In The Story of an Hour, Chopin introduces Mrs. Mallard as the main character in the story. The author’s brilliance in compressing the personality of her characters and her ability to evolve her character’s personality and thoughts is depicted by her characterization of Mrs. Mallard. Having lost her husband, Mrs. Mallard can transgress through sets of different feelings.
