Have you ever helped someone or something in need? I’ve helped many animals, but the one that needed my help the most was Mr. Hopps, a toad that I rescued from a fire. One night I asked my dad if we could have a bonfire, he told me we could because he knew how much I loved having them. Once we had made the fire we all got chairs and sat around it. Out of the corner of my eye I saw something hop into the fire. I went to see what it was, and I found a toad that was extremely burned and suffering. I went to grab it and my dad stopped me. He knew that I was a huge animal lover so he went ahead and let me grab it out of the fire. Once I had him in my hands I blew on him to see if he would jump or not. He didn’t. I flipped him over and looked at his stomach to see if he was breathing and he was, but just barely. I knew I had to act fast. I brought Mr. Hopps inside and got a damp paper towel. I wrapped the paper towel around him and held him for a little bit. After a few minutes passed I unwrapped him to see if he was breathing better and he was. Later that night, I took him back outside at sat him by a bush. …show more content…
If he was gone I knew that he was able to hop away happily. Helping an animal not only probably made the animal happy, but it also made me feel good. If you ever see someone or something in need you should help them because you never know when you might need
It was Thanksgiving dinner all the kids were outside playing” over here over here! “ roared the kids while all the adults were conversing. We were all having a marvelous time then suddenly that’s when it occurred. We all went inside to the strong aroma of smoke. We entered the kitchen to find that the turkey was burning ” quick somebody get the turkey!” yelled Aunt Marge . Mom quickly rushed to get the turkey out,but when she opened the oven nothing but smoke poured out. She took out the turkey but we all knew there was nothing that could be done. It was burnt to a crisp, it was smoking like a chimney .So it was all thanks to the leftover ham in the fridge that we had Thanksgiving dinner. But even though dinner was ruined we all had a good
We collected ninety-three new stuffed animals. I was one of the few to deliver them to the hospital. Although we were unable to see the children, the administration was very appreciative of our efforts. I could feel their generosity and knew that we had accomplished a great act of love. A fire in my heart has been ignited to extend love to the sick and suffering.
I grab the trunk sitting in the corner of my room and opened it and saw things in there that we weren’t able to take on the trail so I got rid of everything in it and I putting some pillows, blankets, cloth diapers, sewing kit, hunting kit, a first aid kit, wagon repair kit that our friend gave to us when we bought the wagon, and some tools. I noticed that my husband was behind me so i asked if he could help me take this trunk out side because it was heavy. We got back to the room and I saw that I forgot to put the bible in the trunk so I put it on the night stand. It started getting light outside James and I finished gathering our flour, sugar, and salt. He went and woke up Hope and then he came out of their room carrying George. After putting everything on the wagon I then noticed that the butter turner wasn't there so I had James go and get it while I went back inside the house to grab Hope’s doll and the bible that I left sitting on the night stand last night. I go back outside to see that James also got the chickens on the side of the wagon and the oxen attached and ready to pull the wagon and we on our way to
“I was in the restroom. I was blow drying my hair, my two-year-old was sitting on the counter watching me and I smelled something burning. I walked in the living room and that’s when I saw the candle. It was in flames. I blew on it about three or four times and the last time I blew, it just went all up in my face... I immediately started screaming.”
It was a cold and starless night, three children and their dog ran away from home. Their names were Tanuki, Susie, and William along with their dog Snake. Their were fairly young for their age but in respectful terms. They ran away from home to go camping together, when they were setting up camp Susie started talking about a legend. "They say when it's a full moon that a wolf with glowing white eyes as bright as the moon, will come to take you to your grave!" Susie spoke in a creepy voice, the others were a little frightened but they didn't show it. "Susie! Stop telling us such ridiculous carrot tales! We know of the legend already but your just trying make it real!"
I jump and scream. As I get half way through the Woods I trip on root coming out of the ground. Scrapes are covering my knee, blood gushing! I limp my way through the woods tripping and falling as I go. I finally see the backyard of my house, but first have to get through the neighbor's yard. Hopefully that angry dog is locked up! I think to myself! But as I reach the neighbors yard I see the vicious, angry, horrifying dog standing there with his slobber all over his mouth Just staring at me. “Nice doggy” I said sweetly. But it doesn't work. He comes chasing at me only couple yards away! “ Bruno!” Yells the neighbors owner.”Stop this instant!” Bruno goes walking toward the man slowly. “Kenal! Now!” Bruno walks past me growling while walking toward his kenal. “Sorry about that,” says the owner. “Here i’ll help you home.” He says sweetly. As we approach the door, my mother opens it quickly. “What happened? Are you ok?” “Yeah.” I reply. “Well thank you!” “ No problem.” says the man. When I walk inside mom quickly cleans up my knee and sends me straight to bed. As I lay in bed I think of all the crazy things I did today. This was a day I would never
It was a new day. I had spent it exploring the parts of the backyard that I hadn’t seen before. My sister, Tia and I were eating the crab apples and currants. Our dog, Lacey was following us around. Soon my uncle arrived back at the house. He offered to take us around the property in an ATV. We blissfully agreed and hopped on the back of the ATV. Our dog followed us up the mountain, but something caught her eye. She ran down after it. We didn't think anything of it and kept on the ATV.
He came to the shelter seeking to find his cat. He told me how he had decided to end things with his girlfriend and that the day after his cat was missing. Turns out his girlfriend proceeded to break into his house and steal his cat along with all the cats’ things. I had to break the news that she had brought the cat here to be euthanized. I then helped him gather his Louie Viton cat carrier (Goes to show how much he truly loved his cat), his beloved cat’s toys, blanket, and bed. This guy was a mess and it was very hard to experience. This concludes that along with all of the many good memories that came out of the volunteering experience at the shelter it isn’t all rainbows and smiles.
There was a boy that lived in a small town. He had no family and did not go to school, he lived in a house alone and had only one friend, she had never seen his face and would leave home at 5 p.m. To bring him food and talk to him every day. He doesn’t go outside because whenever he went outside, he would see a shadowy creature that would follow him everywhere, so from that point on he just stayed home. One day the girl didn’t come, so he got worried and went outside to find her when he went outside, he saw the girl but the girl was screaming in fear
I saved a turtle from getting hit by a car because i saw a car coming and a turtle in the road so i let the car pass then i went out in the road and got the turtle and then to make sure he was safe I kept him as a pet and named him juan. I felt good that I helped a turtle in need because i got a pet. If there was someone in need i would ask them if they are hurt or need help then help them with whatever their need is
In the middle of the visit with the Sheriff at my office, I got a call from Calpurnia, terror in her voice, claiming that a rabid dog was slowly approaching my home. I reckoned Calpurnia was right, for she was a wise lady. I quickly turned to the Sheriff telling him the news. Shortly after, we started headin’ to the house, we became nervous and overwhelmed. The thought of my children potentially being bit or attacked by the dog sent a fluttery feeling in stomach. Before I knew it, we arrived to the house, I dashed out of the car to Jem and Scout to make sure they were safe. I told them to stay inside with Calpurnia, I couldn't risk them gettin’ hurt. I turned toward the Sheriff who handed me the gun, my childhood memories
Helping others has been something that has always brought great joy into my life. I love the satisfaction I get from knowing that I’ve made someone else happy or feel better. In fact I got a job that allows me to do it all the time, and plan to have a career that does the same.
I never seen so many abandon animals in a shelter before, it was really sad. Caring and helping them out made me feel good about myself. Even though half of my job was pretty messy it was worth it. I remember washing this puppy all covered in dirt, I thought to myself why anyone would do such a thing to the pour animal. One time I even got a chance to go to the
It was getting pretty dark so we had to be quick. Will brought some flashlights for us to use, we asked him why he had them and he said he's afraid to walk in the dark alone. Alex and I just started laughing at the ridiculousness of way just said. I told him the last time I was afraid of the dark was when I was five. It was my first time sleeping without a night-light and I thought there was something in my closet. I kept on crying and crying until my mom came in and showed me that there was nothing there, ever since that I've never been afraid of the dark. We started to descend the hill to search for the ball it was fall however, there were so many piles of leaves that resembled the ball. It would have been hard to find it. At this time it was getting pretty dark so we turned on the flashlights to get a better look. I told my friends they have to stay with me or else they would reach out to giving me $50 to replace the football. 15 minutes had passed and we were getting tired I said “we can come back tomorrow and look for it then.” They said okay that's fine but how are we going to get out, no one had taken directions so we were lost in the forest just the three of us. So we just guessed which way was out and we started walking in that direction. A couple of minutes had passed and Alex tripped on something, his
So the next day I went out to the woods again and started looking for arrows. I found a few good sticks and took them back to camp and started sharpening them. I put a little crease in the end of the arrow and then put in the quiver then I shot it and surprisingly it went pretty far probably a good 20 feet. So I took it out and started looking for food then I saw it a rabbit sitting right in front of me I put the arrow in the quiver and I shot it. I took it back to camp and I realized I had to skin it so I used my rock knife to skin it and I found another straight stick to stab the rabbit and then I cooked it over the fire. I was
