In video 0148-Subject: Generalist, two of the way that the teacher managed her students behavior where proximity and by using a hand signal that informed the class they were not being respectful. In this video the class is divided up into two groups and both groups are discussing how to spend money they earned selling compost to their community. You can tell that the students are all very passionate about their endeavor and how to make it better and expand community awareness. Because of the close proximity of the groups and the nature of the discussion you can sometimes hear student’ voices getting louder as they try to make their point of view heard. The teacher uses zone of proximity to make sure the discussion do not get too out of hand.
As we all know, Modern Marvels was about the complexities and history of undergarments. The depth of information this episode pours out was exceptionally interesting to me. This educational video mainly explains the process behind sculpting undergarments people wear. Both genders can get something out of this video. As it explains the role of men’s underwear, women’s bras and panties, and socks.
Attached is my Home movie show extra credit with grammar mistakes corrected. The Use of Propaganda to Mobilise the Minds of the Nation Toward War Propaganda is defined as a specific type of message presentation aimed at serving an agenda. At its root, the denotation of propaganda is 'to propagate (actively spread) a philosophy or point of view'. The most common use of the term historically is in political contexts; in particular to refer to certain efforts sponsored by governments or political groups. Advertising, religious preaching, etc. are also propaganda, as well as, in today’s world, TV talk shows. During World War 1 all types as propaganda was used to mobilise the minds of the nation towards war.
This week's class started out with a YouTube video titled, "You're in Charge." The video discussed time management. After discussing time management as a general subject, we learned about how time management is crucial for note taking. Some of the key factors for note taking involved relying on ourselves, not to lose focus, motivating ourselves to get our work done to the best of our abilities. Following these factors was goal setting. Goal setting can be either short-term, which takes zero-three months, mid-term, which takes about three-twelve months, or long term, which takes over than twelve months. Goal setting is important because in order to complete a task in a timely manner, an individual must commit themselves to completing said goal.
Hello Tierney, I definitely agree with you regarding the cop analogy that was shown in the YouTube video because I myself liked it myself. I also recall my elementary years having to repeat certain procedures over and over until we got it right. I like that you mention the one “bad apple” because that is exactly how I felt when it was my fault for having to start all over, no kid wants to feel guilty or responsible for being the bad apple so every child will try to get it right so they don’t become the “bad apple”. I was also going to pick your third flip tip you picked because I like the idea of dealing with adolescents as if we were coaches instead of acting like a boss around them. Adolescents don’t like to feel pushed around, so taking
The first evidence in which literature accurately represents society is the physical abuse endured by those with power. Throughout history, it is obvious that any person who claims power over blacks beat, torture, and even kill black men and women from being just that, black. This perpetual suffering comes from slave owners that eventually evolves to become the police force we live with today. History shows us that white societies display to be as technologically advanced as African civilizations. However, this does not last for long and the British colonies had “forcibly remove its inhabitants to work as slave laborers in new colonies across the Atlantic, Africans came to be seen as a deficient ‘species,’ as ‘savages’”. Consequently, this
I came across this article a few weeks ago and it read how people at home could have their doctor come and see them through a computer and they could use this product called Tele-Monoriting. Its a new innovation that allows doctors to speak to us through our technological device. (Marsch). It became a new wave of success for more doctors and it shows that when people had IT Platforms implanted into them the doctors were able to record their sleeping hours, their pulse, and their breathing.
In my movie trailer video I used pictures from shutterstock and google images, the music I used is off on the wevideo site I used. I chose upbeat music at first to represent that in the book everything is normal and happy at first. Then I used more sad and suspenseful music, because in the book you don’t know what’s going to happen next. In my video I included a lot of pictures of Sam with her friends, because that’s is one of the main elements of her is that she is always surrounded by her friends.
Alice Walker once said, “The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.” People dedicate 10+ hours a day towards their media use; the power is in the messages. When I watched Miss Representation I learned that the media plays a pivotal role in how society view women. Watching this video gave insight from different spheres and aspects of women in our society. They face an uphill and impossible to win battle to be perfect. The main point of this video Miss Representation is to educate viewers on the media’s role and impact in shaping society’s expectation of women.
“A Better Life” reflects the reality of immigrants’ lives. I learned some immigrant experiences through this video.
What was the media clip about? The media clip was about two groups of children talking about their parents’ trust and the relationship with their parents. There was one group of adolescents and another group of preadolescents.
Adding and removing policies within a nation has been happening for thousands of years now. The policy making process may differ from nation to nation, and has changed for most nations throughout the years. For example, the policy process for the United Kingdom isn’t ran by a king or queen anymore; instead they have a parliament that accepts or denies bills. Public policies are very important for a nation because they create order and improve the quality of life for most. In this paper I will discuss the five steps in the policy making process for the U.S. While these steps can be in almost any order, and also added and removed. They are the foundation for how most policies are accepted or denied in the U.S.
Many claim that global warming is obvious and that all arguments against global warming fall. The problem is that what is “obvious” often isn’t true. “A gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants.” This is the Webster dictionary definition of Global Warming, which basically says that due to an overflow of harmful and hazardous chemicals in the air that it is creating a danger zone for the earth. This is because these chemicals are increasing the earths’ temperature. Svante Arrhenius, a Swedish scientist was the first person to claim that in 1896 that fossil fuel combustion may
