Tammany Hall, a powerful political organization in New York that virtually controlled politics throughout the state of New York from 1789 until the 1970s, had other ideas and asked Osborne if he would run for lieutenant governor, but he declined. Eventually, a compromise candidate – John A. Dix – got the nomination and was elected. Dix wanted Osborne to be part of his administration and offered him the position of Forest, Fish and Game Commissioner. This was seemingly a ridiculous appointment as Osborne knew nothing about fishing or hunting, nor did he particularly care to learn. But he took the appointment and stuck with it until a brief illness forced him to resign.
English 102 is a college level of reading and writing course based on the theme monster. When I started the class, I thought monsters as scary creature in the books and movies. As I progressed in English 102, I found out monsters is more than what I though t is. Monsters can represent the fear of people and society, a problem in a society, something that is keep coming back and coming back(Such as financial crisis), natural hazard and danger. It also can serve as a warning; so, people avoid the same mistakes.
According to Texas myth carpetbaggers were taking over positons in office, and dominating politically. These carpetbaggers migrated from the north, and they supported the Republican party. Democrats were upset with carpetbaggers coming to Texas, and described them exploitive and corrupt. These individuals were known as carpetbaggers because they brought everything they had in a soft suitcase made of carpet. These carpetbaggers were seen as something negative that only brought bad energy to Texas, and did nothing to benefit us. Democrats also described them as someone who could not be trusted.
By the early 1990s, the South Bronx had changed. On my visits home from an upstate community college, I noticed that more and more neighborhoods had dried up. The “crackheads” and “crack whores” were gone, along with the drug peddlers who had barked:Red Top! Gold Top! I got Blue!Someone had cleaned the streets, dusting the drug dealers and drug users off the planet, leaving the South Bronx a ghost town.Coño, que pasó?By the early 1990s, the South Bronx had changed. The Progressive Era was needed to reform the Gilded Age due to economic expansion, deplorable living standards for the working class, and corrupt government actions that occurred. The Gilded Age took place shortly after the Civil War ended between 1870 and 1900 and resulted in serious national issues. Reforms that were put in place during the Progressive Era took a great deal of time to produce beneficial results which included, returning the control of the government to the people, restoring economic opportunities, and correcting injustice within the daily lives of Americans. The reforms were all in thanks to men and women like Theodore Roosevelt, Upton Sinclair, Woodrow Wilson, and
I came into Norwalk Community College looking for a fresh start. I previously attended a 4 year university that became too much for me; attending school full-time, working 30 hours per week while trying to enjoy the college experience. At the cost of an “experience” I ended up failing most of my classes, putting my health at risk drowned by the tremendous amount of stress and just wanted to completely give up. Looking for a fresh start I decided to leave my University, and attend Norwalk Community College. Though this decision created self-doubt in the beginning, it soon came to my realization that it was the best decision I ever made. Immersed in an environment full of positive people, I was able to put my pieces back together.
On March 16, 2017 in Rockville, Maryland, a 14-year-old ninth grade girl was raped in her high school bathroom by two illegal immigrants aged 17 and 18 also attending the high school. This has shaken the Maryland community and is raising a lot of questions about student’s safety at school and the state’s immigration policies. This is not an incident that should ever have happened and should never happen again in the future.

Honestly ever since I was two years old I have been in water, and learned how to swim at around three. I had not learned anything about swimming in Wheeling High School and I can prove that I did not benefit from the swimming sessions. I had already known survival techniques such as not panicking in water and floating on my back to save energy. I already had common sense of not using drugs because I could drown. I had known that many college students go to Lake Michigan at night and die because they can't see or are drunk. To be honest I knew all of these rules but feel maybe Wheeling high school had re-emphasized all of them. I will try to use these techniques at my pool in Florida and continue to teach others how to swim.
In the early months of 2002, Juneau-Douglas High School in Juneau Alaska, held a school-sponsored and faculty supervised event, held off of school property, to observe the Olympic Torch pass through their area. When television cameras began to turn in the direction of a group of students, they unfurled a banner with the phrase “BONG HiTS [sic] 4 JESUS”. The school principle, Deborah Morse, told the students to remove the banner and one of them named Joseph Frederick refused, compelling Morse to confiscated the banner claiming it promoted illegal drug use and suspended Frederick [1]. The school district superintendent supported Morse and permitted the suspension, stating the banner was in violation of school policy by endorsing the use of

Sometimes, school is competitive. It can become so competitive that students will lie or go so far as to cheat. Some will even kill. Honor Students at Driftwood City High School partake in an Honors English Literature class that ends the year with an exam. The three students who score highest on this test receive a Distinguished Writers Foundation scholarship. This is both a great honor as well as a way to get into the nation's most prestigious colleges and universities. As this is such a serious event, cheating consequences are severe. The first offence results in a failing grade regarding that assignment. Also, the student in question receives a one day suspension from school. If the student decides to cheat a second time, the consequence
