During the sixteenth century Spain had control over land in the Caribbeans and America that was ten times the size of Spain. One of the most famous conquerors was a man by the name of Cortes. His first target was the Aztec Empire one of the richest empires in America. After a very bloody battle Cortes successfully conquered the empire “converting” its people to Christianity and taking their gold. From this Cortes became on of the richest men in the world. This event inspired many others to do the same with many choosing the life of a conquistador to find their riches in the new world. The amount of conquistadors started to make Spain worry if they were to try and rule New Spain and that they were killing more Indians instead of converting

Estephanie Ramirez is an 18 year old undergraduate student at Bunker Hill Community College. She was born in the Dominican Republic, but now resides in Boston, Massachusetts. Although general information like this can help give me background, it does not help me understand her personality. In order to learn more about this patient, I met with three of her closest friends and family. I interviewed her mother Ayalibys, and her two best friends Carlos and Ariana.
Hello I am Catalina Juarez. I am involved in this case because I am Hernando Cortes wife. I have known him before his first expedition in 1519. We didn’t marry until 1522. Throughout our marriage I realized that he had a mental illness. Of course everyone, even I thought he was just flat out crazy but his condition along with his mental condition got worse and worse. He always said that it wasn’t him who killed them all it was a disease. Something in the air that got them. This all started to happen after his expedition and he always thought cuban police would come get him. He tried convincing me that we have to leave but I just thought he was crazy and then one day I woke up and some things he had was

The following symptoms show the poor adjustment to injuries (Petitpas and Danish 1995); feeling of anger, denial “the injury isn’t a big deal”,mood swing and many more (Horn , 2008). Therefore while observing Maria and see such adjustment she has to be referred to a medical specialist. Horn , (2008) Problem focused strategies can be efforts directed at altering the problem that causes the stress for example gathering history of Maria’s knee injury, setting specific learning about treatment resources and many more not forgetting adhering to a rehabilitation plan, in case try to tell Maria not to dread through the rehab if she wanted to recover (eventhogh she wont be recovering). (Hanson , et al., 1992) Emotional focused strategies can be directed
Based on the example of Juanita, there are strategies that could be used to help reduce her anxiety that she is experiencing due to having to take a math test. Test anxiety can negatively affect Juanita’s academic performance on the test so it is important for the counselor to be able to provide her with strategies that can help her to cope with the anxiety (Parsons, 2007). Different strategies to help Juanita could include teaching coping skills, study skills, and relaxation techniques (Capuzzi & Gross, 2014; Parsons, 2007). Also, to normalize the strategies the counselor can provide guidance lessons for all students using the same relaxation techniques and provide an overview for teachers and parents so that the same techniques could be used
I believe the reason “The Puerto Rican woman” does not have a name in the story was probably because she was she was irrelevant and viewed as just being the mistress, I mean the one who was probably the caused their father’s abandonment to them all this while. Another reason could probably be because they viewed her willingness to have an affair with a married man with children as degrading to womanhood. To me, the effects that she had on the family was major because precious time that could have been spent by Papi connecting with his children were spent with her.
The main ethical issue is the Rivera families do not have the legal authorization to work or stay in the U.S. since they illegally crossed the border. The integrity of the Rivera family is in question on rather what else will they do. Even though it is understandable that they came to U.S. for better opportunities and living condition. While the parents are working as seasonal farm workers and raise Juanita and Roberto, they are not paying any taxes to contribute to the country. Because they do not have the social security in order to find a legal job in the state. The worries of getting caught by authority are catching up to them.
