Our country is in dire need of loyal conservative leaders. As a Republican nominee for the senate, I vow to further strengthen and represent our beautiful state of Montana. I will be in support for many amendments and rights that make this country and state extraordinary. Such as: The Second Amendment. In past months the rights and constitution are slowly being picked apart and are eroding away. As senator, I will lead and further the cause of bearing arms and the Second Amendment. As a nation and state, we struggle with foreign trade goods such as oil. As we all are aware, gasoline is produced by oil, and gasoline is a significant part of our economic system. We should not have rely on other foreign countries for a substance we can achieve
In 1747, Franklin organized Pennsylvania’s first militia: the Association. Militias were common in the colonies at the time, but they were, for the most part, structured like traditional European armies, emphasizing hierarchy and discipline and relying on compulsory enrollment and government funding. Franklin, however, organized the Association as though it were any other civil mutual benefit society. Houston writes that, “Men did not ‘enlist’ in the Association. They were ‘subscribers,’ just as the members of the Library Company and the Fire Company were ‘subscribers.’ This was the language of a joint-stock company.” Moreover, Franklin allowed the militia men to elect their own officers and barred corporal and financial punishments for misbehavior
In the early to mid 19th century, the country was at a major divide. Slavery was still allowed federally, but many northern states had decided to outlaw it in their own region. With new states coming into the union, each side hoped to gain control of the government and attempt to push their agenda. The civil war was a direct result of a north-south political and cultural divide exemplified with arguments abouts which states could be allowed into the union with slavery.
The 2016 Presidential election has got to be the most aggressive yet entertaining election of all time. Who would have ever thought that Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton would be the two candidates running for President? This election has got everyone, everywhere riled up over who will win the campaign. Citizens of the United States could argue that neither one of the candidates running, is fit to be Commander and Chief. It has come to the point in this election where citizens are not engaging in voting for President, because of the candidates running. Due to the lack of participates voting, I believe that Senator John McCain would better qualify as President because he is a diplomat, he has a strong military background, he’s had years of experience and is a
New Hampshire was graciously founded on June 21,1788, for the record this was a little over 228 years ago. As for religion 35.15 percent are simply religious meaning they don’t attend regular sunday services, but they do believe that there is a God greater than us. Catholic Christians stand at 24 percent, meaning there probably aren’t that much catholic churches. Here’s proof, there are 1.327 million people living in the state of New Hampshire today. So if I divide 1.327 million by 100, that equals to thirteen thousand two hundred seventy. Finally thirteen thousand two hundred seventy times twenty four equals 318,480 people. Yes that may be a lot but compared to 1.327 million people, that is nowhere near a lot of people.
Montana became part of the union in 1864. It was the 41st state of the United States. In this paper, chronological events that impacted Montana in becoming a state will be discussed. Some of the key dates to be aware of are 1864 and 1889, as well as, how the railroad impacted Montana becoming a state. Finally, an important event that occurred in 1972 that effects the state even today will be discussed.
Montana is a large and lovely state. It has a population of 1,005,141 people. The big sky of Montana covers more than 147,046 square miles. It is considered the fourth largest state in the nation. The size of Montana is equivalent to the combined size of Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and New York. It is located in the North West of the United States. Granite Peak is the highest point in Montana.
Laramie, Wyoming is known as a mostly conservative, republican party majority, which is why there were no hate crime laws that had to deal with sexual orientation or gender identity. Republicans typically were Christians meaning they were against homosexuality and believed it was very wrong. The Laramie officials did not pass any law for about ten years, which showed the Laramie community that their own government did not approve of homosexuals. The government in Laramie is a major influence on a citizen’s political opinion and how they feel on certain topics like homosexuality. If the government does not show approval, how will the citizens of Laramie gain a major acceptance towards homosexuals? Even the governor of Wyoming did not
With all due respect senator, haven't you learned anything from the last election? One, Sanders should have been the nominee. Second, the party has deserted those that were left behind, it didn't seem like an all inclusive political party. Finally, we lost the presidential race, the Senate, in which we figured that we could even gain a few more seats to hold onto the majority comfortably, and finally even gain a few more seats in the House. The old neoliberal ways don't work anymore.
If I were to stand for the Texas senate, the three things that I would work on would be immigration, employment and equal marriage right to homosexual couples. Immigration is the main topic I would focus on. While, we might say that immigration might have greater influx of terrorists in US and while at some point it might be true but we should also not neglect the important fact that immigrants are also most of the hard working people who have worked their sweat out for the countries progress. We cannot ignore the fact that US power lies on diversity of people and their ideas. I would stand for immigrants who have spend years and serve this country to be eligible to be called as an American Citizen. Hardworking immigrants should be granted their rights to be citizen of the country, they served for years. The second issue that I would like to stretch is employment. Increment of the minimum
We are proud to introduce the next governor of the great State of Texas, Ms. Jane “Bitzi” Johnson Miller. She is a staunch Conservative Republican whose proud Texan traditions are deep rooted here in the Lone Star State. A native Texan who grew up in West Texas, she comes from a great line of proud Texans including former Governor Joe “Big Daddy” Johnson. Ms. Miller attended Harvard and earned a Master’s in Business Administration. In this difficult and uncertain time of economic recession, she has
‘The greater the power, the more dangerous the abuse’-Edmund Burke. Montana 1948, written by Larry Watson, is about the troublesome journey the Hayden family had during the late 1940’s. The plot from the text expresses the idea of power. By comprehending the idea, the reader was able to learn how much of an impact a powerful person can have on a powerless person, too much power can lead to disaster to their loved ones and even to themselves and no matter how much power a person has, someday, that person will lose the power they one once had.
The Republican Party has continued to distance itself from the median voter more and more each year. Policies are being driven further to the right and left on both sides, a result of fierce partisan politics, to a degree that may keep independent and moderate voters stuck in their middle ground. In order for the Republican Party to appeal to a new age of republican voters, they must appeal to the nature of the voters while staying true to their mission of small government and conservative ideals. To do this, issues in domestic and economic policy specifically must be addressed thoroughly and provided with the best solution available.
Deciding to run for the Texas State Senate, was a life-changing decision. The effort I had to put into this campaign was extraordinarily time-consuming, but the end is almost near, and I know it will all be worth it. Running for office in Texas will not only cost thousands of dollars, but the number of votes will also matter to me. By the end of this campaign, I am sure I will not only win the elections for the people but also change the perspective of my voters. Because I know if you have the materials needed to succeed, you will achieve.
The best place to live is in the middle of nowhere, or Birney Montana. It is so much better than a city such as Billings because of privacy. Out in the middle of nowhere, Birney MT, people can have as many pets as they wish, and it is a much safer environment to live in. Yes, in the city we are closer to stores and school, but that doesn't beat the tranquility of being out in the open.
First off I want to say that I am very happy to see all of you here. I am going to use this time to announce my candidacy for Senate. After much deliberation I have decided to leave the House of Representatives after my three terms and run for a position in the United States Senate. I believe that I am the right candidate for this position for several reasons. First of all, I was in the House for six years, because of this I understand how the institution is run from the inside, and I understand the problems of the Senate. I believe that this is a very important aspect when running for the Senate. Second I realize that Congress has some fundamental problems, that come from individual goals as well as institutional goals, and I want to take
