Osama bin Laden came from a very well-known Saudi family (Rosen). His father had his own successful construction company and was even close to the royal family (Rosen). Usama bin Laden, born in 1957, comes from a wealthy Saudi Arabian family that owns a multinational construction business. He used his inherited wealth to finance Afghan forces fighting the Soviet Union's occupation of Afghanistan in the 1980’s. After the 1991 Gulf War, he was distressed that Saudi Arabia allowed U.S. forces to remain in the Arabian Peninsula. To advance his agenda of expelling the U.S. from the Islamic world, he worked with other anti-Western fundamentalists to organize a secretive, highly compartmentalized terrorist network, known as al-Qaida.      Osama bin Laden is a political icon to the people of Afghanistan. He has created a modern day crusade against western civilization that people support because of his rhetorical ability to create, not only through speech, but also through his actions, an insightful philosophy that has moved thousands of people into action against the United States. He was able to achieve this because he chose a religious path that people supported; he took influential persons in his life and his familial background into his radical stance on Islamic government and created an historical movement that has affected thousands of people.

It was during this time that bin Laden and his associate Abdullah Azzam created Al ‘Qaeda (the base). The U.S. was unaware that they were providing training and secret assistance to a future enemy. The Soviets finally pulled out of Afghanistan in 1989, but bin Laden and his associate had already decided that al ‘Qaeda would not dissolve. Azzam was killed later that year, and bin Laden became head of the organization. The organization remained relatively underground whilst it prepared for its fight against the West. In 1995, Mohamed obtained employment with the Burns International Security Company, a private company that provided security services to businesses and government agencies. The company assigned him to a security guard position at the Northrop Grumman facility that developed sensitive components used in nuclear weapons. Mohamed sought a security clearance to work in the facility's classified areas, but his application was denied (J.M. Berger, n.d).

The US led Afghan war ignited soon after the 9/11 attacks on America, killing approximately 3000 US citizens in New York City at the time of George W Bush’s presidency. The tragic attack was brutally carried out by a prominent Al-Qaida Leader Osama Bin Laden, who had just fled his hometown in Saudi Arabia and was living in Afghanistan’s rugged mountains of Tora Bora. Natural disaster happen all the time and nothing can be done when it had happened already. It hard to move on with life when there are deaths and houses totally destroyed. It will take time before everything in the community is back to normal and take times before people move on with their life, putting back the bad memory. Sometimes when it occur so often it could be frustrating. Once it had been destroyed by the storm there only two choices either leave to find new home far away from the ocean or rebuild it again. The Taliban was rooted in a strict version of Islamic Law that basically made the guidelines for being what the Taliban interpreted as a “good Muslim” enforced by the law. Things that were options, such as men growing beards and attending religious services regularly and women not working outside of the home were responsibilities the new regime endowed on the people. Mullah Muhammad Omar is one of American’s most wanted terrorist. The United States put up $10 million dollars as a reward if it led to Omar’s capture. The US then raised it to $25 million dollars for his capture. Omar’s terrorist cell is based in Afghanistan. Omar is considered a mysterious terrorist amongst his people and a mythological hero in the terrorist world. In 2004, Omar stated that the Taliban were “hunting Americans like pigs.”
