William joins the military and while he’s gone Margaret invites William’s mother Mrs. Anglin and brother Marshall to her parents’ house for dinner, which doesn’t go well because Mr. and Mrs. Ryder refuse to sign in an even more awkward silence. William comes back injured but not crippled and they live with her parents until he’s accepted into college. Margaret’s parents are sad to see her go but as soon as they can they go see her and it was unannounced. Margaret’s parents are very upset to see the place where she’s living and go to sign how upset they are that William hasn’t provided better for their daughter. Her parents never visit her again. The next time Margaret sees her parents is when she’s very pregnant to let them know that they’ll be grandparents. Lastly William and Margaret move into better housing where they will raise their child till William graduates from college. Margaret and William invite everyone to their baby shower after the birth of their son and her parents show up after everyone has gone. Margaret is upstairs with her son and William answers the door and her parents surprise her. When they see each other all the turmoil between them is gone and they enjoy each other’s company. The movie ends with Janice’s retirement party where Abel, Margaret, William and their son go and Janice’s signs a speech that Margaret
The movie Parenthood is a great movie to watch. It delivers a good message about parenting, life struggles, and love. Just as grandma stated that life was like a roller coaster, up and down, up and down. Each sibling of the Buckman family has struggles in his or her own family. Helen Buckman, as a single mom stands out the most to me.
The movie presents itself as an engrossing and well-paced mystery. It is very quick to find its feet and pulls the viewer in from the very beginning. There are many twists and turns at every corner. It is definitely a movie that allows you to experience the excitement of uncovering the mystery at the same rate as the main character does.
All in all, I liked the movie for a number of reasons. For instance, the movie clearly brings out the plight of young children who are burdened with parental responsibilities at a very tender age. While the case in the movie is as a result of crime and medical incapacitation, there are so many other vices in society that have turned young children into parents even before they internalize the true definition of who a parent is. Vices such as civil wars, the HIV/AIDS menace and even sporadic wars between warring nations have left so many young children with the responsibility of bringing up their siblings. Ree is thus portrayed as an example to be emulated by all other children of her age who unfortunately finds themselves in similar circumstances (Paludi, 2011). Rather than sit around crying the whole day, it’s always advisable to pick up the left pieces and move on with life since at times, those you expect to offer a helping hand might turn out to scorn you
This is a great film, for the family, or even a very nice date night with that very special someone.
This movie is awesome. It is about a man who after getting a divorce, decides to get help from a friend to find new love. That sounds like a typical movie, very normal. It’s not! With so many twists and turns, you would think you were watching the Kardashians, this movie is funny, interesting, and most of all crazy.
Joshua Dudley reviews the movie by saying, “I was swept up in the emotional realism of it all with nothing but grounded performances from the whole cast.” and Jamie East explains, “Manipulative? Maybe a little - but isn’t that a film’s job? To make us feel? This certainly does that.” I agree with
Overall, I think this movie was okay. It was slow at times, but it was kept it interesting even through the slow parts. Sometimes it was difficult to know what was happening. My favorite part of the movie was when they all escaped and stole a boat and went fishing because it was really funny. There were a lot of sad parts too such as when the guy that stutters killed himself because the nurse was going to tell on him. Another sad part that really broke my heart was when the Indian couldn’t stand to leave McMurphy all out of himself and smothered him to end his suffering. Anyway, overall I thought the movie was okay, it wasn’t my favorite but it did keep my interest throughout the movie and had a good
In conclusion I really recommend this movie because it will make you feel a scary kid again. Also, it gives you a subtle message which is that is easier to achieve your goals or to front facing a difficult situation if you are with real friends that supports you in everything you
The film grows together, everything falls into place. It’s a film many can enjoy. Many unexpected scenarios occur, and throw you for a 180. It’s very entertaining with many events that appear throughout the film, and catches you off guard but that's what keeps the movie exciting. I highly recommend watching the Joneses it gives an underline input on how no family lives in a perfect world. It’s not possible. For society to stop looking at other families to be picture perfect when in reality we don’t know what's going on behind closed doors. It’ll make you reflect on your life, your family and how you look at other people's life, and
I'd like to preface this review by warning the reader that this movie contains sexual imagery, violence, drugs, nudity, physical abuse, incest, and rape. Why does this need to be stated? Well, firstly because all these things personally make me extremely uncomfortable, but more importantly, for anybody reading this who could have a panic attack and/or depressive episode triggered by such things. If this is you, my advice as someone who has experienced both of those things, is to steer clear of this movie because it is definitely not worth the emotional trauma.
This is a great film. The film's two stars, Hunt and Nicholson, both deliver great performances that earned both stars Oscar and Globe nominations that were supremely deserved (also deserved
This movie is simply a showstopper. It deals with some topics that aren’t always suitable for all people as death is clearly one of the main subjects of this show. If you want a tear-jerker, a good laugh or even just to feel warm and fuzzy on the inside, these characters will do all three in the 1 hour and 45 min. they
This movie speaks to me on many personal levels, I hardly know where to begin- and almost didn't. It's easy, with my abandonment and bullying issues, to assume its attraction for me. I admit these are a factor, but it's not the whole.
I recommend this movie if you want to see something sad or something interesting about what some families may have to go through if they have a member in their family, just like Arnie Grape. I prefer you to wait until this movie is on Netflix or on videos online because it’s not worth your money to spend on in the cinema to watch this movie. Sometimes, in some scenes it could be pretty slow and you would like to get out until some exciting parts comes in. Although, I kind of enjoyed this movie, I’m glad that I get to watch it for probably the first and last time because I have learned some things from this
