otivation is what keeps us going. It is that internal energy and voices that tell us to keep moving and doing something, even as simple as getting out of bed in the morning. We all seem to know or say we know what we should be doing in order to achieve what we want and to have a happy, healthy, content and prosperous life, but in reality, many if not most of us do not actually do what we are supposed to do or what we say we should be doing.
Motivation is one of those words that is so easy to say and so easy to talk about but not so easy to obtain or retain. I personally believe that it is the main reason, because, unless we have this internal energy to make that first move toward any journey, nothing will ever happen and nothing will ever be accomplished. In a race type of situation, if we never leave the starting line, we will never get to the finish line, and to get started or even to get listed to be in the race we need motivation.
Motivation is the drive someone has to complete a task. The ingredients of motivation are combined with many factors which include simplicity, attitude, the people that we associate and hang around with, the way we think, how much we know ourselves, the way we help other people and so much more.
Motivation is the spark everyone needs to make it throughout the day to set and meet goals anywhere you are and whatever your circumstance, let alone when you hold various responsibilities such as parenting, employment, business and more. When your circumstance is more complex you are more likely to need a lot more sparks to get you going to complete many more tasks in your day to day life. However though, for some reason, people say that the busier a person, the more motivated that person becomes, because he or she is so used to doing things. One question though, just because we do things, that may not necessarily mean that we are happy and enjoying the journey, which is just as important in order for the motivation to last and to find success.
Motivation is having a reason or reasons to act/behave in a particular way. It creates “drive” in people whether it is in pursuit of a goal, or the need to complete an activity. It produces enthusiasm and a willingness to achieve in both a work environment and in your personal life. Motivation can be increased and decreased in line with the incentives on offer.
I chose motivation as my construct because I am very curious at what drives people and keeps them on track to reach goals, deadlines, and thing of this nature. Motivation is the number one driving force behind anything and everything an individual does each day. “Motivation is the desire to do the best possible job or to exert the maximum effort to perform an assigned task. Motivation energizes, directs, and sustains human behavior directed towards a goal.” (Honor, 2009). Motivation can determine the outcome of projects, goals, and can set limits on what an individual can obtain or what they believe they can obtain. Motivation often is the deciding factor on how successful a project in an organization is, and an individual’s needs and desires can both influence a person’s motivation greatly. Motivation can also determine how well an individual does in school, college, or university.
In life, we make choices whether they are poor or premeditated and we continuously learn from those experiences which ultimately sculpts our perception of what our purpose in life is. Only those who truly want to progress will grow and develop to blossom into the person they were made to be through effort. Effort, for me, is the driving force that encourages me to keep moving because what I want, has yet to be accomplished and I would not be satisfied until I have achieved my goal. Without motivation I would never do the things I do now nor be the person I am today.

Motivation is a very strong tool we can use to get further in life and to achieve our dreams and goals. Setting goals for ourselves is something that I consider to be very important, I believe in always pushing myself further and further in life, not only physically but mentally as well.
