As the school year is drawing near, I want to express how much I appreciate the kind things you have done to support me over the past two years. As a newcomer to middle school, I’ve needed your guidance. The schedule you work is unbelievable, and yet you maneuver your time to help me work out dilemmas I need to resolve. There are other teachers on our faculty who would agree with the important part you play in helping us work through out daily lives.

When I arrived at Motlow State Community College nine years ago, the first building on the Motlow Smyrna campus had just opened its doors to serve Rutherford County residents. Very quickly, the enrollment grew to be greater than the space available. I knew that more space and programs were needed, but I had no idea that unprecedented changes would suddenly occur to the economy and stock market.
Dear administrators, teachers, parents, beloved friends, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 8th grade graduation. It’s a pleasure to be standing in front of you today on this beautiful day to express the happiness we all feel.
Over 5000 days of wondering - wondering if we would ever make it to this day. Tonight marks the culmination of this long journey- we are the graduating class of 2014.
Attention Grabbing Step: After years of writing papers, doing homework, taking an occasional pop quiz, and of course taking countless exams, it is that time that we all anticipate…Graduation!
We made it through alive! Welcome family and friends to Gunderson High School’s class of 2018 graduation. As a class, we have gone through many ups and downs together. High school is for making unforgettable memories, and that is exactly what we did the past four years. Even though this may seem like the end, it is just the beginning of a new adventure. Whether it is jumping straight into work or a career, community college, a four year university, the army, we are all going to be doing amazing things.
Good Morning, parents, friends, and last but not least to my fellow Graduates of Monroe High School. It is an honor to stand before you all to deliver this speech for such a special occasion. To the graduates, today is a very bittersweet moment for us all, as this ceremony marks the transition from High School to college, the military, or the job industry. Let me begin by saying I am extremely proud of the growth we have made as a class from our freshman year until this point. Over the course of our four years in high school, we have matured into young adults ready to take on the world. While each of our paths were different, we’ve each weathered the storm and I am pleased to say that we’ve made it! This journey has been filled with so many unforgettable moments, for many of us Monroe High School has been a place to maximize our potential as future leaders, innovators, and thinkers.
My first year of college at Grove City College was a valuable experience in learning a lot about myself and what I want in a college. Although it was a solid starting point and helped me figure some things out, I also realized this past year that I want to be in a more suburban college environment with programs that better fit my interests. With the time, expense, and personal exertion that occurs in college, I want to make the most of the rest of my undergraduate years. Through extensive research and on good advice, I believe that I have found the perfect college for me in
I would like to commence this speech by saying that we have all been truly blessed in being given the opportunity to celebrate our graduation with each other in such a manner. Being able to spend our final moments as a class in such an important place is wonderful, and before I delve further into this speech, I want to thank the man who allowed us to graduate from the church, Father Jenik. He’s a great preacher, a charitable bishop, and most importantly, he is a great man.
Good morning respected guests and members of the community, staff, family, friends and fellow graduates. Let me begin by welcoming you all to today’s event and thanking Ms. Pavlou, Ms. Barresi, Ms. Adamo, Mr. Tenaglia, and _____ . I am absolutely honored to be standing here representing the graduating class of 2017. On behalf of the graduates, I would like to thank you for joining us on this auspicious occasion. Today is one of those great occasions when we get the opportunity to celebrate our achievements, our perseverance and successes as we grow up. It is one of the times that we can reflect just how much we have accomplished and grown in our years at 141.
We all have had many stones read to us, and even read many ourselves. In elementary school they were stories of Lad, Jane and Spot. Each of us beamed with pride as we stumbled over that first line of "See Lad go," or "Run Jane run." Then, in junior high we learned about plot and theme, and the characters of the stories actually developed personalities. Now, as graduating seniors, many of us have learned that stories can teach us valuable lessons about life. Even the simple stories from elementary school contain lessons that we can relate to our own experiences. One story in particular that just happens to be from my favorite producer, Disney, and emphasizes the importance of friendship is "The Fox and The Hound." As this story
I remember coming back from school after taking our final exam in geology my best friend who I thought of him as my brother and I. I remember that day as if it was yesterday I still feel like going through the actions over and over every time I go to sleep. It was a really hot day, the sun was so hot and the air was so dry. We meat out side of the school talked about how we performed on our tests and how our answers were. We were joking laughing having fun. Until he said that he had to leave with someone he knew to get some stuff for his brother whose coming back from the United States. It was that day and that moment when I felt something so horrible that made me ask him to go home and let me go with him to get
As an educator, I am preparing to enter a classroom with many different cultural backgrounds. The first artifact that I chose to use to demonstrate my knowledge of Standard 4 of the CDLE endorsement was an interview I conducted as a piece of a presentation given to the class over Foster Care. The student I interviewed for this was a 10th grade student that is currently a part of the foster care system because she is a refugee from Ethiopia. English is her third language. She is actually very proficient at all of her languages, but uses a handheld translator when she reaches a word she does not understand. These words are usually higher level academic vocabulary words. She was married just before leaving Ethiopia and came here to get a better education. The only reason she is able to stay in the foster care system is she is under 21 and currently enrolled in high school. She attends school with 4 other student from her foster home all of whom are in the 10th grade. I was surprised to hear about that struggles she has had directly related to the foster care system. She works full time to buy the things she needs like clothes. Her foster parents provide only food and shelter to the foster children living in their home. This while their natural children are well taken care of and have their own rooms. The girl I conducted the interview with is the highest achieving of the others she lives with. I believe that it is because she chose to leave Ethiopia on her own to better her
