Astronomy to me is very important. There are a lot of things still needing discovered, but things such as the tides, phases of the moon, and ect. are very important to us. Astronomy is the study of the whole universe. Muggle astronomy is just pretty much the logic and knowledge of the actual objects such as meteors, moons, planets, ect. the physics of it, whereas wizards have to think of the moon phases and other magical properties.
Mercury is the first planet. It was named after the Roman god of thievery. It also only takes 59 Earth days to rotate.
Venus is the second planet. It was named after the Roman goddess for love and beauty. It is one of the four terrestrial planets.
Earth is the third planet. It is known as Venus sister. It also
Then red dwarf star that was discovered by Michal Gillion and his team with the spencer telescope. Once they discovered this star that is a lot small and colder than our sun, it allowed them to get a vision of the seven planets. The star is about 40 light years away. There are not 3 or four planets but there are 7 earth like planets.
The Planet Venus is named after the Roman Goddess of Love and Beauty. It is the second planet from the sun. Very similar in size and mass as the Earth. Some distinctive features of Venus are its rotation, Its brightness and its hot temperatures,
Although Earth and Venus are known as "The SisterPlanets" they both have varying factors. Today I will be talking about Venus. References of Venus go as far as 1600 BCE. It is named after the Roman
Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun and the second-smallest planet in the Solar System.
Phoebe. It orbits outside of Saturn, and has a dark surface and a significant number of
In the Solar System there is nine planets total counting Pluto and eight not counting pluto. Named after the Greek god of the underworld Pluto is the ninth of the nine planets from the sun. Pluto was discovered in February 18, 1930 by Clyde Tombaugh. Plutos the only orbit planet in the Solar System after it was classified as an orbit planet back in 2006. The planet has nine moons total Charon, Hydra, Nix, Kerberos, and Styx. Although Pluto is the largest Dwarf Planet it's smaller than most moon of the other planets. Alongside Pluto is the eighth planet from the sun otherwise known as Neptune. Due to its blue coloration Neptune was named after the Roman god of the Sea. While neptunes the third largest planet with respect to mass, according to diameter it's the fourth largest. Neptune has 14 moons and a very thin collection of rings that are made up of ice and dust
It has been said that astronomy is unique among branches of magic in that we can work with and learn from muggles as much as our fellow wizards. As a muggleborn, coming to Hogwarts with something recognizable on the schedule, astronomy, has been nice in a world of new and un recognizable things, however exciting they may be. I distinctly remember getting a telescope for Christmas when I was eight years old, and spent hours talking to my dad and studying the sky. The sky does not change depending upon if you are a wizard or muggle, and we are all in pursuit of more information about the amazing universe we live in. However, there are a few factors that are different regarding wizarding astronomy than muggle astronomy. As wizards we can use magic and magical equipment to see farther and more clearly. We can use these unique tools for more accurate
Years and years ago, there were only eight known planets that orbit our sun; Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Eight planets until that fateful day when Clyde W. Tombaugh discovered our ninth planet. Although, a little credit should be given to Percival Lowell,
Mercury is the closes to the sun and Venus is 2nd close to the sun. Mercury and Venus are inter planets that means they are two of the 4 inter planets. They are not made of gas that is only the outer planets are the only ones that can be made of gas. Venus earth's closest neighbor in the solar system. Venus is the brightest object in the sky after the Sun and the Moon, and sometimes looks like a bright star in the morning or evening sky but I have never seen it before. Mercury is named for the ancient Roman god of trade and profit the roman people believed in many
Mercury: Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, and one year on Mercury is equal to 88
I believe the most interesting planet in our solar system, other than Earth, is Neptune. This is because Neptune is farther from the sun then most planets. To add to that, Neptune was discovered in 1846 by a French mathematician. This mathematician however did not discover Neptunes largest moon Triton. Plus, he wasn’t the only scientist involved in the discovery of Neptune. Discovering another planet beyond Uranus was thought to be improbable. But a collection of scientists noticed changes in the orbit of another planet, the planet slightly closer to our star than Neptune, Uranus. But before all of this happened, our old friend Galileo saw something with his small telescope. He saw what he thought could be a fixed star or something that could just be there effecting Uranus’ orbit.
Astronomy is the oldest of the natural sciences, dating back to antiquity, with its origins in the religious, mythological, and astrological practices of pre-history: vestiges of these are still found in astrology, a discipline long interwoven with public and governmental astronomy, and not completely disentangled from it until a few centuries ago in the Western World . In some cultures astronomical data was used for astrological prognostication.
Mercury, named after the Roman God of Thievery, Commerce, and Travel, is the first planet from the Sun. It is unique because it shows at both morning rise and evening set of the sun. It is rocky, heavily cratered, covered in boulders, and also pulverized dust. The majority of it's surface bears a strong resemblance to that of Earth's moon. It's lack of atmosphere causes wild temperature fluctuations. Temperatures can range from 90 kelvin to 700 kelvin thus creating a planet, from all observations, that cannot sustain life--it is geologically dead. Mercury also has a magnetic field generated by the planet's core that can deflect solar wind and which has a magnetosphere that changes. This was surprising for such a slow rotating planet--one that rotates completely every 88 Earth days.
The terrestrial planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. These four planets are the planets that are closest to the sun. Terrestrial means earthlike; therefore, these planets are all earthlike because they have a solid ground. The terrestrial planets are the middle school years. The knowledge learned here orbits the sun. If the knowledge learned at the sun is not retained, a student may have a
Mercury which is the planet that is closest to the sun is the first planet I will discuss. Mercury is the smallest of the inner
