcomes. My first day of high school was unexpected.
Being stranded on an island would be scary and hard but one thing that would be most important to do would be to make a signal of some type to let potential rescuers know that you are there. Having a signal would alarm passerby’s that you are there and could lead to your rescue. Like in, “Lord of the Flies” a fire would be a good thing. Keeping the fire going would be an issue though especially if there is rain or troublesome weather. I would convince others to help and do other needs by encouraging them. I would also teach them that if we don’t do something we would all perish on this island sooner than later.
Could civilization live a normal and stable life, without any rules and orders to obey? Could you picture, New York City, with no laws to follow and everyone doing as they please? Just imagine the disasters that we will experience. In the novel, Lord of the Flies, written by William Golding, we see how each individual character reacts differently to the exposure of complete freedom from an organized society. Also, awe see how this separation from a structural society causes chaos among all these different characters.

The marshy plains encased a layer of drenched dirt, shadowed with melancholy. Continuing down the long and twisted path, a regretful sense of doubt arises to my mind. Dense fog blocked the horrors beyond or at least that's what I had imagined in this abundance of riddles; along both sides of the path lay, still, a vast amount of water. However this wasn't anything someone had witnessed before. It wasn’t flowing like a regular liquid, no equilibrium or sense of balance.
