Paris was the target of multiple terrorist attacks on November 13. Over 129 people were killed, and 350 more were injured. The most deaths occurred at the concert of a U.S. rock group. Hostages were taken at this location, and suicide bombers attacked several other locations. This is not the first terrorist attack in Paris, another one took place less than a year ago at the headquarters of the Charlie Hebdo newspaper. Both of these attacks were claimed by ISIS to be their own. They have taken over much of Iraq and Syria and have beheaded several journalist and Christians. A passenger boarded a train traveling from Amsterdam to Paris, armed with a box cutter, a pistol and an AK-47 with intent to harm innocent people. Four passengers on the train quickly subdued the terrorist before anyone could be harmed. In November, Paris, France was struck with terror when three armed men set off a string of attacks throughout the city, to include a bomb and active shootings. On this day, an Islamic group called al-Qaeda launched numerous attacks on the United States and killed thousands of innocent americans. Although the cause of it all was al-Qaeda, people believe that it was in fact the U.S. government that attacked its own nation. However, evidence from live footage of the attacks show that their claims are indeed false.
Some argue that the 9/11 attacks hastened the airline industry to make changes that would have come sooner or later because many carriers were already in financial trouble. The airlines were forced to make cuts in their cost structure and renegotiate labor expenses due to a decline in passenger demand, which realistically was needed regardless of the 9/11 attacks (Logan).

In Paris, a deadly terrorist attack occurred,where seven of the terrorist were killed and they killed more than one hundred people. ISIS took responsibility for this attack. In a span of about thirty minutes, six attacks took place in different locations. This is attack is being called the worst terror attack in Europe in ten years.

At 11:40 this morning, it was confirmed that the man sought in connection to the bombings that devastated New York City and New Jersey has been captured by the authorities. Following an intense shootout with police in Linden, New Jersey, Ahmed Kh Rahami was taken into custody with minor injuries. There were no additional individuals reported injured.

In the United Kingdom (UK), London’s transportation network was attacked by suicide bombers killing 52 people and causing $52 million US dollars of damage. The UK has been one of the more successful European countries when it comes to catching terrorists. From 2001-2011, over 2,800 people have been arrested for terrorist related offences compared to the United States 154 people. In 2011, a single nationalist named Anders Behring Breivik bombed a government building in Oslo, Norway. One week later, he made his way to a Norwegian labor camp located 25 miles away and killed 69 more in another bombing. Recently, the past couple of years, a new terrorist group has begun to emerge called ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria). In November of 2015, a series of six attacks took place, 3 suicide bombers struck near the Stade de France followed by suicide bombings and mass shootings at cafés, restaurants and a music venue in central Paris. After this devastating attack ended, there were 130 dead and nearly 400 injured. The most recent attack by ISIS took place in March of 2016 at the airport in Brussels, Belgium. Two explosions had been set off killing 13 and wounding 81, and one hour later in downtown Belgium at Maelbech Metro Station, one bomb was set off killing 20 people and wounding
The attack began on September 5, 1972, and involved eight Palestinian terrorists. The terrorists invaded the Olympic Village, killing two members of the Israeli team and taking an addition nine other Israelis athletes as hostages in an attempt to bargain for the release of over 230 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails. Following the abduction, all nine athletes, along with five terrorists and a German policeman, died in a botched rescue attempt (History.com Staff, 2009). I think that this event is considered significant for a number of reasons. The first is that the Olympics were a globally televised event with an estimated 1 billion people view the games. This made the terrorist attack and the events that subsequently ensured, one of the most globally viewed terrorist events of that time period.
