Five Questions 1. Two of the most popular archetypes for organization include the Marketplace of Ideas and the Visionary Leader (Tidd & Bessant, 2009). The first is designed and led by those who feel comfortable leading from behind, while the second is led by someone who has creativity and insight and wants employees to pursue their visions (Robbins & Judge, 2007). Both archetypes can have a great deal of value, but they are distinctly different and must be treated as such. The Marketplace of Ideas approach allows the people who have followed the leader to think they have completed things on their own, because the leader is effective as a background force (Tidd & Bessant, 2009). This empowers the followers. The Visionary Leader needs followers who want to go along with his or her plans (Robbins & Judge, 2007). The vision of the leader is aligned with the daily tasks and goals of the employees, and that way the collective attention of the entire team is focused on specific initiatives that need to be completed (Robbins & Judge, 2007). By using this type of leadership, the employees know that they are not doing everything themselves but they all share in the joy of seeing a project come to completion. This can increase their desire to continue to work for a particular company and leader, because they have the opportunity to feel as though they are part of something bigger (Tidd & Bessant, 2009). 2.
